I recommend to read the comic named, "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" which is the original version of the movie with the same title. That pretty much shows how Miyazaki sees the human world.

I’m sending this right after when I sated to listen to this video and Austin!s message about the Ghibli saying “sex slave” blew my mind and that made the difference between Japan and US so clear.. Yeah, Miyazaki’s message was it but we, The Japanese people thought it was fantasy. We don’t have such kind of critical point of view, but that’s definitely the one he wanted to say👍

I think Shinto spirit of Japan where you see god in everything (especially in nature) is present in Ghibli movies. In fact they are very spiritual. And probably that’s why people from all over the world can feel connection to the Ghibli movies. My mom was left handed, too. Lefties are said to have active right side of brain which is for creativity. Probably it’s way too natural for A that he won’t even realize he is creating reality efficiently at all times. Disney is very American in a sense that heros and heroines are of the power and frontiers in whatever their field is. It has to be representation of particular known group. 😂💪(I don’t think that’s a bad thing though. They just want to emphasize that mentality. Whereas Japanese would be like, “Listen to the forest gods🤫. They don’t like kids who are too noisy, so be quiet and don’t make them angry!” 😅) Nice conversation as always! 🎉

宮崎駿氏について1つ皮肉があるのが、彼はしばしは少女の活躍を描きますが、かつてアニメ世界名作劇場の"赤毛のアン（Anne of Green Gables）"の製作を彼が担当した際に、彼はアンを理解するのに苦しんだとか。 男性が思い描く少女像と、実際の少女像に剥離があったようです。 まあアンはエキセントリックな面があるから、同性でも理解に苦しむ人は居るとは思うので無理も無いとは思いますが😅
