What I love about the first time you enter Mysidia is how spiteful the residents are, especially the ones who turn Cecil into a toad, pig, or poison him, and even one who runs away. You didn't realize Tellah knows Reflect after Ordeals and that you could bounce Black Magic off of your reflect to hit the boss through their reflect? Potions also go through reflect when you need healing. That's just one method against Baigan. I prefer smacking the body with a powerful spell, then letting Yang and Cecil pound the body, everyone else heals for my low-level runs, and it's pretty much a free fight with no grinding (Paladin Cecil can do it at LV 1 regardless of port). Calcabrena is a pain in the butt until you figure out the puzzle to the boss. Golbez can also be a huge pain. Though, I have to admit, that was the first time in all the ports I played I have ever seen a defeat because Cecil was down (I never had him dead at the end of the Calcabrena fight in all the years I've played and challenge runs I've done). I don't know if the footage was spliced in out of order, but with that Max HP, Rosa should be high enough level to know Reflect in the Summons cave, and you didn't cheese Aura by casting reflect on her to heal your party while you wailed on her? I forget if this port permits targeting enemies with Reflect, but if you can't target the enemies with it, you can cast Reflect on a party member, then cast it on the same party a second time to bounce it onto an enemy (as demonstrated in the Magus Sisters fight, when they bounced Reflect of their Reflect to hit a random party member with Reflect). Demon Wall has a crush attack that instakills a single party member each turn when it reaches the end. I am also perplexed that you were around LV 40 for the Fiends Rematch and somehow thought you needed to grind, yet you didn't even complain about the required grind for Zeromus. That rematch was EASY at 40, even blind. Playing blind, it'd take at minimum LV 60 for Zeromus (suggested 70 because you won't know the mechanics to kill him under LV 50). At least you figured out the puzzle for CPU in quick order, as you didn't even mention it.

FF2 was what I call the first story rich RPG I ever played that had a complex story laid out to you. Does it have flaws, yes. But it is still good. Also incredibly complex on the 3DS 3D version where you can play through 3 separate times in NG+!

Few nitpicks but don't have time, so just going to point out that the party didn't stay in the lands of summons for years, thus why they didn't age like rydia. Time moves faster in said Land but it is still linear

Did.... Did this game get a lot of hate? I played it way back on the SNES as FFII when it came out. Ive heard criticisms for it that certainly are valid, but i dont think ive ever heard hate for FFIV.

I’m currently playing the steam 3D steam version. I was super disappointed in the pixel remake.

Honestly all the other FF games that aren't Seven deserved AAA remakes

I do not think a masterpiece like 6 for an example needs a grand remake.

The PSP sprites look the best. Pixels remasters look horrible. Color is brightened and so much more BS
