I’ll tell you why Hip Hop doesn’t respect Ice Spice: it’s because Ice Spice doesn’t respect Hip Hop. It’s as simple as that. I can’t think of a single mainstream rapper who shows as much contempt for the culture and the people who support her as Ice Spice does. How else can you explain the low-effort, barely finished, uninspired “music” her talent-free ass releases? Throughout her time in the spotlight, it was clear that Ice Spice wasn’t even trying. The fact that she has risen so high is an embarrassment to Hip Hop. I doubt she can even believe she’s made it this far. Everyone who contributed to her rise-whether fans who praised her lackluster records or Nicki Minaj, who collaborated with her and called her "The Princess of Hip Hop"-should be ashamed of themselves, especially when there are countless more talented and deserving young female rappers in the industry today. I’ll give her one thing, though: she made it way further than I ever thought she would. I was sure she'd be a plague for a few months at the most and then mercifully disappear to trouble us no more. I honestly hope we never hear from her again.

If they wanted her to release an album, they should’ve prioritized her artist development. She needed to drop a variety of singles first to build anticipation and show her range. There was no real demand for an album because she kept delivering the same kind of singles repeatedly. These label executives really dropped the ball. Honestly, it’s often up to the artist to study the industry and strategize their next moves. It seems like she got too caught up in the moment to do that.

Ice Spice had the "look" that her record company wanted, but unfortunately she's missing talent. Ice Spice looks bored and uninterested, but she probably signed a contract so she's stuck. I bet Spice is regretting it all.
