Welcome back! Thanks for posting more of George Carlin! It's great to see someone of your generation enjoying his work so much. He was one of a kind, and greatly missed.

No religion. No laws based on religion. That's what the constitution says. All supposed to be separate. But they all are not separate. Glad to see you back Georgia. Always put a smile on my face
@Hexon66 Жыл бұрын
That's not exactly what it says. It says Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Which is intentionally vague. And basically just too keep one set of religionists from abusing other religionists. Nor did the Declaration of Independence actually mean that all men are created equal. Just that non-royals (i.e. colonials) have the same rights to form a government as the Crown. Doesn't even dare to be hypocritical, as most people, including Carlin's bit, presume.
@Nordic1972 Жыл бұрын
@@Hexon66 I would say it's fairly clear. People fought and won when it came to taking prayer out of schools and the courthouses. Separation of state and religion means exactly what it says as far as I have seen.

Well you've gotten a hell of a lot better at this - so much more relaxed and less anxious/nervous. Bravo. Now comes the right yet hard part: maintaining your authentic self in the face of the entire planet, including AI bots, judging, criticizing, condemning, and later on, depending on your further success, possibly digging up something you said as a **toddler** to try and cancel you because you said/did something that upset someone's bottom line. Process and selectively accept and incorporate only after much consideration those aspects of the criticisms given that harmonize with your reasoning and conscious (that's crazy hard as it's a hell of a balancing act - you many many times don't want to even hear that what you actually should. Separating the wheat from the chaff is insanely difficult). Point being, you are young and just beginning. Be it actor, You-tuber, or both, whichever direction you go, never "just bend over" to whatever some possible (may not be) asshole comments, including me.

Don't apologise, Georgia. When one apologises for actions beyond themselves, they lose oneself in the apology..never apologise for something you didn't make by thine own action...if you fucked-up, you fucked-up...hey! Look on the brightside, that's we call "learning"...beyond that, go fuck yourself and that's the attitude, don't let anyone try to make you do something that's outside of the self.

George was right about advertisting. Ads have a habit of telling you what you want to hear, regardless of whether it's true. Then they hide the truth in easy-to-miss fine print and quickly-narrated footnotes so they can't be accused of lying. The rule of thumb is if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Georgia, just remember the last time you did something wrong. Did you need someone to tell you it was wrong? Or did you just feel that it was wrong? The point being that we instinctively know what is right and wrong because we feel it.

@ramudon2428 Жыл бұрын
Definitely watch him, so you have experienced what that feels like. For me, Durham is a big reminder that while some like the Wire and Schindler's List, an alarming number of people much prefer the likes of ex on the beach and keeping up with the Kardashians. Definitely worth experiencing just to get the broader horizon.

Except more people have been killed in the name of religion than any other reason
@Hexon66 Жыл бұрын
So, you're saying the reason you don't go around killing people is because there's a 50/50 chance you'll go to hell for it? You might need some more time working that philosophy out.
@ramudon2428 Жыл бұрын
The probability isn't even remotely that high, considering all the alternatives. Even if we were to consider the Abrahamic religions to be the only religions, and you'd only have "god or not god", the probability isn't a fifty fifty split, there's still a terribly terribly low chance you'd end up in hell. But I mean, threat of repercussions seems to be a reasonable source for morality, considering the evolutionary reasoning for developing what we call morals.
@TheMadJestyr2 жыл бұрын
