Thanks for watching! You may be asking, "Morgan, WHY are you so sweaty in this video?" Well, my friend, that's because I had no AC in the middle of a humid thunderstorm. Don't forget about getting 50% off my watermelon-themed UX journal with code MorganUX! etsy.me/3i0nuTN

This was helpful. I am coming from a marketing background too and found a passion for UX/UI. Appreciate the perspective that you bring in this video!

I gave up UX in 2018 after working for a company that didn't really care about UX design. I shifted to content marketing. But now that copywriting has been disrupted, I am thinking of going back to UX design. Are companies more open to UX design now than in 2018? Are there more jobs now? There were not that many back in 2018.

I am not sure how the market now compares to that of 2018 since I didn't even know UX existed yet haha. I can definitely say that there are many UX and product design openings, it's just tougher for junior designers to get their foot in the door because there is so much supply. Since you have UX experience as well as content experience, I'm sure you'll have a much easier time. My company even has UX content strategists and UX writing as careers - there's a lot of opportunity now.

Thank you so much for this helpful and realistic video! Currently working as a product manager and working w the UX researchers in my company realized I am very interested in the UX/UI field, and I was looking at Career Foundry as well! Do you think Career Foundry taught you enough that you needed to jumpstart your career?

Whoops didn’t finish the question for career foundry, but do you think the projects (portfolio) that you did in career foundry is enough to help someone land a job?

@@mimichen123 I absolutely think that CareerFoundry leaves you ready to jumpstart your career! Especially because they have a job guarantee where if you don't get a job within 6 months of graduation you get your money back as well as a job prep course. I think that with your experience as a product manager, you wouldn't have much trouble landing a job. Regarding the projects, I believe that you should have 1 or 2 additional case studies separate from your CF projects, because a lot of people who graduate at the same time as you will have an identical portfolio when applying for jobs. The case study you create from your UX immersion course is a fantastic blueprint for additional case studies because you go through the entire UX (and a bit of UI) design process. I suggest you watch my most recent video on mistakes to avoid in your UX bootcamp to better understand what you can do to put yourself in a better position to get hired once you graduate!
