Georgie your sage advice is spot on: Tackle small tasks with a plan for the future. I had to break a lifetime habit of trying to do too much at once, resulting in becoming overwhelmed. Gardening is indeed a therapy- each day I find something to give me joy. Thank you for sharing your skills.

Tank you for this film! Sometime you need a reminder of what you are doing and why. It must be lovely to have a warm corner like that, where plants can continue to grow even in november. I live in Sweden (Uppsala) and grow a lot of vegetables and flowers. It gives me energy and happiness.

Thank you for recognizing that many of us need help coping with today's world. I am truly frightened about the changes coming in the next four years and will need to spend far less time with the news and devote more attention to creative endeavors. My garden may actually benefit from this change .

Watercolour painting your flowers during the winter helps a lot, too. Painting Christmas cards is a good hobby at this time of year. They don't have to be perfect, friends and family appreciate the personal touch. Good luck and lots of hugs 🇨🇦

I lost my job of 10 years, My whole 20+ design career was over, I wasn't getting any new jobs, due to my age I think, finally I found flower farming, it has saved my life, literally. I am so grateful to have found your channel and a new 'career'. The boost to mental health of a garden cannot be understated.

When i am feeling overwhelmed with the number of jobs i need to do in the garden, I set the timer on my watch for an hour. Tackle one job at a time and then move on to the next. It's surprising how much you can achieve. Have a good gardening week.

I'm a great fan of setting a timer and getting on - you're right it's amazing how much more one can get done than one thinks when working like that. x

Many non-news or politics KZbinrs stay away from mentions of that. While you didn't mention politics, there are a lot of us gardening souls in the not-so-USA that will probably just disappear into our gardens for the next four years (hopefully that will be all). It is our solace, and as another poster mentioned: the neighbors get tomatoes (or flowers, or whatever we grow). Thank you Georgie! I can't believe this is happening to us.😵💫

As gardeners we have all come to the realization that in everything in life, we can do our VERY BEST yet can never truly guarantee the outcome. Nothing is assured except for change. Wonderful surprises in unexpected places, having to adapt when things don't go "to plan". But the one thing that all gardeners share in bucketful's is HOPE. So keep hoping, keep smiling, and keep gardening:).

Great video! Personally, I have to stay away from the news, too negative and sensational (USA). Also, I have a stressful job with an ongoing caseload, so I go outside into the garden as much as possible. It's my therapy, and I'm able to do things where I see results (progress), even if it's just weeding a bed or cutting flowers to bring indoors. Being out in the natural world, the beauty of Creation, has always lifted my spirits. The seasons, and the creativity each one inspires, are good for this gardener's soul. Promise, yes!

My neighbours grow chillies and the Jackdaws were pinching them and I saw a Jackdaw eating one on their roof! 😂 The way you knowingly re-adjusted your glasses after reciting the poem said everything. 😉 Next year I'm on a mission to make everything in our garden dog friendly as Zephyr likes to explore the world with his mouth and he's made some very poor culinary choices this year! 💩 🤢 🤦 I love your pink hoodie, that shade really suits you! 🩷

(No complaints- we need it as always) So out to the garden we go I like your advise to do small tasks that will bring satisfaction. So I plan to pot up some tulips and daffs. Next - broom cobwebs off porches etc. Then use the new deer repellant spray that is suppose to hold up in the rain. The fog has lifted and the sun is shining. Can't help but lift my spirits.. Love the P’s. They cover it all, including, for me, the meeting of neighbors as they walk their dogs or themselves past my home. Often admiring something currently blooming, it is a pleasure for both of us to share the plants in my garden. Once asked if I didn’t mind being stopped all the time from my work. I’ve found that those conversations make up the most lovely part of my day.

Hello from New Zealand, different season with summer on it’s way. Really enjoying your content. We have a small suburban plot. Two years ago after retiring I searched the house for tomato seeds. Most packets said they were past their date but I germinated them anyway. Raised 123 plants. Was hilarious, with the help of my husband, a creative, we found spaces, most were in plastic plant pots. Huge crop, freezer full, neighbours happy and me coming to terms with such a huge change having been in the workforce for 50 years. Hands in the soil is a game changer.
