The entire God Of War series (including the new ones) has a very very special place in my heart. I would have loved them anyway, but I played God Of War with my dad growing up, and at the time my dad was a very angry man and far from a great parent. He hit absolute rock bottom, basically ruining everything in his life. Then, around 2016 he started turning it all around, and became a fantastic father that I could truly be proud of. Hes now calm and collected, working hard to keep things stable for his new family (im an adult now and he remarried and has another daughter) Its crazy how the game I used to play with my dad, mirrored his life so well.

My favorite thing about GOW 3 has to be the enemy designs. These are definitely some of the most badass interpretations of classical creatures from Greek Mythology, and they feel so much more threatening and intimidating than in other games. Sure, the enemy designs in GOW have always been great, but thanks to GOW 3's updated graphics, it gave these creatures a lot more visual polish and allowed them to really stand out compared to before, with the Chimeras being a personal favorite of mine.

@@vlad_47 Oh yeah, I know that most enemies retain the same general design throughout the games, I just mean in terms of visual appearance, the enemies of GOW 3 look a lot more detailed and polished compared to previous games. For example, Centaurs in GOW 1 looked pretty blocky and awkward, but in GOW 3, they certainly look a lot cooler and more imposing. Makes sense given that it's on a more powerful console, but I still appreciate the visual upgrades to the enemy designs regardless.

The set pieces and locations tho havent trumped GoW 1 and 2 despite the superior graphics. Athens, Pandoras Temple, Island of Creation are all iconic and nail Greek mythology perfectly, while GoW 3 locations are somewhat unimpressive imo.

Kratos was willing to leave Hermes alone and gone on with his quest to beat Zeus but Hermes had to screw around and found out in brutal fashion. Kratos was the villain who was willing to destroy the world just to fight Zeus aka killing gods and the consequences the world suffers from their deaths. The gameplay, the aesthetics, the storyline, music and world building is top notch in setting up the finale of the Greek Saga.

There is so much great hack & slash games like DMC, Onimusha, Darksiders, Castlevania LoS trilogy etc. But GoW is another level for gaming. Especially GoW 3, newer GoW games have better graphic and they are bigger games, but no new game will top GoW 3 in terms of gameplay, atmosphere, pacing and Boss fights. Let's hope for new GoW games will back to it's roots of faster pacing and gameplay.

About the circle thing: in the gow 2018, when kratos kills baldur, he says: „the circle ends here“. In gow2, when Zeus kills kratos at the beginning of the game, Zeus says the same to kratos. Just awesome

I only got to play the game this year, after being in my mind since my early teens but with not having a PS3, no way to play it. This year still no PS3, or 4 or 5, but emulation does the magic once more, sure the frame rate is all over the place, the graphics ain't as good, but My God if i loved the game. Combat is so fucking gorgeous, same goes for the envirioments, music is fantastic, and as you said, the full circle, the overwhelming finale feel the game shines on is just beautiful. Wish i could play it in 60 fps, but hey! I was raised on the LapTop 20 fps gaming, so it is no a big deal. So yeah God of War 3 better than sex

I still prefer the old trilogy over the new games. I bought a ps3 back in 2009 only because i wanted to play this game after playing the first 2 and seeing the amazing trailers for this one. To this day i've probably gone through the entire trilogy about a dozen times and GOW3 specifically a few more times than that. I'm not sure if i would call it my favorite game ever like you do, but it's definitely up there. The entire old trilogy was one of the best franchises ever.

honesty dude u just convinced me to actually try this game, hopefully I don’t piss a lot of people off by saying this but I stayed away from gow because I hate how similar it looks to dmc I always looked at gow as a dmc rip off in my head. i’ve played the new gow games and I think they’re really good but i never played the old ones for that reason and the fact i didn’t want to play gow3 without playing the ones before hand but since it’s on sale for $10 rn fuck it hopefully this ends up being one of my favorite games as well.

I can't say it's the best game of all time, however, it's the best GOW game of all time. It's definitely in my top 10 best games of all time.

I'm not sure if I'd say it's the greatest of all time, but I will say that I've probably played it more times than 95% of the games I own. It really is a masterpiece that never gets old. I was so pumped for it when it came out when I was in college that I actually dropped a class I had a midterm in the next morning because I couldn't put it down lol. In retrospect not the best move since I had to take an extra semester JUST to retake that one class, but fuck it I'd do it again because this game is fucking awesome.

I am not a big fan of God of War games (I am a DMC, Bayo, NG fan), but you make a strong case for why these games are fun to play. I think you glaze them a little too much; however, I really enjoy your passion talking about why you enjoy them so much! You will definitely influence more gamers to try the old series out. @@FirstPlace97 Most I can say to you is that you're missing out. I do have a question tho. This will determine in (my view) whether you're missing out on your favorites (DMC, BAYO, NG) as well. How is your play style? Is it combo focused? As in, combo mad stuff? Do you like to use attacks that deal heavy damage?

@@ExtremeGameplays1 I try to be as efficient as possible while also experimenting. I definitely like to be stylish when doing combos. I played the first GoW in 2005 but I didn't get into it for some reason. GoW always seemed to be more about big crowd control and less sophisticated combos than DMC, IMO. However, after playing GoW2018 and Ragnarok, I kind of wanted to play the originals that are more action focused. From your footage, it does seem like GoW has good variety and Kratos seems like a fun power trip. At some point I need to investigate the OG trilogy for myself.

@@FirstPlace97 It's not about combos tho. The more you focus on efficiency, the better. The og GoW trilogy shines in this aspect. It's not just combos. You will get good enough at some point to combo, but it's not the be all and all. There's a lot to scratch regarding the games you mentioned. They're deep and layered with gameplay depth. Do you do challenge runs? Those help BIG TIME in making you even more and more familiar with your favorite games.

@@ExtremeGameplays1 Ya I've beat all those games on the highest and I'm more than familiar with getting the S ranks, ha. Whenever they do a proper port of 1 and 2, I'll see about starting GoW from the beginning. Been wanting to play them ever since Ragnarok reminded me of how much better traditional action game design is. They look fun. I just never thought I'd need to get into the series since I had my DMC. I'm much more open into trying the rest of the genre. Action game fans are rare these days.

Cool video about gow 3 . I am a crazy kratos fan after a long time i just got to play original series again . Damn i just now finished gow 2 and got to watch this video . Yeah gow 3 is awesome ! But one thing i cant able to accept that its the best ever game in gow series . For me gow 2 is the best , in terms of story telling , gameplay and all together , gow 2 is the best and i wonder why no one is talking about that I wish people could start noting and talking about 2 .... it deserves much more love ...
