Why Fred and George Weasley Never Saw Peter Pettigrew on The Marauder's Map ? (Harry Potter Theory)

one of my favourite Easter eggs in Harry Potter exist in The Prisoner of Azkaban. The movie introduced us to two amazing magical objects, the time turner and the Marauder’s Map which is the subject of today’s video. The map is an extremely important object in the series. But there are a few things about it that don't make a whole lot of sense and present some interesting questions. Like what was Newts Scamander doing in the Map or how did Fred & George Weasley figure out the password of the map. And also may be one of the biggest plot holes in the Prisoner of Azkaban. How come Fred & George never noticed Peter Pettigrew roaming Hogwarts disguised himself as Ron's pet Scabbers, how couldn’t they see that their brother was sleeping with another man for years.
So we’ll dive into it and discuss every possibility of this theory.

Harry, Ron, George, and Fred couldn't see Peter, not because he was a rat at the time, but, because the four I mentioned, and the original four, couldn't be seen on it. Harry & co, couldn't see Peter because they were a different party. Just a thought.

I think it's just because Ron shared a room with a lot of classmates and because they didn't know the significance of the name, they just didn't care. It was just one random name among many...

Nah they would know whos in Ron's domitory. Also they would have seen someone right next to Ron not in another bed. Additionally, they would have most likely recognised peter's name and even if they didn't they would wonder who this guy peter pettigrew was sleeping with his brother

@@zkstudio7031 yes plus don't forget, Scabbers was Percy's rat before so they should have seen Peter since their first year sleeping with Percy and later Ron.

In my opinion Fred and George didn't know who he was so they didn't and possibly thought the map was malfunctioning or maybe they never spied on Ron

I haven’t read PoA in a while, but didn’t Snape see Lupin on the Map? According to this theory he couldn’t have seen him. If not, then how did he reach the shrieking shack at the end of the book?

theory is that they can be seen in their animagus form except the if one of maruders use it lupin was human when he saw him in the map

I think this theory also can explain, why Harry saw Peter on the map. The map recognized Harry as James (or maybe the map knew, that Harry is James's son).

Interesting theory. I support the theory but wish to add something- I think you would only see in the map, witches and wizards whom you know or knows about. Maybe you can see on the map only people who are significant for you rather you like them or not. So it make sense for Harry to see Albus Dumbledore, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger (people that he loves) and also Draco Malfoy (which he hates). Because Hogwarts contains hundreds of people in a time, there is no chance you get to know everyone. So by that logic the ones you don't know won't appear on the map.

don't think so since at 4:39 it says the map can track every person in the castle not just the ones who you know + that map would be so useless to the makers of the Marauder's Map since they would be screwed if they run into some random person that they didnt know in the dead of night and get caught for it

That's a seriously nice theory, but it has its own problems. For example, what would have happened if one of the four and someone else were looking at the map? Which rule would i follow?

The first one isn't true, Harry sees Peter pedigree on the map and that tips him off, I like to think it's the second one, and that Harry can see Peter because he is James blood

Harry only sees Peter on the map in the movies it’s an error, in the book it’s Lupin who sees Peter after he confiscated it. I think only the marauders can see other marauders on the map.

one thing that doesn't make sense about ur theory is that lupin saw peter on the map when he was an animal but part of ur theory was only in human for they would be seen so how would lupin see him then?
