I watched a video by Mary Spender on her trying to learn this song. If you are fluent in hendrix bar chords you could curl your thumb over for the g bass note to make switching to the d a bit easier.

I am having so much trouble learning that percussion slap with finger flick (Like in Stop this Train). I have been practicing real slow for a while now and sometimes I get it, sometimes I strum far too many strings. Any tips? Maybe a video where you break this down?

Awesome tutorial yet again bro! At 8:20 the tab says 2nd fret of the D string (for the "e" of 4), but you said to play the 3rd fret (root note) of the A string, which actually makes it easier to play. Just wanted to let you know...once again GREAT job! Thanks! :)

Great video. I’m guessing you noticed the tab doesn’t match your base note on the A-string( tab shows D string) at about 8:31 in the video under the Cmaj9. That really screwed me up for a while until I watched what you were doing. Thanks again for such great videos.
