Have any of you folks made the call to take a lesson? If so, how did you enjoy the experience?

I took a class from Ninja Performance last year right as I was starting to ride, the fundamentals really helped! The hinge you mentioned was big for me too, I wasn't dropping my hips/hinging enough.

@@TryRebooting The hinge ended up being way more complex than I thought, it's a really specific position! Super happy to have had my perspective on it updated! I used to bend my knees WAY too much, the other cue of straighter legs was so crucial to me getting it sorted out. I spent ALOT of time checking out Olympic cross-country rider positions to make better sense of it!

I took a group lesson on fundamentals just after I bought my first mtb. I probably had about 4 hours of riding on it before the class, and I don't think that was enough. I just needed to ride. I needed to learn the difference between road tires and fat tires, and the difference in braking between mechanical brakes and hydraulic brakes. So kinda wish I'd waited awhile before signing up for a clinic.

@@ralphcole674 I actually fully agree! Lessons can be monumentally valuable IF you've hit a wall and want to progress beyond that limit. Most of us already know how to ride a bike, just exploring local trails and messing around can teach us more than enough to get our foot in the door! thanks for the comment and for watching!
