I haven’t finish this video yet but this hit real hard man, back when i was in Afghanistan lots of people would play In Arcades and and if lucky enough they would have a ps2 or ps1 or even a PSP like me which I was glad for and cherished it as a child, since I could play GOW chains of Olympus and ghost of Sparta on it over and over again, so when you said that your friends brother would play GOW 1 and 2, that was the same for me with my awesome cousins, and their reason to not let me play was that its scary and not for kids and that its hard which was true but I still liked watching it. Sorry for the rambling but I do agree with you on god of war and its memories and how similar our ways of coming to liking it were.

Your story made me realize how long it actually took me to play Gow 3 for the first time. I watched my dad playing GOW 1&2 when i was like 10. He borrowed them from a friend and somehow GOW 2 became my game. I literally had a session where I finished this game 3 time in a row. At this time i was 13, but my life changed a lot when i was 15. It would take forever to tell the whole story, but my older Cousin who has a PS5 gave me his PS4 for Christmas 2023 because i told him about my love for gow, even though most of my favorite games are from Nintendo. Back home with my new console i immediately bought Gow 3 & gow2018 and started playing Gow3. (Ironically I’ve already played Gow2018 some years ago at my friends home) So 13 years after release i finally played this game. 2023 was my gow comeback year because i emulated all psp ans ps2 games and finished them on the hardest difficulty. Now i finally finished gow 3 and playing it again on the hardest difficulty (Currently i have to finish the last battle in the labyrinth). The best part about this is: i never played ragnarok before, so i still got stuff to be hyped about.

Holy crap, I'm only 10 minutes in and it's unbelievable how relatable this video is. Until 8th grade I only had a GameCube and Gameboy Advance, and God of War seemed like the forbidden fruit of gaming. Gosh, the beloved GameCube games I sold (sacrificed) and hours spent mowing lawns to finally purchase my own PS2 and God of War 1 & 2, just to have God of War 3 be a whole console generation beyond my grasps... It's really cool to know someone has a similar relationship with the series (although the game store I went to only charged $10 for all day play on weekdays, so I beat GOW 3 in one sitting), and the comments seem to reflect similar sentiments. Instant sub!

Damn, this even got emotional because how relatable it is for me, games always were (and still are) super expensive here in brazil, and took me a while to play gow 3. After a lot of struggle, I finally managed to find a guy who was renting his ps3 (yes, renting), so I rented his ps3 and found a video store that rented games too, and there it was on the shelf, gow 3 in all his glory. I beat the game 2 times in one weekend, and I had to play on that fat old tvs of about 29 inches, and it was still impresive. I already beat gow 3 17 times and I still play it on my ps5. Gow is my favorite franchise of all time and gow 3 is my favorite game of all time, and is so good to see people still appreciating. Wholesome video

I loved your video. I had a similar story… I played GOW2 in a gaming center in my home country. I also used my lunch money to rent a console and paid per hour to play. Back home you could rent a memory card as well and you could save your progress, so I beat GOW2 on paid time after school. Often I would pay a bit over time to save my progress. I think it took me about a month to finish it. I did have to play it on easy mode to not get too delayed by dying constantly. It was so cathartic to reach the scene with “Zeus! Your son had returned.” This was around 2008 or 2009 before I moved to the US. So I was very bummed out when I realized that the game ended on a cliffhanger. No gaming centers had PS3s back home and I certainly couldn’t afford one. The only console I ever owned was a second hand N64 that I still own to this day. Years went by. I came to the US, went to high school, college, then medical school, and during a gap year at a much older age I went back home to visit my family who lives in a different city in the US. My younger brother who is now in high school had just bought a PS5 with money from a summer job. I asked if he has ever played GOW, but he only plays Minecraft, Call of Duty and other multiplayer games. I asked if I could buy GOW3 and download it to his console, to which he agreed. I started around 8 or 9 PM, and I stayed up all night playing it on hard mode because that’s how I roll. I finished GOW3 16 years after playing GOW2… the remastered version. It was absolutely beautiful. The music. The graphics. The gameplay. The story. The monologues. THE MUSIC. It’s truly amazing. A pre-pubescent boy in elementary school started GOW2, and a grown man in medical school finished GOW3.

@ComboSpartan2 жыл бұрын
Its such a heartfelt video and made me a bit emotional cause I had a very very similar journey to yours. I am not as talented like you to express myself on a video so be prepared to read a novel. Just like you since an early age I had this pull towards gaming and I was quite good at it. I would often go over to my buddies place and play games on it. My school and College friends would often crowd me when I was playing games watching it like entertainment. The best kind of memories I ever made and felt really flattered of my skills. Loved the banter and roasts of my friends when I messed something up in the game. I remember at the time I was in 3rd year of College (2012) when I first came to know about the God of War Franchise cause back then in India we didn't have internet connections at home, but in our college we had unlimited net so I finally got introduced to the world of gaming properly. I downloaded the GOW 3 Trailer and used to sate my cravings for the game by watching it again and again. I quickly realized that there was PS1 and PS2 GOW1 and GOW2. Which at the time 2013 in my final year of college GOW2 did not run properly on PS2 emulator. Gave me 15 fps but I was so obsessed with the game I still beat it 10 times. I came across DMC4 which was on PC and it ran at 60 fps on my PC so I played it so much and it unlocked my combo creativity. Then I learnt that I could emulate PS1 games on my laptop and fortunately GOW1 ran on 60 fps so I played it about 30 times or so. And then GOW ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus on PSP emulator for PC all the while I was dying to play GOW3 on PS3. I knew my parents would never buy me a PS3, my father is kind of against gaming so at the time all I could do is play GOW1/2/CoO/GoS on my laptop. My father is a great person and he taught me a lot of things which were very helpful in my life. And because of his care and concern I am my own man now doing well for myself with a decent job. And now that I earn for my self he doesn't mind me playing games that much. As a matter of fact enjoys watching me play often peeking from the top of newspaper while pretending to be reading when I connect my laptop to the TV screen to play. The only difference between you and me is that, I got to bust my GOW 3 nut on 2021 after 11 goddamn years playing it on PS3 emulator on my PC at 15 fps. Still completed the game 5 times. On 2022 after massive breakthrough in PS3 emulation now the GOW3 runs at around 50-60 fps at which point I was able to do Combo Mads for it in my Channel. I think a part of the reason why we got so good in the game is because we were denied of it and hence when we finally had it we cherished it like anything. Anyways I am my own man now, a decent job and I am finally buying PS5 to play ragnarok. But the first games I will install on it will be GOW 3 and Ascension.

this video kinda describes my journey with gaming and GOW overall. One day I saw a fake psp with kratos on the box and I asked my dad if I can get it, he told me that I will buy you the original. I thought he was joking so it made me kind of sad, but after 2 weeks we went to a shop where he bought me a jailbroken psp. It had games like G.I joe a cool indie game and a bunch of other games but I would only play gow Chains of olympus. I replayed it countless times and I still remember the final boss fight with hades' wife and meeting Kratos daughter in the fields. I then fell into a gow rabbithole and watched long playthroughs of gow 1, 2, and 3. GoW was also a huge part of my childhood and it introduced me to a lot of games.

Oh man, my story is even worse. Here is the story. It starts in 2011. I was 5 years old at the time. My first game was God of War 2 and I played it on my brother’s ps2. At that time, we were reaching a point when you got RAGE OF THE TITANS. You know, you have to press the R3 and L3 buttons to break the door, and there was no internet in it. That time in my country, and the days passed until 2016. Then the solution to the puzzle was finally known and I finished the game. Then I learned that Part 3 was not released on the PS2, and I did not know that it was released on the PS3 either. The days passed until a year ago when I learned that it was released on the PS3. I decided to buy it, but the financial situation was bad. I had to wear the same clothes for another year until I could buy it. In addition, I worked as a flour porter for a while to collect money and I actually collected it. Now I can buy it. I went to buy it from a person from a buying and selling site that I met and took the device until the device had a red light problem. I spoke with the man but he started... I was evasive, but I threatened him with imprisonment because I had evidence that he said that the device had no problems. Finally, I got the money back and bought a device with a warranty from a store and started playing Gow 3, but I developed hemorrhoids at the same time for some reason, which made me complete the game standing and I have a surgical report.Oh man, life is just fuck us 😂

First time i ever saw God of War 1 and God of War in general was waaaaaay back in 2006 when 16 of us gathered in one house to play budokai tenkaichi 3 (dragon ball) as coop and fighting and i happened to be one of the earlier people getting there and my host and friend was playing God of War 1 and was struggling at the hardest difficulty! I saw the game he taught me the controls and i managed to defeat the section that he was having a hard time dealing with. I defeated that section with ease (no flex) and that was the time were i started losing my mind over God of War. 16 of us were there to play dragon ball but all i wanted was God of War. I thank you for this video! You brought back so many memories that i cant even explain properly. Unbelievable how alike we are without even knowing each other! Im waiting to see your gameplay from God of War Ragnarok!!!! Stay healthy stay safe and best of wishes and greetings all the way from Greece!

The GOW series are much more than just video games... they're my cornerstone... I'd dare to say at least 60% of who I am was decided by Kratos! I even learned English just to understand this game and that alone changed my life forever! "DO YOU SEE GODS OF OLYMPUS?! DO YOU NEED MORE PROOF THAN THIIIIIISSS?!"

GOW 3 is my favorite of all and was the first GOW that wan mine, I played the other 2 in my cousins house, after them I got the ones from ps2 and psp, my first ps3 videogame was GOW 3, even thou Resident Evil made and make part in my life as one of my favorite games, GOW 3 is art, here in Brazil we say he is a beautifully masterclas of violence, everything that came after that was a plus, really good, but GOW 3 was the moust epic game of his generation, and deservedly so.

Use to play god of war with my mom and my uncle, we would sit on the couch and they would watch me play, my uncle would be so happy and excited watching me play gow 2 and 1 on my ps2, when I got my ps3 I was about 13 years old I remember been so happy I got it, when I finally had enough money to buy it I got it in a garage sale, I was so happy because I was about to play it but I had the same issue where it would get stuck in that same cut scene but the next day we returned it and bought a brand new one from the store, my uncle helped me get because I just loved watching me play god of war he is also a big fan of the god of war games,

I used to look at other people who owned all the good gaming consoles when I had a good few of my own which I should've been grateful for. Like the part about when you said you finally got a PS2. I had a ps2, xbox 360 and a ps3 at that time... goes to show we shouldn't take what we have for granted. Funny story. I had God of War 3 and never heard of it before. Put it in and didn't really like it, I was a kid then and the case just sat there for years... so watching your tale about getting it made me feel kinda guilty lol. Good video bro.

When I say ur journey to get to god of war 3 is exactly the same as mine got a ps2 with gow 1 and 2 then when the ps3 came out I waited like 4 years couldn’t wait to play sold my ps2 to my buy and all my games now gow3 is my fav

I grew up playing gow1 and 2 when it came out and I was way too young bcuz my Dad always just let me do adult stuff (maybe not the best idea but he was really young when he had me) and I swear the soundtrack and the levels and everything are like hardwired into my DNA. I didn't get to play gow3 when it came out for like a year or two because I was with my mom and she wouldn't let me buy it but when I did man it was special after waiting years to see the resolution of that cliffhanger at the end of gow2. Before we had internet I remember watching the gow3 trailer on youtube on a public library computer lol man those were the days. I can't imagine going through everything you went through just to play gow3 man what a ride, glad to hear other people had this game in their childhood like I did.

Wow man I just finished the vid and i absolutely loved it, the same love you have for GOW 3 I have the same for ghost of Sparta, and the only and literally the only reason why I did not GOW 3 that much was because I had a 720 P tv so that sucked and lagged always but now I ordered GOW 3 again to experience it the better way. Much love man and 1 question, have you platinumed GOW 3 yet??

3:14 AH, YES!!! The sweet children innocence and ignorance! The best feelings in the world that we will never get again! I got my PS3 in 2012 and I was 11 years old at the time. Internet was not such a big thing like it is now, I was also ignorant about the next gen consoles releasing the next year, lol! I didn't got an Xbox One until 2016! Ah, the memories of childhood!
