Jennifer's charisma and natural talents are extraordinary and although we're not seeing her in leading roles or as the star in big production TV series, she's doing her thing. She is so mesmerising on screen that all it will take is a casting director to see past the 'Oscar winning superstar' to her range. If she can bear it (because these things can really take over your life), I see her as the lead in a big bucks Netflix series that will remind people what she can do.

The problem is humans have this idea that people who obtain extreme abnormal levels of success are supposed to keep attaining more and more but it's just not realistic. While I do agree people should be recognized for their work as it happens, realistically it doesn't always work out that way and the most successful ones seem to get their over a longer period of time rather than blowing up immediately/in the moment. I was a big fan of hers at first. I liked her style, I liked her voice, I liked that she wasn't skinny and that she was so confident and positive about her size; as someone who was dealing with being bullied and my own body issues/EDNOS at the time, I found her refreshing and relatable and it was awesome seeing a bigger woman gain success and achieve things and be praised and NOT be put down for her weight. Then she lost all that weight, started being pro-skinny, had all these interviews basically trashing her former size, and it was very alienating and I lost a lot of respect for her after that, because growing up I had looked up to her as a role model and suddenly she was reaffirming the same hurtful things I'd been told so often.

I don't recall Jennifer Hudson being absent from the world of Hollywood. She never stopped being an A-lister. What makes one an A-lister isn't how often you see them, but how much their name speaks volumes. Jennifer Hudson is a household name. She's right, she is often used for her fame.
