I've watched the match between Goldberg and Regal; Regal deserved a medal for the sheer amount of effort that he put into that match to TRY and make Goldberg look like a quasi-decent wrestler. Regal has been quoted as saying "I can't hit meself" when asked by Bischoff as to what happened during the match. Of course Goldberg complained about how the match went down, claiming that Regal "took liberties" with him in the ring. To that Regal replied that if he had taken liberties with Goldberg in the ring, then he would have ended up going to hospital after the match. I will say I 100% think Triple H used the undefeated streak with Asuka as a slight towards Goldberg, and Goldberg had a right to be upset about it. It's not only that, it's the fact that people like Asuka when she would have never been over in the US without the streak in NXT, and hypocritically they bash Goldberg and say Goldberg only got over because of the streak when he drew more than Asuka could ever dream of.

Ignoring which, Goldberg was an absolute megastar at his peak. There's a reason for that. Dude had intangibles. There's plenty if monster wrestlers who have been pushed over the years who failed to get over. Goldberg not only got over, but became one of the biggest names in the industry People who hate on him are just weird. And to cover off the Bret thing, his own brother near killed Austin. I don’t hate Goldberg. He was dope in the 90’s. No he was no Bret Hart but I liked what he bought to the sport. I guess it’s cool to hate Goldberg Warrior or Vince Russo. I don’t hate them guys. They all made a great mark in wrestling rather you like them or not.

I enjoyed this video and shared it with some friends. I agree that Goldberg wasn't a great wrestler but this is a bit biased. For example I don't really think his return run was that bad. He did have some decent matches, maybe not super exciting ones but not terrible. I agree that the Kevin Owens, Fiend and Undertaker matches were terrible. His matches with brawlers like Lashley were boring but not necessarily worse than what should have been expected. A brawler vs an aged powerhouse way passed his prime is rarely going to deliver a particularly interesting match. His match with Regal was bad but nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be imo. Back in the old days it was very common for wrestlers to have little training experience and be very limited as a result, and most people who hate on Goldberg probably didn't watch him growing up. I didn't myself, but I can see why he was he got over to the extent that he did.

I personally really like him. He’s definitely not the most technical wrestler but neither was Andre The Giant (who is an absolute legend for the other things he bought to a match). The fact Goldberg’s still been relevant almost 30 years after his debut says it all really. The WWE have relentlessly tried to pass on his gimmick to other wrestlers who simply weren’t able to pull it off in the same way.

Correction Bret Hart did indeed forgive Goldberg for the kick, but then took it back when Goldberg came back to wrestling and starting making money again. Bret would have been fine with Goldberg had he never returned to wrestling. And let's not forget how Bret ignores the fact he didn't get medical treatment after the Goldberg match, something if he had done could have saved his career. Let me put it this way, if I break you leg it's my fault, but if I break your leg and you ignore it and don't get it treated and it has to be amputated, whose fault is that?
@Trayxxxx3 ай бұрын
I don't think that's a good example. You have to take into account that back then we didn't really know how bad concussions were. ( Heck around that time it was a long running storyline for a wrestler in WWE. Bubu Ray Dudley I think)
@MrSniperfox293 ай бұрын
@@Trayxxxx Bret literally admitted he ignored the fact he was in bad shape because he assumed it was just "one of those things" He has no on e to blame for himself for not taking better care of himself. How many wrestlers have started off with no losses and got over as big as goldberg. The fact that he only got over because he didnt lose is a bad argument. The character was presented well and people just hate that he didnt put on 5 star bangers in the hart dungeon. Every single wrestler in his video is arrogant its what makes them great....

He was charismatic, massive and had an intimidating presence and was believable in the ring. Combine that with a monster push and you're guaranteed to get over and draw big. I understand why the marks and talented workers are seething, but they can't draw like Goldberg and their paychecks were bigger with him around.

I got into watching wrestling at a time just before the Ultimate Warrior hit the scene, & he was the most impressive new guy on the block back then. By the time I'd lost interest in wrestling my brother got into it in time to see Goldberg start up, & for him Goldberg was just as impressive as Warrior. Warrior, Goldberg & Brock Lesner are all the same - not naturally talented wrestlers, & in it as a bussiness/payday first, but still bloody impressive at the time & was fantastic to watch.

I think the Hate on Goldberg by a lot of the fans is way overboard Goldberg was awesome back in the day. He wasn't the one who booked matches. Undertaker was shit too in that match. I do agree his arrogance at times is shitty, But he did whatever Job he was asked to win or lose. He is still one of my all-time Favorites. I love his Run for the first Couple years in WCW. WWF/WWE booked a lot of WCW talent like shit for the first few years. And Vince didn't pay to give the fans the real feud against WCW. Goldberg isn't Hogan backstage. So people can chill on the hate.

6:14 You mean the concussion that WCW's "Doctors" said wasn't too bad and cleared Bret Hart to continue Wrestling? Only worsening the injury by taking multiple chair shots to the head as well as many other dangerous moves from other Wrestlers. Putting the blame on Goldberg for ending Bret Hart's Career is absolutely uneducated and ignorant. Put the blame on WCW for their awful management and booking of their talent.

You are incorrect. Blame is not zero sum, if you put the blame on the guy who delivered the unsafe kick because, despite being paid exorbitantly he refuses to put the work into learning how to do the job safely, you can also blame the doctors who missed the severity of the injury, the bookers who insisted on continuing to use him, and Hulk Hogan.

Only a few ppl have maybe done that in kickboxing but nobody has in mma or boxing that I know of unless somebody took a dive for some shady promotion that fixes fights. Berg is the holder of the most legitimate wins in a row in all of professional full contact martial arts combat sports history … of course ppl are gonna get jelly n be playa hatin
