what helped me a bit is increasing my settings to around medium rather than all low. My issue is that my game uses too much CPU at low settings causing me to freeze up sometimes. I have the 12600k and 4070 super so im pretty sure my CPU is EXTREMELY weak for my GPU in this game, so increasing my settings didn't really decrease my fps by much but made my game SOOOO much more stable 👍

I don't get as bad stutters in game as I do in creative. Seems like every few seconds my game freezes for a few split seconds and then will be fine for another 2 seconds and then freeze again. Creative is the main game mode I play as I prefer to just practice mechanics. Do you know of anything I can do to make it so that Fortnite is actually playable in creative?

@@johancalero7282 I just have to close my backround apps. That seems to help. Sometimes I’ll switch from performance mode to dx11 which ironically seems to help considering the fact that performance mode has dx11 in the background.

My HW configuration is near bottom of the barrel. Playing on a lowly AMD RX 6300 on a PCIe 2.0 mobo running an 4-core i5-3570 16GB DDR3 RAM, I would surprised how good the DirectX12 Fortnite performance is now. It was far, FAR better than the performance mode setting/engine experience. In terms of a low amount of shudders and surprisingly high frame rates in this new Remix map. I hope it continues with the new map/season.

I put my game on dx 12 stuttered for a couple of games (not big stutters) and froze a couple of times a game, after one day it all fixed it self and now its SO much better . So I recommend to put on dx 12 for now. From my expierience dx11 had the most stuttering performance mode had less but still was basically unplayable every fight it stuttered

I had this issue on performance mode and the only fix was to switch to dx12. Sure my frames are worse on average but it stops what peterbot was having in that clip (which I was having every 5 seconds).

this fascinates me more than it annoys me. graphics wise - this doesn't "look" like a very demanding game. its graphics is almost like World of Warcraft... before getting into this game I was sure I'd be able to play this in like 400fps but I guess I know nothing because the game must be super demanding.

This has nothing to do with shaders. EAC is swapping the games memory translation context every 10 seconds (also known as CR3 shuffling). That's whats causing the lag. There is nothing you can do to fix it until they update the anticheat.

Deleting the FortniteGame folder and clearing the shader cache actually helped the fps stutters for me i was having on dx12 and performance mode

So i been going back and forth using performance mode and DX12. and veil people say dx12 gives some input delay, it runs way smoother than performance, and 1% lows are more stable for me. Also cap fps, helps with the 1% lows. Also i read you should not have fullscreen optimization disabled in the exe for the game, veil using DX12, apparently when doing this veil usind DX12 it hinders dx12 to run optimized when in fullscreen mode and is one factor in giving more input delay. I have no idea if this is true, anyone that knows something of this?

i think its because fortnite has automatically switched you to dx12 (which is causing the startup crashes, dw it can be common) you can fix this temporarily by forcing the game into directx11. Do this: Open the Epic Games Launcher > In the top-right corner, click on the initial of your Display Name > Select Settings > Scroll down and expand Fortnite. Check the box for Additional Command Line Arguments > Type: -d3d11 > Relaunch Fortnite
