Honestly, Fortnite needs to stop making Chapters every year. People remember Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 because of how much time and change we got to go through with the island. It actually felt like the islands of Athena and Apollo were ones that we could connect greatly to because of how much went on with them. By relegating the Battle Royale islands to 4 seasons every chapter, it has made the islands of Artemis, Asteria, and Helios ultimately unmemorable in the long run, with the only real thing going for them being the vocal storytelling we had. And even that began becoming sparse for the most of Chapter 5.

I agree with this 100% I can’t really find as many memorable moments with chapter 3, 4, and so far 5 compared to 1, ( I didn’t play 2) but with how quick these chapters get released then scraped by the end of the year really takes away from that emotional attachment old and new players will try to obtain. Even sadder with the leaked info we got on how epic deals with Fortnite and its systems they are doing this intentionally and probably won’t change it.

I started in season 4 and the game is nothing like it was anymore. Like obviously it’ll change over years but it feels completely different like a separate game. Fortnite just used to be so unique and original doing things nobody had done before with cool unique graphics. I will say this current season is great but besides that it’s becoming generic. Epic for some reason has made really Stupid decisions since the end of OG like the baby update,changing the locker UI,getting rid of rarities,making BR a bit lifeless and putting less effort into BR because of The new modes.

I think the problem with Fortnite isn't even Fortnite itself. It's competitive. All the sweats complain when epic tries to add fun new things into battle royale. Sure last season may have been chaotic but that was the theme, it achieved what it was trying to. It's not Fortnite's fault that the sweats want to play Fortnite like an FPS rather than a unique shooter that has fun Mythics and gimmicks.

I don't think you necessarily understand what the competitive players wanted. They just wanted the loot pools to be split so pubs could be fun for people while ranked is still fair, which did end up happening but it happened far too late. I do wonder why epic didn't buff anything after the loot pools were split though.

I started playing in chapter 1 season 4 and the game is just incredibly different now. Obviously it’s gonna change over time but it just feels like a completely different game. Technically fortnite battle royale isn't even the main game mode. Before battle royale fortnite was fortnite save the world. Save the world was the only and main mode and right now still the main mode of the game. But they didn't get many players and seeing the succes of battle royale games they added it as a secondary mode which became super popular super quick and save the world is just dead at this point. But what the point is Epic pumped so much into the battle royale mode which made it popular. So maybe if they do the same to these other modes they'll become popular aswell. And tbh Fortnite lost it's identity long ago. The day it became a battle royale game was the day it losts it's identity.

@@Crooked__60 okay thats fair i get it that the downfall started in s10, mg favourite seasons are s7-s9 . i love the skins, ice king vendetta and lux are actually my top 3 and everything that came after was only disappointing as compared t that but the start of ch2 s1 , landing in the center island, during christmas when they covered the map with snow, and a good amount of ch2s2. i stopped playing around level 309 in that season and started playing more single player games like gow4 but still they were nice seasons. i would still count them as fortnite. then they removed skillbased matchmaking and killed youtubers like Fe4rless, they removed controller aim assist, started messing with the ui and bp layout. i hated fortnite from ch2 s4

Fortnite hasn’t felt like Fortnite since season 6

Fortnite essentially became a remixed Gary's mod for me. Which is kinda funny to think about since the original Fortnite was just Save the World mode, but they couldn't get people to spend that $40-some odd dollars entry fee for essentially a cartoony horde mode due to several shifting trends in the KZbin gaming scene. It was right around then when battle royals were really starting to hit the scene with huge hype. So in order to get some kind of fan base going, they hopped on the band wagon and made a battle royale mode that people could play for free just so they would at least try out the game and then maybe be willing to spend money for save the world. Oddly enough though, it would be the battle royale mode that brought the momentum that the game needed because Fortnight was the only battle royale game that had brighter colors and cartoony graphics, which grabbed alot of attention from younger kids. So Epic shifted gears, and Fortnite became the silly battle royal game it is where you can be a goofy banana and build a fort while still doing pvp. It's ironic to think that if not for how Fortnite was supposed to start with its save the world mode before becoming a battle Royale game, it never would have had that building feature that made Fortnite so popular and it probably would have just been another battle Royale Game and would probably have went under the radar like many others. The problem still is that Fortnite will always have it's success hinge on what's currently popular and trending at the time. Once the ever shifting trend finds something else to shift its focus on, Fortnites popularity will go with it. The very thing that gave its rise and success will also be its very downfall.

I’m trying to determine whether or not I should fully return to the game again cause I came back for a little bit up till the OG season and then gave up for the most part as the game just feels messy and I didn’t see a point in grinding it anymore. It always seems to revolve around collabs and any original cosmetics are just mediocre. Now that doesn’t mean some collabs aren’t cool, but there’s way too many. Rocket league type vehicles and modes do not belong in a battle royale game or in the item shop, even if they are just “modes.” The whole lego thing is just uninteresting because it has nothing to do with what fortnite really was. Weapons in the current season seem busted and movement is out of hand now. On top of that, epic removed skin rarities for reasons that are probably self-explanatory (upping prices on cosmetics) - it looks like they’ll never fail at showing just how money hungry they can be. Chapters lasting half the time they used to makes it feel way too quick.

TBH I feel the EXACT opposite to your opinions on the Festival and Rocket Racing topic, I find the rocket racing stuff competative in a fun way, coming from a guy who hates sweats, the drifts feel so good and the boosts feel so crazy when you get one off, while fortnite festival… I feel like there is a secret competative mode that just ruins the fun for me, either I play alone (boring) or I play with randoms and get satisfied and happy about my score just to have my happiness crushed by the two guys who got flawless all perfect hit notes… (It actually happened to me) Think of it like comparing grades in school, it’s not supposed to be competative in school, but still when you get satisfied with a grade you got on a test just to have your hopes and dreams crushed by the 2-4 people who got an A just because there wasn’t a grade over A

The main thing out of everything that I miss about old Fortnite is the simplicity. There were no crossovers. There sure weren't any other modes (Except for Creative and Save the World). It was just simply Fortnite. Now it's like you don't know what game it is due to all of the crossovers and not only that, but things like the mechanics in the game. Now I like the tac sprint and mantling and sliding and stuff don't get me wrong, but more than that I miss the days where that wasn't part of the game. Also I miss the old Fortnite storyline. Yes it's all the same story, but imo the storyline has gone downhill and has gotten really hard to follow. I just miss how simple things used to be

I personally think out of all 4 seasons in chapter 5, including the new marvel that is out right now. The first season was the most balanced. The first season was basic battle royal just with moded weapons. Season 2 was fun with the Greek god weapons. That was the start of things getting crazy. Then, the controversial season 3 happened. I'm just going to say. "IT WAS FUN AS HELL." At least in zero build. I switched to zero build when it got introduced. I've played every season since chapter 1 season 5. People complained about the cars, but if you had nitro fists and nitro, you could get away and find a new car. I loved it. Now we're in season 4. Yikes. It's not meant for zero build. If you have all three war machine items, it's like dealing with the mechs. This includes a machine gun and rockets combo, a jet pack, and a turret that homes in on opponents. You're basically screwed if you come across this combo, and all 3 can be used at the same time. And god forbid your opponents have all 3 and a medallion that gives siphon for eliminations. I'm having a hard time. I started ranked, and it's really hard. You get destroyed real quick if you don't have the right arsenal. That's my 2 cents. Least the battle pass is amazing.

It has also inadvertently become my main mode. 😅👌🏻It's also introducing new people to that genre and style of game. It's growing a good bit! I'll be honest Fortnite lost it's identity to me a bit past Ch. 2 Season 4 but it wanes back in every once in a while, however, they also don't hide the fact they are leaning towards being in it for the money rather than the community ever since the overwhelming battle pass collab train that started during Ch. 2 Season 2 onwards as well as Fortnite ending support for STW. It does not surprise me how their original vision was Save The World and a couple of years later they finally killed it off with Battle Royale as they completely stopped working on it due to being unable to dedicate any time to it, already losing a bit of it's identity there (and they never made it free like they said they would). They killed off ACTUAL secret skins and creative skins in nearly every battle pass from Ch. 2 Season 2 and beyond (although Ch. 2 Season 2 and Ch. 2 Season 3 weren't AWFUL with collab skins and they were just secret skins. This is not hating on seasons such as Ch. 2 Season 4 or Ch. 5 Season 4, but the amount of collabs we get is still ridiculous, ESPECIALLY in the battle passes). It lost the charm in it's style as it became more focused on being "realistic"-ish, it now has an over-abundance of modes that aren't needed or even played NEARLY as often as BR (which in all honesty, I love all three modes, but they still were not at ALL needed) which I can bet that if one of those modes got popular enough they'd just pull the plug on Battle Royale like they did with Save The World, we lost frequent LTM's that they can easily re-run, we lost unique and fun items over time, and more. So in all honesty, coming from someone who's played Battle Royale nearly since the day it dropped (Toward the end of Ch. 1 Season 1), Fortnite already lost it's original identity with killing off Save The World and I'm honestly not shocked it's losing it's new one.

In my opinion, the game loses its identity when it loses its simplicity. We see this at the beginning of every single Chapter. The Chapters all start off with a simple map and loot pool, and it has an insane amount of hype every single time. But as those seasons progress, the story gets more and more ridiculous. More biomes continue to be added, overpopulating the island. Insanely overpowered items, especially with the new Marvel Season. The sweats are off the charts in every game I play. Lastly, the item shop has had practically no new items in months. They continue to re-release the same ten or so bundles every few days. I've never seen someone with the April O'Neil skin, Epic Games, so PLEASE stop putting in the item shop to take up the space of another bundle. On another note, they really locked themselves in with the way the map is. Grim Gate, the Underworld, Mount Olympus, and Battleground should all be removed from the game or replaced with something new. I am tired of seeing many of the same locations for an entire chapter. It makes the game feel indifferent for however long it lasts. I hope they tone it down for a while and make the game feel how it used to feel back in Chapter 1.

First off lego mode: The lego mode isn't bad, and it's not really a copy of Minecart because it's a "SAND BOX." Lego Fortnite too me, is Lego enough. The land might not be Lego enough, but everything else is. The weapons, the builds, the animals, the charaters, they are all Lego. All the lego mode needs are updates, just like Minecart. Do you think minecart was fun when it first came out, i didn't think so, so now let's move on to Rocket Racing. Rocket Racing: This isnt a bad mode you just can't make every racing game into Mario Kart, and some of the maps are really fun and creative but you wouldnt know because you only want to play it for xp. I understand not liking something, but it doesn't mean bad. Music: good

Well this has been their plan for a long time. The "creative" push, other modes and crossovers, but as long as they keep doing crossovers with marvel/starwars/anime etc, theyll never lose the core audience of children and manchilds. Sad but very true.

The story of chapter 5 started of 🔥 Peely being kidnapped, the underground, allat was so good! Chapter 5 s2 was even better but, where's the story, what the, where did megaoldon come from. Doctor Doom!? Wtf!? The story js gone but this shouldn't distract us from the 🔥 gameplay. Also I think I have a theory of what epic is going for. They're gonna keep bringing back old seasons snd stuff and the season after that one is gonna be about time rifts or smthn. Idk I had this theory since chapter OG and never knew how to explain it

Fortnite lost its indenting at the start of Chapter 5. The guns are all realistic while before you’d just get random cartoon guns. We haven’t had a cartoon gun since the Rocket Ram in Ch 4 Season 4 not counting the og season.

Lego Fortnite is not "just minecraft" Last I checked, minecraft is built with large blocks and there's no vehicles, temperature system, it has an unlimited world, etc. Lego is closer to scrap mechanic and valheim, please do your research for these kinds of things. You can't compare two different games if they aren't the same subgenre. People don't compare starfield to no man's sky seriously because one is an RPG and the other is an exploration sandbox. Don't do that here. Also, play more racing games.

In chapter 1, the map was the main feature, not the loot pool. It was a game of survival. Now, the loot pool is the main feature and chaos and destruction is how you play. That’s why I don’t like the new Fortnite. It’s not the same game 😠
