Why Franky's New Shoe Might NOT BE WORTH Buying...

Franky Villani has had his own colour-ways on a few different New Balance shoes over the years BUT he has FINALLY got his very own Pro Model shoe for New Balance 🥳
Although I'm not someone that really skates mids or highs, I definitely needed to make an exception for this sick looking shoe from one of my favourite skaters!
And I've been riding his Pro Model egg shaped board from Primitive for the last 2 weeks so it'll be heaps cool to ride his Pro Model board and his first Pro Model shoe at the same time

The sizing is wild, I had a pair of the 272’s and sized up half a size, because I knew they came up small, I had to go up a full size for the Franky’s. They took me a while to get used to with flip tricks too, but they look sick and my feet feel protected. One thing I will say, it’s summer here in the northern hem, these shoes do not breathe.

Got a pair a few weeks ago and was very surprised, walked around in them for a while then went skating. The have very nice board feel and landing in them on flat ground and small stuff feels nice and cozy. Would def recommend! I'll be getting another pair when the time comes!

I recently realized It’s not only about the height but also the stability of a shoe. I have bad ankles and normally wear high tops but i got nb808 since everyone was saying they’re super stable. Never rolled my ankle in them. Wore them down got adidas forums, rolled my ankle twice, got nb1010 no rolled ankles so far.

That rail with the yellow and black walls on it play a weird trick on your mind. They’re easier to learn on because they feel safer than a stand-alone rail even though it’s really no different. It also looks like less of a feat for the same reason, even though it’s no different. Weird. Never thought about that

Definitely bias but I had to be honest about what I didn't like with the shoes lol It was definitely worth the drive but maybe next time we'll go in summer since it was so damn cold down there! 🥶

Thanks dude, appreciate that heaps 🙏🏼 I honestly have the most whack stance when it comes to inward heels 😂 pretty much have my feet together and try and pop it straight up, it usually ends up looking like a pressure flip but I don't know how to do it any other way lol

I have the white and green colorway and I think these are my favorite shoes I have owned. They are tanks and only showing minimal wear after about 2 weeks of skating them.

That colour way looks sick but they are leather right? Yeah dude, mine didn't show any parts of wearing out after a full day skating in them so I feel like these shoes will last a really long time 👌🏼

I have the same thing happened (feet sliding towards the toe box). I think it’s the heel padding that has you slightly pitched forward. Not that big of a deal, I don’t go flying down stair sets 😂

I just bought the Tom Knox 440 and they’re super comfortable but the blue leather is so loud haha for someone who’s only ever worn conventional skate shoes

Hey Leon, love your content a lot! regarding to the inner insole I sprained my ankle very badly with the Foy's (which apparently have the same ones as Franky's) .I noticed that the inner insole raise my heel more than usual which increase the chances to roll the ankles and squish my toes too ( same shoe size as other NB but feel smaller). Not really sure if the injurie was caused because of the inner insole or the size of the shoe...did you experience any of this issues too? Thanks and big hug from Spain.

Thanks heaps dude 🙏🏼 Damn, that sucks man! Yeah they both have the same "ABZORB' insole but I guess Franky's shoe being a mid cut, your foot would feel like it fits deeper and your ankle is locked in and supported more too. I didn't feel that problem in the Foy shoes but I've skate Vans a whole lot in my time and their Ultra Cush sole is pretty thick and makes your foot sit the same way so I might just be used to that feeling 🤔

I would say the GT Blazers are better dude! I've never had a problem with those shoes at all and low cut shoes definitely feel more natural and comfortable to me 👌🏼

I have the all white pair. I love Franky Villani but got zamn they hurt the tip of my right big toe, I thought my foot just wasn't for the 417 but apparently that's the shoes' hot spot for everyone. besides it being unwearable it was a good shoe for two days. too painful for me

They aren't super wide but they don't squish your feet or feel too narrow at all 👌🏼 It was only when I was jumping down bigger stairs that I felt like the shoes were squishing my feet and my big toe was getting pushed into the tip of the shoe

The skatepark I grew up skating had a really long flat bar so over the years I just learnt how to lock in on rails really well and how to hold my grinds as long as I could 👌🏼

Damn really I ordered 2 pairs of the adidas Puig indoor shoe and honestly the the worst shoe I’ve ever had on my feet, heel didn’t lock in at all and just had a terrible shape in general, so on the first day of wearing, the foxing tape on the white one started to detach from the upper and I was like hell no, I work in an office, barely any walking and hadnt skated in it yet, so I wrote CCS a lengthy email on how crappy of a product this was and how it was pretty much defective in my eyes, they ended up taking it back and giving me my money back. But yah dude I think if you would’ve contacted customer service and told them a sale shoe is not the same as a beat up shoe they probably would’ve understood and given you the return.

Either way, thats like a 100+ dollar skateboard shoe..which is insane to me because skate shoes are made to thrash..for skating,I always buy shoes that are on sale, usually in the 50-60 dollar range...no need to break the bank for a shoe that will get destroyed in a matter of months.
