I’ve dealt with CMCA in a previous job very good company they can procure electronic components which are obsolete and can’t be found in the open market anymore, some obsolete electronic components are fake copies and sold on the black or grey market, this company has a good understanding of the procurement chain to guarantee the source of the component is good which is important if the components are used in military applications

I like his explanation of obsolescence management, to be fair i can see the use. Apparently i heard on the radio there is a need for floppy discs for Tshirt printers, because that was the tech when most were built, and they were built to last and cost a fortune. So there is a guy who refurbs floppys for them. I work in a old, very heavy mechanical industry, in truth we tend to manage our own obsolescence but have many devices that are hand made in the victorian era so often have to get bespoke pieces made.
