DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING about your lesson presentations. Anytime you're talking you're adding a very comforting human element to the presentation and, whether people realize it or not, you're adding additional information in one segment that might not have been clearly or fully explained in a previous segment. Brian, as a paid active melody member for over a year now, please don't change the way you teach, which requires "talking" the way you do. Your ability to provide real, usable, knowledge to the intermediate player that actually does want to know the theory behind the music, is the reason why yours is the only online guitar instruction I do pay $$ for. Let everyone else target the lowest common denominator. There is a need for that, but it is sufficiently provided for. Instructors like you are needed for players who are beyond the beginner phase. I just found this, just this morning and I couldn't help but laugh. The reason is that, a little over a year ago, I was one of these impatient people, and I do want to apologize for that. Where I was then, is a lot different from where I'm at today, because I've learned that in order to play well, *is to be patient, and mind visualization in how things fit together are very important. Your talks, are made up of this type of stuff, in how to visualize what it is, so we can lay down what it is, we are to learn. I learned the pentatonic scale and I love it. People don’t realize how it’s used on not only blues but rock, pop, funk etc. I literally just found you. Brian, you don´t talk too much, because what you say it is interesting and informative; and your anecdotes are entretaining , casual and they feel like a natural flow in the conversation, which, I personaly appreciate since it feels like we are sitting in your living room with you having the lesson. It is true that sometimes you talk about things that are more elemental (Mr. Sherlock) and that may feel like too much talking for some people that have more advance guitar knowledge; but that is ok, since you are reaching people of all levels in your lessons; and I think you are aware of it and try to teach a bit for all levels. Brian, the WHOLE point is to understand why a certain note is played at a certain time not simply how to play it! That means the rambling is indispensable :-)
