The 2024 Essence Festival of Culture will feature a special tribute to honor Frankie Beverly and his legendary soul group Maze. This tribute is particularly significant as Maze featuring Frankie Beverly has been an integral part of the festival since its inception in 1995, serving as the closing act for the first 15 years
This tribute comes as Frankie Beverly, now 77 years old, is on a farewell tour and approaching retirement. The group's last appearance at the Essence Festival was in 2019.

So now the other version of Maze that is comprised of the OG band (to the greatest extent possible) will be in competition with this version that is now without Frankie. It’s like an almost even playing field now that FB isn’t performing. But, I think the other version with the OG band wins. I would rather see them.
