I'll never forget sitting, trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my life and my clinical depression. I stumbled on this video, n fell in love with pocari, her enthusiasm, upbeat nature was just what I needed. I decided that if life wasn't giving me a path, to make my own set of stairs to climb. Its been 3 years since I joined the furry fandom, now im a marketing manager for a furry convention and strive to bring furries together in my own local communities! I run tables for our con at other conventions, I help enlighten people who don't quite understand what furries are. All those people ive helpped, all because of a single furry in Australia! You do more then you know Pocari! You saved me, and I will forever be thankful for giving me this wonderful furry adventure!

Hmmm.... I think another positive this fandom does is make people more physically active! For suiters, at least. The best way to build up heat endurance is to be physically fit, and honestly I probably wouldn't run as much as I do if I wasn't a suiter. Plus, suiting itself is basically a workout! When you're bouncing around in character, you move around much more than you would normally. It's also harder to breathe, so you get some extra cardio in there! Last but not least, DANCE. Dance comps and floor wars are staples at conventions, and dancing (especially in suit) is wonderful exercise and wicked fun! Like, seriously. Everyone should dance. Even if you think you're bad at it. Motor skills are learned skills!

Thinking about it myself. Currently, Im just being a normal german human at the age of 19, preparing for my A levels. It is weird, I think I found Pocaris Channel randomly a few months ago, and I thought "What the heck....is he doing? Well never mind, seems strange, but what does not to an uninformed eye?". Well.... And then I thought about them (cuz I am the kind of person who randomly eats whole books just because the cover was interesting; I am a walking dictionary of random knowledge), about myself and god knows what else. Too much thinking done - aargh. I've always been a person with great imagination, although inside my head it's super abstract. I couldn't put even 50% of what I think into words, even if I wanted. So yeah, that is basically me, a confused teen with some mild, if not really relevant social anxiety, being about as introvert and atheist as you can get, and unsure of almost everything aside of these four properties of itself. Oh, and anyone knows Blödhgarm? (One of the elves from the Eragon books/The Inheritance Cycle?) God I love that character.

Not gonna lie I think I'm converted. Anthropomorphic animals can be just so gosh darn cute and I think the concept is really neat. I'm personally quite an advocate for breaking away from societal norms and being confident in oneself, and I really do see that in this community, which I love. (Also I mean I was a total animal fan as a child. I would only read books about animals and I'd act like cats, wolves, and owls all the time XD) So congrats you guys- you've gained another! Furries have actually brought me out of a 3 year long depressive episode recently. I still suffer from depression and have to take anti-depressants to be allowed to live at home, but whenever I feel shitty, or even suicidal, I think back to the fandom. So many times ive felt completely on the edge and I've just said "just finish this piece of art" or "you're almost done with this new suit" and by the time I finish what I need to, I feel so much better! The furry fandom became my coping mechanism and since I've joined it, I've never been so healthy and alive! I used to suffer horribly from anxiety disorder, it mainly prevented me from talking to people (I know its cliche) but after I joined the fandom, and met a lot of other people with this disorder, I began to break out of my shell. Ive stopped having panic attacks, I'm able to perform in front of a crowd, and I can do so many phenomenal things that I never even though possible! This fandom saved my life and I could never leave! I may even link this video to my boyfriends mother (she is very against furries and thinks they're all pedophiles and rapists :/) this video explains furries beautifully!

I have a fursona called Trico (she's a girl...). She has the body of a wolf, wolf paws, fennec fox ears with coloured tips, cat whiskers and cheetah eye markings, 2 star markings on her head, and husky head markings. She also has a dragon tail, and feathered wings. Her spikes down her back glow blue, and she is mainly a brown and grey colour, with white and black, and her eyes are green and purple.

this may be a old comment but that is great and i made my own variety of creatures the gem-gifted. basically a gem-gifted creature is a creature who became friends with a gem golom and soon after being friends the creature changes to a half crystal being and my sonas is one. gem golom's name Gerald i love him so much he is so simple to create.

Couldn't agree more with all your points Pocari! I personally find the best thing about the furry community, is just being able to relate to other people. At school, it's hard to fit in with other people sometimes because we don't always like the same things as others do. Just being able to communicate and relate to others online who are just like us, all over the world, it's just pretty damn amazing really xD Everyone is so accepting, friendly and talented here, it makes me truly proud of being a part of this fandom, no matter what misconceptions others might have about it

I personally am not a furry myself but someone I really love is. But I believe furries are hated sometimes because people sometimes see the over-sexualized parts of the fandom which all fandoms have but this is more seen as weird as strange to some people.
