Why girls use Big Sis, our sex and relationships chatbot in South Africa

Big Sis is our chatbot for girls in South Africa created with Vodafone Foundation. Available on WhatsApp and Facebook messenger, it offers private, trusted advice about sex and relationships.
So far, 38,000 girls have started chats with Big Sis, with over 1 million messages sent.
And it’s working. Girls who chat with Big Sis know more about STIs and are primed to act.
76% of girls intend to access a health service before starting a new sexual relationship after chatting to Big Sis, 12% higher than before using the chatbot (64%).
