I don't disagree with the main idea of the video, but are we saying the guys rallied behind Gunner based on 1 TD vs. Texas? If it was true why did they have the worst offensive output of the season in the game he started? I actually think there is more evidence the other way...the offense stunk and Gunner was NOT the problem. How did that galvanize the team?

Aaron Murray said it best: Beck is being immature by flaunting his move to Miami. Why piss off a fanbase? Would it have been worth losing Stockton if Beck had stayed one more year? I don't think so. Is Carson Beck worth $3 million for one year TO GEORGIA, especially with the potential to lose Stockton? I don't think so. Is he worth $3 million to Miami, I guess we'll see. But that's more than he'd be paid if he'd gone to the NFL and it's almost twice as much as Miami paid for their QB this year. So expectations are going to be high, can Beck deal with the pressure of that expectation? We'll find out. Personally, I don't lay the blame on Beck. He is a good QB. He is what he is-a prototypical NFL-style pocket passer. He is not the guy to run a game plan that requires a mobile dual-threat QB. He can break for a run every once in a while, but he's not your guy if that's what you want or need. Beck needs a secure pocket to operate and reliable targets to throw to. This year, we didn't really have either. The front five on our OL was less than great this year (injuries were a factor), and I've no idea what went wrong with our receivers (#1 drop passes in the FBS). With those two variables in play, it's not going to bode well for a QB like Beck. He’s not going to be able to punish a rushing defense with his feet scrambling for yards. Imagine being a QB like Beck: your line is porous, can't really open up lanes for the RBs, and you're standing back there running through progressions trying to find a receiver who will not drop the ball. So, you're running through your progression, and it takes milliseconds or seconds longer than it would if you had a couple of reliable targets. That leads to having to scramble (something not great at doing), sacks, stripped balls, and bad decisions, while you're desperately trying to find a receiver who won't drop the damn ball. It becomes frustrating, and then emotions, second guessing, and confidence come into play. Carson Beck behind a great line with great receivers will be a great quarterback. Is a dangerous QB for defense. Without that, he is what we got this year, an offense which didn't have a lot of dimensions to it. Georgia needs: A great offensive line, especially the front 5, guys that can be a wall when they need to be, and guys that can open up lanes for a consistent rushing attack by your RBs, and Georgia desperately needs receivers guys that can win more 50-50 balls, and will make the catch if they're in the open.

Because after he got hurt, the "fan" base acted like he was a leper.

Beck needed the receivers they got for Gunner.

For our offense to be good next year, we have got to get a legitimate left tackle!!! Quick feet is a mandatory characteristic!!! Are any of our young players a possibility?

yeah it is true that whenever a team loses their most important player, they always end up being better off.... well known fact

I think Beck is a good QB but I hate his energy and persona. Off field and on field, he comes off as aloof and uninterested. He’s a guy but he’s not a dude. Gunner is a dude.

If Beck goes to Miami and shows out; wins the Heisman and is dafted number 1, will you change your mind?

If that happens, Miami STILL won't win a ring lol. So who cares? All that matters is how Gunner and UGA perform. They're only talking about Beck because there's nothing else to really talk about at the moment.

Word on the street, is that Carson is a huge fan of pop tarts. So he really is better off in Miami.
