Why Homeworld 3 Will Be One of The BIGGEST GAMES of 2024

Huge is the task lying ahead of Blackbird Interactive; delivering a worthy threequel some two decades in the making to one of the biggest RTS series of all time is no small feat. In a way which mirrors the scale of their task, the unfathomably widescreen scale of Homeworld 3 is amongst this game’s leading selling point.
To accomplish an unprecedented level of scale, BBI are incorporating monolithic megastructures into the battlefield - gargantuan megaliths providing topographically rich environments in which to find cover, flank, deceive, and destroy. This feature will discuss BBI’s attempts at upscaling an already indeterminable space combat sim alongside Homeworld 3’s new roguelike game mode War Games. Can Homeworld 3 inspire legions of fans in the same way its predecessors did?

I really hope they nail the story, I have played the originals, cataclysm, DoK and the remasters, I wasn't that fond of HW2 due to the story but I hope this one hits hard.

​@@hellride8544it can be done, but far from everything especially audio will be the same.. my best example is if the movie Casablanca would be remade today. It wouldn't be entirely possible as the actors would be different, and play maybe a touch differently. Along with modern cameras wouldn't be able to look the same etc. And it would require a full game development time and money. But I agree I wish they do it. And I would pay full money for it, maybe even more if the nailed it to be as close as the original!

Imagine a mod making a monalith the Death star and your fighters Xwings? You could do some crazy stuff. How about a 40k Blackstone Fortress attack or a Tyrinid Hive fleet bearing down on a unexpecting Battle Barge with a few nova friggets as escorting friggets and 3 wings of strike craft. The ideas are endless.

People seem to overlook that both HW1&2 had their share of patches to end up like the pinnacle of RTS they are today. Now HW3 gameplay is different than both HW1&2. So it will never be the same, but alot of the bugs and balance In sure will ve fixed with time. And then nore of us will be used to the new gameplay. The Story! However is shit! No excuse, on why they went this route away from the epic saga in HW1&2 + Cataclysm. And went for this woke shit. And if you look at the behind the scene, art and story that was dropped. It was there... :( Anyway in the end I understand why people are disappointed, upset. As we waited for so long, gave our feedback during the initial development. And especially during this time of gaming. As many franchises are in battle with their fandoms. That be because of woke, money greed, monetisation. I understand the lack of trust and patience with any game released. BBI didn't do that bad besides the story. So Im hopefull that much can be done with patches. With balance, content, bugs and gameplay issues.

I think you might be too confident to hype homeworld 3, as far as I can tell, it far worse than homeworld 1 & 2, especially in story and tactical strategy. It maybe a so-so RTS game.

Are you just reading from the script they gave you?? The units dont have attack move command! Game is dead to me. 20y ago you could order ships to move in specific direction while maintaining firing cpositions, now, 20y later, you cannot do that, and combat is whatever watered down. I wont be buying homeworld 3 .

You are referring to the demo which came out 3 months ago, and they delayed the game based on the feedback from the demo so they've probably implemented attack move and other things players have feedback on
