Why Grow Amaryllis in Hydroponics?

I found your channel as I was searching how to grow an amaryllis! I didn’t know about the rocks! I’m trying it and put my Amarilis in a pot with the rocks, but I’m wondering… Is the new leaf supposed to have a pinkish red tent? What does that mean? I don’t remember it being this color last year when a new leaf came out. I think last year it was a beautiful green color. I took a quick photo of it, but I don’t see where I can include it with this comment, darn it. Any help you can suggest will be greatly appreciated! Keep up the great work with your channel!
