It's too bad Keinyan Lyonsdale didn't find his place in the cast. I imagine the meditative Kid Flash would have been THE guy to know what it's like to not just be a sidekick and young speedster, but to teach how to properly channel impulses. His death would also justify why Wally hadn't helped take down Godspeed in the future. On the other hand, Jay was also Bart's mentor in the comics, and longtime viewers of the show have already gotten used to Jay's (and Henry's) fatherly vibes and advice, so his death hits harder for the viewers. And of course a grandpa-aged speedster who had already been there for Barry would be the one to give his wisdom to Bart.

Here’s my problem with this scene: Godspeed is nothing compared to thawne. I feel bad for Bart that he had to watch jay die at a young age. However, his pain is not equal to Barry’s. Thawne tried to kill Barry as a kid, killed Nora Allen, got Barry’s father sent to prison, killed Nora west Allen, killed Cisco, manipulated team flash, created the metas, and so much more. Thawne cannot be defeated because Barry will risk everything in the timeline. Godspeed is just nuts. I will say Barry should help Bart overcome grief. That’s just my two cents
