The biggest problem is the OGs trying to gatekeep the old battle passes. Because they’re scared that “fake OGs” will be more common. Like tf does that even mean? Who cares, really? Let me play as Deadpool instead of the fake ones that are in the item shop. I also think the challenge event rewards should be in the item shop. I missed the slushee backbling from No Sweat Summer. They should either bring back the event or put it in the item shop. I’m fine with either one.

Everyone knows the pain of discovering a skin that looks cool that you want. Only to discover it was from the battle-pass. Heck with the release of Festival and it using battle-pass skins for the stage NPCs like DJ Yonder, Highwire, Meow skulls and Selene there are going to be people that are annoyed about them not being obtainable again.

But then you realize that any other joe can buy the preorder bonuses later on as DLC, now of they make another game you'll just wait instead of preordering because it's supposed to be your reward for buying the game early. If you take that away most people wouldn't preorder it. Its just like with Battle passes and limited time skins, they *COULD* bring those back for lots of money but they don't for the respect for their audience. They built a relationship with their players to where they wouldn't bring back a certain skin just because that's their reward for giving the game the time of day while everyone else didn't care about fort. Epic loves money, everyone does, but the fact they don't go back on their word with exclusive skins shows the audience that they mean business if a skin is limited time and they get it before it's over. Them bringing back battle passes as item shop purposes would definitely devalue their purpose because thats your reward for playing the game at that time, and it's your way of saying "I waa playing since blank chapter" I started off on chapter 3, there are a lot of skins from previous Bps im missing and wanted but im not gonna beg them to bring them back. At least they compromise by giving us different variants In the item shop.

Maybe they should let you pay extra for the previous season’s battle pass. Let’s say it’s s8. You can buy the s7 battle pass for double~ the price until the end of season 8. At the start of s9, you can no longer buy s7, but you can buy s8 still (with the markup). While typing this I realise how kinda dumb my idea sounds, but it seems like our best bet is to just let people finish battle passes they bought after the season ends and to stop putting collabs in them.

I thought Halo Infinite handled the battlepass system the best, sure it’s not a perfect game but they handle battlepasses quite well. Each season is permenant and can be bought at any time, regardless of if you played it or not, like if you started at let’s say on the third battlepass, you could buy the previous two if you wanted. Weaponising FOMO just somewhat proves that gaming companies that actually pay attention to their communities don’t really care about their players as much we thought they would.

Honestly, people only tend to use a couple of their favorite skins, their oldest skin, or a skin from the current or last battle pass. The amount of battle pass skins that are just wasting away in people's lockers is massive. Epic could evolve Fortnite: OG into a rotating selection of older seasons, maybe limited to the first chapter at first, where players will have time to do an accelerated season, and past players are able to earn super level styles, or remixed skins. The major necessity is that the original players who played that season's battle pass have something to play as well.

As someone who has every single battle pass maxed out (except Ch1 S2-3), I wouldn't mind if they would rerelease battle passes. It is VERY annoying to be missing black knight and the reaper no matter what I do, I wouldn't even mind paying double for the battle passes to grind for once. I just like to collect cosmetics, I don't really care about rarity at this point. There were times where I wanted to just take a break from the game, but FOMO works way to well. If I miss a BP, i'll never get it again

@@TB11484 But how does it "screw over" anyone, it is a skin of a character, it means literally nothing, if you're talking about the value of skins, technically you aren't allowed to sell accounts with rare skins anyways, nobody actually loses anything, plus they might give out a compensation reward like they did when skull trooper got rereleased, with a special variant for original users. I also played day 1, i have the maxed out ch1. s3 and 4 battle pass skins, i would not care at all if they made those skins available once more.

I'm glad this conversation is being brought up again, as someome who came for Dragon Ball during Vibin', I missed out on a lot of stuff that I would've liked since I was part of that "Fortnite bad" hate circle back when it got popular even when I was the same age of the people that were being "cringe"(also bc I didn't like building). So seeing that I can't get Rick Sanchez or Spider-Man or missing Spider-Gwen from not buying the bp and taking a break during her season from burnout is such a frustrating feeling(especially with the stuff I got from the free part of the pass). So, I hope they come up with some solution that pleases the majority of sane people that don't throw a fit over "rare" skins or "being there first".

Epic very much promotes the idea of account selling when they advertise exclusively in these cosmetics. Yet it’s against tos and it causes problems. When I say it promotes account selling, I mean they literally advertise these skins as valuable and rare and of course that encourages people to buy accounts. I understand why epic doesn’t want skins to be traded or sold but it makes no sense to promote exclusively while simultaneously restricting elements that will come with that exclusivity. The issue of account selling is strictly on epic for promoting this culture around their skins.

It's honestly baffling Epic hasn't resold battle passes yet. There are people who buy accounts third party to have the skins they want, meaning they'll spend more money than Epic would charge for money that's not even going to them. As a new player I'd like to let Epic know that their kneecapping the amount of replayability the game has for me if half the characters I would want to rep and be willing to pay them for are locked away with no way to get them back. My brother said he might bee willing to play if he could get the Peter Griffin skin, well he can't so that's one less player keeping the game running. As someone who signed on for the Avatar event, I'm not mad when I see another Aang, I'm happy we both appreciate a series I really enjoy. Besides, they're really shooting themselves in the foot not having a way to sell people, say, Deadpool right when the new movie comes out, or Spider man whenever the next movie is.

Epic could totally do this, and from a business standpoint, really should. Not only would it boost their already insane revenue, but get more players playing consistently to get the skins they missed. Another thing it would do is make their competitors panic and scramble from the huge shakeup. I feel the only people that would be against this would be a vocal minority of people who don't realize how much Epic took advantage of their FOMO, or account sellers. I 100% agree with this. As a player, I had a stacked account the first chapter. But my account randomly got deleted for no given reason in chapter 2. A bigger mental hurdle than just missing out on skins like these? Losing them. Some of my favorite skins to wear were just lost forever, and I couldn’t do anything about it. So I really hope they bring back old battle pass skins, so I, and m many, many others with similar experiences, could get those skins back and relive the glory days of Fortnite.

I absolutely agree with this. Everyone should have the chance in a way or another to enjoy and play old skins at any time, make them "exclusive" it only generate frustration to who is starting playing right now Fortnite and as you say the consequence to make something "exclusive" (in this case Fortnite skins) create "black markets" where accounts are sold for insanely prices. Epic can easily make much more money selling the old skins individually in the shop than sell the pass, period.

I agree with you because it sucks I can’t play as Deadpool, Peely, Mandalorian, Superman, Wolverine, Spider-Man or any others just because I couldn’t play during the time. You’re also right on how it isn’t the same with different versions of the characters being the replacement for the battle pass versions so it does really suck to have some of the most iconic characters from media or even Fortnite’s own characters vaulted because it was only available for a limited time.

In my opinion licensed cosmetics should be available in the shop at a later date for the regular price where as anyone who earned them from the pass could be given a unique style for it (gold outfits, flames, mist etc) to keep some exclusivity plus they technically got it at a reduced price of 950 assuming you didn’t buy levels. Personally I’d much rather they do like what Halo does where all passes are available buy and work on at any time or at least let you finish any you’ve previously bought but I think this would work as a compromise.

The real solution is to just stop putting collabs in battle passes and to let players finish their already-purchased battle passes after the season ends. That way collab skins aren’t lost to new players and people don’t have to grind on the last day of a season for lvl 100. Because, even after a *long* time, people will hate their exclusives returning.

I own every battlepass since chapter 1 season 4 and i am very open any of those battlepasses, skins, emotes or whatever being for sale again. I hate exclusives when it comes to time, or tied into something you had to buy, or some playstation pack and etc. Exclusives IMO should be for a year maybe and then sell it in the shop. It will help us to from having these same crappy shops over and over with the same skins over and over and give a lot more to the shop. They should just switch to the Halo Infinite Battle pass system with a bit of tweaks: Allow every old battle pass to be purchasable. Every past battle pass should cost around 1500-2000 vbucks. You can pick any one battle pass to “prioritize” (basically where you’re putting your xp/battle stars in) per season. You can switch between them whenever, just know that switching them means the previously selected battle pass will stop earning xp/battle stars (or switch all battle passes to the battle stars system so they can become universally used as one “old pass battle stars” currency you get from level up and you can purchase any item from any pass bought so long you’ve bought everything from the previous pages of the pass). So with one active pass at a time, players can spend the season earning stars and buying items from old passes using the stars gained from level up. Any old battlepasses bought don’t need to be rebought and keep their old progress (so long as the xp and stars and stuff translates well). All battlepasses keep progress of where they are and can be completed anytime, so long as they are in “priority.” This seems like the easiest option to me. Now how about new current season battle passes? How will they work? Well they can kinda just keep doing what they’re doing now but use extra incentives: Current season battle passes will always be at the “discounted” price (so since it’s CH5 S1, the CH5 S1 battlepass will be 950 vbucks for the whole season) until the season ends, incentivizing people to purchase battle passes NOW rather than LATER. Basically keeps the FOMO aspect they love to use against their customers so much without actually changing the price on current battle passes. Also, current battle passes wouldn’t count towards the “priority” limit. I think a phenomenal incentive would be allowing people to work on 2 passes at once, the current one and any old one of your choosing. This allows players to feasibly “catch up” on any old battlepasses while also being able to work on the new ones. If they switch to an all battle stars system, they can separate them by giving you 5 “current season” battle stars and 5 “any old season” battle stars per level up BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE CURRENT SEASON PASS. Basically, if you buy the pass now, you get to purchase it at a lower price AND can work on any old battle pass alongside with it. They can also make the super styles current-season exclusives but that’s kinda iffy since you can argue that they’re crucial to old passes too but whatever. If they’re really greedy they can make it so only current season passes have vbucks as rewards but again that can cause some outrage as well. This works the best for everyone since anybody who likes new battle passes will be able to work on them straight from the get go and are rewarded for purchasing them in the same season they’re released in since they get to buy it at their “lower”price and get the opportunity to work on another pass as well. This will push people on the fence on purchasing new passes since they don’t have to worry about feeling like they’re wasting their time and if they kinda want to buy it then it’s better to buy it now since it’s cheaper. People who don’t want to buy the new passes can work on old ones one at a time, that way they will still be encouraged to play the game and complete quests during the new current season. This will retain so many players as they won’t skip out on playing the game for seasons on end just because the battle pass rewards are uninteresting to them or the new season map sucks or the meta sucks or literally any other reason to not play. This gives players the freedom to work on whichever passes they want whenever they want, but also keeps a sense of FOMO where it’s encouraged to buy the pass now if you’re interested rather than later. But if you do change your mind, you can always get it later, just know that there’s a bigger price to pay. Also they’re definitely going to need to make more quests and lengthen the milestone ones for each season to account for people completing multiple passes in one season but that doesn’t seem too difficult of an accommodation to me.

Okay I've only played this most recent season (C5S1) so idk if every battle pass is structured this way, but even if they only released the battle pass rewards and not the bonus rewards and secret skin (solid snake for this season) I feel that would be fair. But truthfully, from a casual player standpoint, grinding at all isn’t really fun or worth it. Lets be honest Fortnite is not a very fun and engaging game to play alone. Unless you can play with friends it will give massive burnout very easily and not only that but new players will never get the chance in the first place whether they are willing to grind or not. (Thats not even taking into account that life can happen and get in the way) its fortnite skins, skins on a game. It should be fun not exhausting.
