Grimmsnarl is reminding me of skeledurge! Both fell down below OU while still being amazing in UBERS!! It is quite interesting seeing the differences between OU and UBERS letting different pokemon shine!

I think because in lower tiers,support options are so varied that mons had to contribute smthg as well as it support capabilities like in OU/UU But purely support mons have quite the a better chance to shine in Ubers,like at Ubers its all glass cannon or unbreakable wall and rarely have mons for sheer utility because most Legendaries are made to be tank/damage dealers than a support So purely support mons like Grimsnarl being a low tier mon can see plays in Ubers

Not really, he mispoke. Grimmsnarl with screens and light clay is so potent in lower tiers it got light clay banned. Any prankster screen setter with light clay is gonna be good

Prankster Sableye is also part dark type and gets both screens and taunt prank Disable is also underrated Sable is still outclassed by Grimm, but on a mono ghost team, sable becomes invaluable for letting other ghosts set up to become unstoppable threats

Don't get me wrong I am thankful that Grimmsnarl isn't tankier than it is, but it reallt is wild to me that Grimmsnarl in VGC and Ubers is known for being a support mon first with the potential to deal damage as a secondary trait when it has pretty solid offenses and not so great defenses without investment. I really hope they give it a harder hitting move than play rough in the future so it can compete with Incineroar

Grimmsnarl currently resides within the B- Rank in the VR. While this isn't anything glamorous, especially compared to tier kings Koraidon and Miraidon (or other Support mons like Eternatus), it is on par with Legendaries like Lunala, Groudon and Zekrom, so I suppose that is better than nothing.
