Personally, I always read Hermoine's interest in and reaction to Harry's lovelife as disproving Harmoine. She can be much more compassionate and understanding of Harry's obliviousness as opposed to Ron's cause she has no horse in that race, so to speak, and so she just talk about it with him as a friend, with his best interests in mind. In a lot of ways, she's an amazing wingwoman, giving him the confidence to go after Cho, helping him understand why Cho cried after the kiss, she gets Ginny to stop fangirling in a way that was clearly making Harry uncomfortable, keeps "the chosen one" from being manipulated by people who only want him for status, etc. Hermoine is shown to be more romantically savvy than either Ron or Harry, but it's only Harry she decides to help in this way, she lets Ron blunder his way into constant availability. Finally, I think a large part of why Harry and Hermoine's relationship is so great is that it's not tainted by teenage romantic tension as written by J.K. Rowling.

I was very much okay with Ginny not even crossing Harry's mind until around the fifth book. It was the point. The way her brothers talked about Ginny before made no sense up until then. They were talking about a strong-willed, sharp-tongued sister who also got into trouble. But around Harry she was so tongue-tied, he never had a chance to see her real self. It was only after she got over her debilitating crush and acted like herself around him that Harry was able to even realize he might be interested in her romantically. And I thought that was an important point to make.

oh my god yessss! when we got to see more of Ginny and how amazing and sassy she was, Harry was seeing it too! this doesn't really have to do with your comment but i think the fact that she is Ron's sister is kinda perfect too, making Harry OFFICIALLY part of the Weasley family, feels so important to me. Harry had always seen Ron and Hermione as the siblings he never had and this way they all literally are his brother and sister. that type of love feels stronger to me too and definitely solidifies how permanent their bond is.

That’s a really good argument but I feel that they should have involved her more in the early books for that to makes sense, so that you got to see that slow change. If we were able to see that then it would be less confusion about why their relationship wasn’t a thing before the later books. This is probably not the movies fault, most likely it’s the books.
@DarkLordGanondorf1904 жыл бұрын
@@olleaberg7271 In the books' defence I have to say that before the fifth book and especially in the years 3 and 4 at Hogwarts, Harry was rather busy solving mysteries and not being murdered ^^ Plus, he only really started getting interested in girls at the age of 14. And everything is told from his perspective after all.
@olleaberg72714 жыл бұрын
@@DarkLordGanondorf190 good point but I didn’t mean that they should have involved her as a romantic character, just as a side character like Neville was in the first books. That would result in a nice and slow transition from friend to good friend to relationship. Then he wouldn’t need to be interested in her before 14 and at the same time she would have a bigger role in the early story.
@robertsteffler51553 жыл бұрын
In all honesty, I think one of the biggest reasons we see such a strong case for Harry and Hermione as a couple (which is called Harmony in the fandom, btw. Yes I'm one of them) is less to do with the (checks timestamp) 17+ minutes of extremely obvious chemistry they have, though that is something that's hard to ignore, and more that Rowling seems to fall strongly in favor of the "Bicker with your Crush" school of romantic thought. Harry and Ginny's awkward, somewhat stunted relationship aside, there's no other easy way to explain Ron and Hermione's budding romance while maintaining any semblance of internally-consistent logic without having to resort to explaining all their bickering and fighting and general mutual abrasion by any other means. It's either that they secretly have a crush on each other the whole time... or they're just extremely incompatible and yet somehow end up together with multiple kids. The problem with this is that I think the mindset of bickering with a crush because said person is just so hyper-focused on them that every little misstep is blown out of proportion (and thus the end result of that is bickering and arguing) is actually not all that representative of how real relationships work, but is *especially* pervasive in fiction and fantasy. We even see it pop up in the Pokemon anime with Ash and Misty, even though they're not all that close in age and nothing ever actually comes of it. People nevertheless seem to think that two friends bickering constantly and picking on each other is a *clear sign* that they're secretly pining after one another, which just doesn't seem to hold up all that often in the real world. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would certainly explain why there are so many people contrasting that relationship in particular with the hypothetical Harmony ship. The argument isn't even that hard to make: Ron and Hermione bicker constantly, have almost polar opposite interests, treat academics (something we know is absolutely *integral* to Hermione's self-identity) in completely opposite ways, and in general just seem to largely be friends with each other because of their mutual friendship with Harry. Ron, it seems, was perfectly capable of dismissing Hermione as a know-it-all bookworm until he *literally went through a life-or-death situation with her*, after which he almost begrudgingly accepts her as a friend once she *takes the blame for the entire troll situation despite it having nothing to do with her*. Remember, she didn't go seek out the troll, she was crying in the bathroom completely unaware of the troll *because Ron hurt her feelings so badly that she skipped dinner*. Simply the fact that the above isn't present in Harry's relationship with her speaks volumes to the quality of the potential romance between them. I wouldn't be surprised if people simply couldn't accept that Ron and Hermione would *ever* work out romantically, and thus the next most obvious thing is the surprisingly well-supported Harmony ship. You don't need to look all that hard to find example after example of ways in which Harry and Hermione work well together, and suddenly it seems kind of strange that Hermione ended up with *anybody* else. To get back to the initial point about Hermione and Ron being written more from Rowling's perspective of "bicker with your crush", the overall point here is that it isn't as much that Harry and Hermione just have *that strong* of a case going for the two of them getting romantically involved, but rather that in an effort to try and foreshadow Ron and Hermione's mutual feelings for each other, Rowling inadvertently created an extremely polarizing relationship: Either the reader is completely on board with the bickering-means-romantic-feelings explanation and successfully views it as foreshadowing of the eventual romantic payoff in the last two books, OR the reader sees it as a litany of incompatibilities that might eventually bleed into the romance, and then the fact that they start spiraling into a romance with each other seems like a last-minute out-of-nowhere addition for sake of subverting the "Hero gets the girl" trope. Basically TL;DR it's not so much that Harry and Hermione are so compatible, but rather that you either agree with Rowling presenting Ron and Hermione as a bickering-means-feelings relationship OR you see it as a strong counterexample to their romantic compatibility and Harry/Hermione is the next best thing.
@JordanDelp Жыл бұрын
Im not reading all this 😂
@robertsteffler5155 Жыл бұрын
@@JordanDelp Wow yeah I don't remember writing all this. TLDR is that the fandom probably didn't go for Harry and Hermione so much because they're so compatible, there's lots of examples in the books of their incompatibilities, but because if you already don't buy into Ron and Hermione nor Harry and Ginny because of their other incompatibilities, it's sort of the next most obvious option. Once you're there, of course, you find that they actually do have a lot of good complementary traits, but that's sort of a perk rather than the point a lot of the time.
@firestar4430 Жыл бұрын
@@robertsteffler5155I liked it, it was a very good analysis and breakdown. I do think it's worth mentioning that each time Ron leaves the group (mad at Harry in book 4, storms out book 7), the loss is extremely felt. Harry mentions in book 4 that he likes Hermione very much, but she's just not as good company as Ron. "Spend a lot less time laughing and a lot more time in the library." There are many nights where they barely talk to each other in book 7, depressed at Ron's absence. Ron and Hermione "bicker" a lot, but they both seem to enjoy picking each other's brains. Hermione has her fair share of responsibility for their fights, except of course for the Yule Ball where Ron is unquestionably in the wrong. That doesn't mean that Harry and Hermione aren't _like_ siblings in that they relate to each other as such.

Their crush was set in the first book, it was so clear since the start. She even throw tantrums all the time to Ron to notice her. They even spend a lot of time together without harry, hermione wrote a letter to harry in book 3 that constantly speak about ron, he was so visible upset when she was petrified by the basilisk, he also was so offended when Malfoy said the racist slur against her, she was trying to get to him always because she knows he is so low confident by being the shadowed sibling of 7, the best friend of the famous harry potter that constantly is in the shadow by it, but she committed the mistake of dating Ron's favourite Quidditch player that lead in the future to Ron use Lavander to get her jealous.

Even though i ship Harmione- lemme just say that: I wish the trio didnt ended up with one another. Like Ron and Hermione or Harry with Hermione. It felt like splitting the trio apart. If one of them ended up together, it doesnt feel like a trio anymore. Plus,when Ron and Hermione is dating, Harry said he felt lonely. He doesnt have any other closer friends than the two, and with the two dating, Harry felt even more secluded. Same reason why i think even though i ship Harmione, they shouldnt ended up together because Ron will felt that way. Best case scenario: None of the trio ended up together and each of em marry someone else yet still be close friends even when adults.

Here’s the thing. I have a similar friendship with two guys. The one I’m not secretly in love with, I am freely affectionate and tell him I love him (as a friend). We vibe well and get along perfectly. The one I AM secretly in love with I am not as quick to embrace him and we also mock each other often; sometimes brutally. So, I think that might be human nature?
@NocturemRaven4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about this too. I'd say people are projecting by nature, so e.g. when they hug someone who they don't secretly crush on, they don't give it a second thought (because friends hug each other so just showing affection). When it is someone they do have a crush on, it's always wondering 'Did I hug them too quickly, for too long, is it obvious how I really feel etc'. They're more guarded with their emotions because they're hiding how they feel. At least that's my experience :D

You can admire them without romantic feelings. You might even click with them more than with your significant other. 2. Ron and Hermione have passion, their bickering, the slow burn of their relationship. There is fire. They challenge each other in a way that Harry and Hermione just don’t. They might drive each other mental sometimes but they grow through that. I think for every argument Ben‘s made here there is just as much to find for Ron and Hermione.

I just want to bring up the scene where Hermione was more harsh with Ron than Harry when wondering why Cho cried after she and Harry kissed. I don't think Hermione being harsh with Ron has anything to do with any lack of affection towards him. Her aggressiveness seems more like a response to Ron's aggressiveness. Think about and compare Ron's comments about Cho's crying to Harry's comments about Cho's crying. Ron's comments seem more judgmental and harsh, while Harry seemed genuinely curious and concerned. Hermionie's harshness towards Ron in answering him was merely an answer to Ron's harshness. It is not indicative of whether she has feelings for Ron or not. Her response is indicative of her empathy, understanding, and compassion towards Cho and her situation.

Great points! In addition, I think Hermione takes Ron's judgemental behaviour towards girls more seriously because she doesn't want him to treat her that way. Moreover, I think that Hermione with Ron and harry with Ginny make complete sense in the BOOKS. In the movies Hermione and Ron had no chemistry, and Ginny was nothing like she was in the books after the 2nd film. @@sarad2659 Not that Harry's friendship with Ron was well explored in the books either past GoF. He's almost missing for large chunks of OotP, and without the romantic plot, he basically wouldn't be in HBP at all. JKR apparently almost killed off Ron in HBP, and I can see why; it would've made him a meaningful character again in a series where he seemed to be becoming less and less important. But instead he lived, and the Seventh book did a lot of work to reaffirm his place in the trio before the series ended, and did pretty well overall. Oh, and Hermione definitely was as important a support for Harry as Ron, even in the books. Just in a very different sort of way. Ron handled the stress and the commiseration, and Hermione handled the self doubt and cut through confusion.

Most importantly , Luna has often had a lighter view on death, and as a loving partner, she could've helped Harry pull through his past traumas. Not to mention, since she was already around and Harry basically latched onto the first ppl he was introduced to in the wizarding world, it would make sense that he would grow to love her and her family in some way…what better way to feel apart of the family that has done so much for you since you’ve been a wizard than to marry into the family and truly be apart of it…. Also there were quite a lot of hints that Harry felt SOMETHING for Ginny and didn’t realize what it was….everyone probably assumed it was brotherly affection or didn’t even notice it but it could also have been taken as him caring for her and that blossoming into full blown feelings when she grew up. And, in typical fashion he didn’t realize that he liked her until she stopped acting like she had a crush on him. As soon as she started to date other ppl and he saw it effecting his relationship with her then it bothered him. The hints were subtle beyond belief but they were there.

Kids often pretend not to like the person they're most attracted to (sometimes because they don't want to be teased about it) and really young kids get the attention of the one they like in ways a more mature person would find less than flirty. Listen closely, though -- throughout the books, when Malfoy insults Hermione about being muggleborn, it's RON who leaps first to her defense. He stands up for her to others all the time. He probably isn't admitting it to himself, but he admires her. He definitely doesn't think he's good enough for her (remember what he sees coming out of the locket) and that keeps him from expressing his feelings to her more clearly.

Honestly, the movies reinforce Harry and Hermione because Steve Kloves' favorite character was Hermione, so he gave a lot of Ron's kind and exposition lines to her, which ultimately led to Ron, one of my favorite character in the books, to become a dim-witted, whiny, comic-relief character in the movies, with added lines bashing Hermione. Ron and Hermione's bickering to me always came across as them having fun with one another. Ron was really the only one to verbally challenge Hermione, it's like a game of verbal chess. Harry and Hermione have such an amazing platonic relationship to the point where they are best friends at pretty much the same level as Ron and Harry. We don’t see that all that often in literature. When it comes to Harry, she doesn’t seem nearly as offended when he says something. Why? Because Harry is just a friend. Someone she has no interest in. As for Harry... he has never described her as being attractive. He’s described Sirius, Blaise, and other male characters as attractive over Hermione! Not saying that you have to find your potential spouse to be the most stunning beauty on the planet, but Harry - even when Hermione is dolled up during the ball - basically sees her as “Oh, so she can be decent looking” instead of Ron’s clearly shocked reaction and Ron being exceptionally jealous of Krum. Also, I’m pretty sure Hermione is based off of J.K. Rowling and Harry is based off of Rowling’s son. ^ EDIT: I was mistaken in the above that Harry was based on her son. Harry and Ginny. Book 1-Ginny is still just a little girl and cries 2- Ginny has a crush on Harry 3-Ginny still has a crush on Harry 4-Ginny and Harry spend a short time together at the quidditch cup but don't speak much. Harry likes Cho, Ginny probably would have either seen it for herself or spoken to Hermione about it. 5- Harry falls flat on his face with Cho and Ginny starts to date other guys and finally starts to speak to Harry as they hang out more (Harry takes note), Harry also takes note of the power and talent Ginny has compared with other girls, the fact that she comes with them to the order of phoenix. 6- Harry spends ALOT of time with Ginny in the summer and notices how easy, funny and pretty Ginny has become. Harry then notices all the girls that are after him purely for fake often shallow reasons and becomes understands the full implications of a love potion. Ginny and him go to Slughorn's parties and he just enjoys her company. So to see Ginny with another man (much like Ron) forces him to be confronted with his feelings for Ginny. Because, up until then, he had kind of taken her for granted and had been slowly getting to know her as she became more confident talking to him and getting to know him in return. Also, Ginny has become popular, pretty and powerful all on her own, something Harry finds attractive in women (Cho case in point who is both very popular and pretty) Ginny is a talented quiddich player, so they shared that in common, Harry spends even more time with her at school and sees how awesome a player she actually is. Harry, (thanks to hermione) has grown accustomed to independent, strong and powerful women! AND she shares the same interests as him! So, she stops being "some girl who used to have a crush on him" to being an awesome witch who sees Harry for who he is. Unlike all the other fake girls who just want the fame. Finally, its no coincidence that Ginny has red hair. Of course she could have been blonde or brunnette etc., but her having Red hair sealed the deal for me. She reminds him of his mother and there is nothing wrong with that. Harry never states that, but he does find the red hair an extra attractive, quality that probably reminds him of his ma and also that his own father was attracted to red heads. But all in all its clear that Harry falsl for Ginny for all the reasons mentioned above. 7-Ginny admits that she never really stopped liking him. For a while it seemed like it was never going to happen, harry was too popular and she couldn't even speak to him whilst meanwhile he was fawning over another even prettier girl Cho. But she alwyas stuck up for Harry, fought alongside him and believed in him. She even fought Hermione (her bf) in the 5th book when Harry gets kicked off the team! And again Harry takes note of this. But most of all, she knows Harry because of all the time they spent together at the Burrow growing up. And when a guy saves your life and then teaches you how to defend yourself you never forget that. So, when Harry kisses her I bet she was both surprised and elated that something she probably dreamt about, finally happened and they go off to talk things through instead of celebrate in Griffindor's tower. She is calm, she rarely cries, she is funny and capable -and Harry loves her for all of those reasons, so when he leaves her, he knows that for her to NOT cling on to him and keep him with her, even though it would have broken her heart, shows just how much she loves him and knows him to let him go. And she is ofc rewarded for her efforts when he does return for her after the battle. So yeah these are the things I noticed when I deliberately looked for them from book 4 on. Bonus-Even though Harry leaves with Ron and Hermione, she never gets jealous like Cho because she understands that Harry doesn't have feelings for Hermione and she trusts them both.

It's been a long time since I read the books, but I'm just gonna add my voice to the Luna+Harry ship. She was such a great ball of sunshine in Harry's world, not because she was bubbly necessarily, but because she was one of the few characters who never really asked much of Harry other than to hold her shoes while they walked in the forest. The real world reason for Hermione and Ron to end up together is that She Who Must Be Obeyed wrote the Epilogue (if I remember correctly) at the same time as The Philosophers Stone. I don't know if her degree is in English literature or in education. Either way, she doesn't seem to have gotten a good explanation of Chekov's Gun. "If you mount a gun over the mantle piece," said Russian author/playwright Anton Chekov, it must be fired by the end of the second act." Books and play's should not ever have loose ends. The corollary to that is that things should not happen just because. Hermione and Harry in the first book is the gun on the mantle, that was not fired. Dolohov killing the Lupins and Newt Scamandar's grandson marrying Luna are things that had no reason to have ever happened.

I love Romione so much. this video was entertaining and fun, but I’m still full Romione. Also if you want proof on Romione look at the Malfoy manor scene in the book. Ron is having a breakdown hearing Hermione in pain, Harry doesn’t really do anything. Ron runs ahead of Harry after hearing that Hermione will be fed to greyback. Chandelier falls on top of Hermione, Ron runs towards it to save her while everyone else (including Harry) runs away. Also once Harry apparates to shell cottage, it takes him quite a while to remember Hermione at all. I know that dobby died, but for all he knew, Hermione could have been dead too. She was unconscious and had a chandelier dropped on her! Sorry I’m just very passionate about Romione. The video was fun though!

Book 3 sealed it for me, when Harry and Hermione were such a great team. She was the brains, he was the instinct. Their strengths perfectly compliment each other. On the other hand, the movies played Ron all wrong. To fix the Ron/Hermione problem you need to play Rom with, what I would call, the Weasley Swagger. I think Ron would be one of those guys who had an effortless charm that girls love, kind of a Han Solo. Give him some of the Ginny attitude of “anything is possible if you’ve got enough nerve.” I think a guy like that would be a match for Hermione. It rounds out the golden trio better too. Hermione is brains, Harry is instinct and Ron is confidence. They all compliment each other. Ron could still have those moments of self doubt, covered by a joking tough guy exterior. I don’t know if I’ve explained it clearly enough here, but it would work.

Ron is like that in the books he's nit very confident but he's the bravest and the truest griffindor and is always the first perisn to jump to protect his freidns he throws an aligigator heart at malfoy for making fun if harry and says if u want to kill harry u have to kill us too and pulls out his wand or physically attacks malfoy every book for insulting hemrione and harry feels much more open to telling ron his problems then hermiones because ron would reason with him instead of fault him be calm about it and not panic just like when harry had visions of voldemort he wouldn't tell hemrione cos she'd badger him about occlumency and harry doesn't have the patience to deal with hemriones nagging and would burst within second and when hemrione does nag its always ron to tell her to drop it cos he understands harry had enough and hemrione almost like a mother and father

I actually think the whole thing is rather ironic. Having the male/female leads be romantically involved is a huge trope, to the point that often it is treated as such a given and writers completely forget to develop the lead relationship, making it ends up feeling really random or forced. Ironically, because Harry and Hermione have a completely platonic relationship, it is really well developed and people just decide they should be a couple. Really though, Harry x Ron would make exactly as much sense as Harry x Hermione; that is to say they in no way appear to be romantically interested in each other. Frankly, having the straight m/f leads not be involved romantically is kind of unusual and HxHr ship just ruins that. I will agree though that those Harry x Ginny moments in the movies are super awkward and are probably ruining your perception. Most of the development is in Harry's head which is a classic adaptation pitfall.

As Bill and Fleur made their vows to each other at their wedding, Hermione and Harry looked at each other. When Hermione was petrified, Ron said: "it's only Hermione" when Harry was freaking out. "friendship, bravery and-" Hermione told Harry this before he left to fight Quirrell, maybe dying before abruptly cutting herself off. I gave an example in book 4 and in book 6, the big one, *DUMBLEDORE*! It is a fact that teachers can tell if students are crushing on each other. Even a muggle, let alone *THE WISEST AND POWERFUL WIZARD OF HIS TIME, SOMEONE EVEN VOLDEMORT FEARED, could tell there was something going on.

Honestly I would flat out ignore the movies when it comes to Ginny. They had a habit of ignoring the existence of any characters that weren't immediately story relevant so a lot of Ginny's better moments went unnoticed. In Order of the Pheonix, book Harry even forgot they didn't hang out together at Hogwarts because he'd spent so much time with her in Grimmauld Place, but in the movie Ginny was barely a character outside of Chamber of Secrets and Harry's dawning realisation that he liked her. Almost all of the Weasleys were snubbed actually. Aside from Fred and George, they were either mischaracterised or given little to no screen time. So yeah, it makes sense that movie influence would make Harmione sound better.

Was her contribution really that major? I mean I read the books and watched movies but she was always a background character for me. Like she's there but what else. Maybe I missed something and she even was silent help to the trio. Like so many times. How could Harry have managed without her. I was surprised when I read in book 6 that Harry is interested in her. I didn't consider their interactions as romantic.Ok let's not exaggerate.

don't forget that even in film 6 Dumbledore asks to harry if he and Hermione are a thing because of Harry spending so much time with Hermione due to Ron and Lavender Brown being in a relationship and for most of the Ron-Lavender relationship I think Ron was only part taking in the relationship to make Hermione jealous which he seemed to gain ego from, not necessarily caring about Hermione's own feelings just his ego

This is more so Hermione having a small crush on Harry, unfortunately Harry was never interested in Hermione. This was especially obvious in book 4. You sound like one of those who undermine Harry and Hermione relationship. Canon shippers do that. No matter if it's friendship, relationship or brother/sister bond whatever. In the book 3 when firebolt was taken he knew that Hermione had good intentions. Harry needs different things in friendship. He needs Hermione's support to survive and Ron for jokes. Harry was never good with emotions. Plus during that time when Harry enjoyed when it was 3 of them was because he needed Ron and Hermione. He was upset about falling out with Ron. In book 5 he was horrified when Hermione was injured.

@stefan41594 жыл бұрын
He definitely loves the Weasley family, but that doesn't mean he necessarily sees them as literally his family in all aspects. Remember, in Order of the Phoenix, when it's said that all the family can come to visit Arthur, Harry doesn't think that it includes him. And he also tells Ron "I'd feel the same way" about worrying about his family, then thinking of Ginny specifically (who he wants to have a family with) correcting himself to "I do feel the same way". Also, Molly appears to be aware that Harry is not her son, like when she's disciplining her children. Besides, even if Harry thinks of Ron as like brother, doesn't mean he has to think of Ginny as like a sister. If anything, the fact that he is already a family member in many respects should increase Harry's comfort level when it comes to Ginny, not reduce it.

(PSA: I’m not talking directly to the brothers when I say this, I know they’ve read/heard the books many times) I really feel like the movies should not be taken into consideration when it comes to shipping because the characters are portrayed completely different than they are in the books. If you haven’t read the books than I think you should before you 100% decide who you ship because everyone has so much more personality and chemistry in the series. Personally I don’t think Ginny and Harry we’re forced together at all (remember I’m not taking the movies into consideration), Ginny is so strong and witty just like Harry, and they feel so natural together. They also are able to talk about none Voldemort or study things, whereas Hermione and Harry don’t really talk about things outside of that too often. I believe Ginny and Harry enjoy each other’s company in a way Hermione never could. @@ellaine1717 Yes, but he also admitted at the beginning that he may be influenced by the movies, and at the end he did admit that maybe he's reading too much into it. Remember, many book readers _do_ invision the actors when they think of the characters, so chemistry between two characters in the movies can influence judgement. And it may also be just to stir up a little bit of discussion of the actual series, considering the controversy around JKR's recent Twitter posts. So this video, unlike many others, doesn't come off as extremely zealous about Harry/Hermione.

When I first heard you shipped Harry and Hermione I was a bit surprised but respected your opinion and then I reread the series and with the idea of them together I analyzed them a bit more closely and am now a lot more supportive of them together. I think Ron and Luna would actually be really good together. Somewhere in Half Blood Prince Luna was talking with the Golden trio and I don't remember exactly what happened but Ron said something about growing fond of Luna and I think that might be the moment when Luna calls Ron funny but that could be somewhere else in the series. Like I don’t see the romance and when they got together, I’m fairly certain the book just tells you they fell in love over the summer. But I didn’t see it happen. I never believed it. She’s okay, but Ginny just doesn’t seem to ever have a major part in the story. And when she is there more she literally couldn’t talk to Harry.
