Great secrecy shrouded Genghis Khan’s funerary procession as his body was carried north and buried somewhere in in the Khentii Province of Mongolia in an unmarked grave in accordance with his express wishes. It was said that after burial thousands of cavalry was ridden over the area he was buried making the exact spot indistinguishable from the surrounding terrain. Some records indicate a forest was planted there to help disguise the location, but this is unlikely for the terrain isn’t a naturally forested area and to do so would actually draw attention to the area.
