The house is a complete gut job. It's going cost a minimum of $250,000+ to remodel & updated the home. $2.9 million dollars is too much for the home based on condition. The price of home would have to be negotiated down. Love the multi level yard. There's so much that could be done with the home. My question is if they want $2.9 mill for the home in it's current condition how much would they want if it remodeled and updated? Edit: the floors are a keeper bro 👊🏾

I would not buy the house because of the following; I love all of those windows, but I wouldn't want to wash them nor pay somebody to wash them. The yard can be absolutely beautiful with some work and a lot of maintenance. For some reason most of the bedrooms didn't look like bedrooms because of the various types of shelving in them, and they are lacking enough closet space, except for the one walk in closet. And there is no garage.

I like the house. The sunken living room makes me think one of the renovations was done in the late 70's. Not feeling the gally kitchen as it is but that can be updated (& keep the stove). Besides the slow realtor the comps may be the deciding factor. No one wants to invest in the most expensive house on the block but with the right price there is a lot of potential in that space. Would love an update if you find that it sells soon.

Hi Mr Jonathan, I am a stranger who came across this video and I really love this house tour. It has a lot of potential and needs some TLC to bring it to the modern standard. A price tag of 2.9 million is absurd. First of all, the biggest fixes to this house is the layout. Most of the rooms don't have a designated assigned purpose. The hallway is too narrow and long. Secondly ,the finishes in certain part of the house are out of date (the kitchen, the bathrooms, light fixtures and outdoor kitchen). Thirdly, the landscaping needs help (aqua ponds and backyards.). Price aside, I would buy this home because It has a lot of potential and would keep certain historic part of it (floors and staircase ) . I would be cautious of the electrical and plumbing system to make sure they are in good condition and do a structural analysis test to make sure the building is sound due to the extra weight from the solar panels.

I love the character of the house; especially the floors and built-ins. However, they're going to have to go down on the price because it needs updating-- and I hope that one without a closet wasn't one of the bedrooms as that would make no sense whatsoever. Also, that shower was nasty.
@LeighAnn_S2 ай бұрын
While I can appreciate the EV station and solar panels, the lack of garage and missing character inside the home, especially at that price point, is a no go for me. I do love the floors, but it's bad when you can't find much more to appreciate on the interior for $2.9M. ✌💙
@patricksmith22742 ай бұрын
I love the floors/backyard and size of the house. When you said it will built in 1927 I hope was a misquote. It definitely gives a 70's vibe and if the house is older that means all of it's character (minus the floors) were stripped away. I would buy the house definitely not at the asking price because there's so much renovation needed. All the bathrooms needs renovation, the kitchen needs a reno as well as the basement. There's outdoor need work on, outside kitchen areas. I would need an architect/ amazing contractor and at least $350k to get this house to my liking.

I like the house. It is a bit confusing trying to figure out which space is living room, dining, etc. Even the flow of the upstairs with the bedrooms is confusing. A little bit of staging would help to bring it alive. The cooking areas, indoor and outdoor, seems like it was set up for entertaining- where the cooks/caterers are kinda hidden from the guests. Ok I know I’m going too much. 😂

Certain features like the garden and spacious indoors interest me somewhat. Not worth $2.9M due to many dated features and the obvious lack of upkeep of the property. Renovations would incur a lot of costs after purchasing a house like this. Starting over would be even more expensive. The seller must come down on the price unless someone rich decides to snatch it up.

Lovely! And the EV pump at the front is a very good sign! And woohoo! Solar panels. These guys are scoring an A! I hope the realtor has figures on how much money those panels save. Beautiful garden, fabulous design, well-established. Look at the banana trees! Sure, you'd have to clean up that yard, but all the hard work has been done already. And that's mature (and expensive) landscaping. The kitchen looks like it was designed by an amateur homeowner. I believe the updates in the house are 1980's and 90's. The front part of the house is first third of the 20th century (same age as a lot of NW brick houses). I think that room with no closet is a trophy room. That game is croquet. It is pronounced crow-kay. Totally worth the $$$$.

I am back Jonathan. Had to review the video. The 1st floor bath with shower is in the office and I would consider this off limits to guests or business clients unless used as a library/study to be used by family and guests. Indeed a proper powder room is needed. You showed a closet on 1st floor that t needs attention. Not certain if the closet was for storage of kitchen, household supplies or coats etc. Many bathrooms needed updated cabinets used for storage. Basically a whole house renovation minus the floors. The floors are beautiful (no signs of wear or damage) which makes me think this home may not have been the primary residence. The lack of closets or enough closets in some bedrooms confirms my thought this was not a primary residence . Those who love to cook would like the outdoor cooking area which needs updating. Major changes needed in this house to add 2 half baths, first level and basement for visitors, contractors etc..

Yeah, I would be a lil annoyed having to go tru all that for access. Especially, if you pay those overcost fees for lockbox. Now, you know that I love unique and older homes. I love a bay window! And those floors! Definitely wife approved entry. I love the pit (sunken living room). As much as I love wood, I would replace those storage shelves for railing. Also, that fireplace and entertainment is a go for me. I love the backyard areas. Thanks for exploring it all! Yeah, the BBQ area needs updating. But I like how it's situated by the kitchen. I am a fan of galley kitchens. All that white gotta go for me. That first room would be an office. That closet goes with that next room. It's how it was designed back then. Anytime, there's a third level like that. Typically, it was an attic converted and I feel that should be just one suite. I would add outside entry for additional income. Basement was iight. I agree. It's not expensive to hire someone to do a simple cleaning. Yes, that is a Croquet set. I still have my grandmother's set. But that price.😑 Not for a house with standard closets. Too much work. But I love the house!

The house is amazing and the floors are to die for! The problem I saw is it’s very dated and eclectic. The multiple floor levels in the same room for no apparent reason always look like a fall hazard. The galley kitchen is long and narrow with no breaks. The ongoing maintenance is significant. It’s a beautiful house, but it’s very custom and it’s not for everyone.
@GMAMEC2 ай бұрын
Love the wood flooring and the design. It has plenty of natural light. Even though it’s an older home, it does have contemporary elements that can be elevated (if that’s a preference). It’s definitely not your typical older home (no formal living and dining areas, extra small closets, closed off areas etc.) . It’s a fairly open house, but has just the right amount of privacy. From a practical or economical perspective, I would not put a lot of money into this home, especially if other homes in the area are selling for less. It’s not economical or practical. It would be more practical to build or buy a new home. I hate that you had to wait to gain access to the house. You have to keep up with the times and be readily available , especially when you are selling a $2.9 million dollar home. Perhaps the agent will take in your comments and consider it constructive feedback. Overall, it’s a beautiful home. I hope that the family that purchases this home will appreciate the house and create lots of beautiful memories. Thanks for taking time to share.

I agree, access to the house is the first problem. Maybe the second and third problem too. Yes the floors are nice, but other than that, the old house lacks character. The update to me looks like it was done in the 80s or 90s or even the very early 2000’s. The only interesting architectural feature on the inside was the cut outs on the stairs. It is a huge and rambling house. It has no garage. However it did have a very big backyard with lots of room for surface parking in the front. I would think that all those windows would be a bit of a problem due to heat gain and heat loss. I see that huge curved window at the front being more of a problem because there’s nothing to look at across the street of any quality and then there’s the issue of privacy and once again heating and cooling. The The house might work as a home/gallery space. Yes, in many ways it is a nice place. It is a huge house. But as someone had said it lacks any of its original character. I think it is a good lesson for those who are interested in both history and renovation. We throw all this money and energy and consideration into updates. Yet we often fail to consider how will those updates age with this house as it continues to age. Thank you for showing it it was definitely worth viewing.

Perhaps 35 or 40 years ago, the home was turnkey perfect. Now, it is livable indeed; however, behind the times. I say, set the asking price low and let the buyers determine the perfect sales price for the sellers. This looks like a multi-generational house because there is something for the avid gardener, heavy duty hobbyist, teen, in-laws, boomerang kid, work from home warriors, home schoolers....everyone. $2,900,000 is not reflective of what the house currently is. I say, price it at $700,000 and let the "auction" begin.
