I was a vegetarian for 10 years, vegan for 2. I had to get iron infusions and b12 shots. I was on medication for migraines, IBS, ADHD, and allergies. I had chronic kidney stones between 7mm and 16mm. I had chronic sinus infections, tonsillitis, and bronchitis. I was on medicine for joint pain, antibiotics, steroid packs, and Cortisone shots...this was all in my teens and 20s. I wasn't eating crap. I did tons of research and I ate great (I thought so anyway). Now that I am in my mid 30s and I am keto/carnivore, I take nothing, no medication. All I take is liver capsules and vitamin D when I'm not getting sun.

I feel like keto is the gateway diet that leads to carnivore. It seems like almost everyone I've talked to that has went carnivore did keto first. But I know for me, I thought keto was too extreme for a while. Then when I was keto and heard about carnivore I thought that was too extreme. But boy, I feel SO much better, so I'm glad I gave both of them a try.

You’re right!! I was keto for a year but I leaned more towards higher protein naturally just because I always loved meat lol it was easy for me to transition to carnivore, I was carnivore for 2 years but fell off the wagon when the “pandemic” happened and sudden life changes like suddenly losing my brother and we had just bought a house one of my son’s was getting married it was a surprise to us, my youngest son couldn’t go back to high school due to the virus, so that was enough for me to give up on my life. Just recently I got back on carnivore and started feeling amazing again 💖

I think that makes sense, but also that it's important to know that what we call fruits now, really are hybridized to the point of being vessels of fructose delivery. And just saying: vegans like to talk about the environment but most of the fruits most of us eat are trucked in to our local markets from far away..

In New Zealand, we just have one christmas tree. I turned to the Keto / Carnivore diet to balance my system after suffering from general anxiety and depression for years. Due to low dopamine levels, I had a carb and sugar addiction, dopaminergic foods (that induce the neurochemical Dopamine), refined carbs, excessive snacking - crackers, chips, pies, donuts, flans, chocolate, candy, cake etc,, poor appetite for main meal, and inconsistent eating habits. I was already feeling disturbed by childhood trauma, thats why I tried to use food to make myself feel better, and then all the negative physical effects of bad food choices compound the original shitty feelings. Therein lies the mystery behind all the fat, miserable people, dying young, the world over, a mixture of emotional trauma and toxic food. We should not be surprised by our current world situation.

@@1977NOBODY Whole fruit and carbs make me bloated, miserable, and just sick. I believe that everyone is different as far as dietary needs. Good for you that you do well one whole food plant based, but that doesn't mean everyone else does. I'm absolutely thriving on carnivore. For a good 10 years I suffered every, single, day, so much so that I didn't want to live to an old age, I just wanted my suffering to end. I tried everything, I ate "healthy", I exercised, I tried every supplement known to man, and I just got sicker and sicker. Nothing worked. Nine months on keto helped a lot, but not enough. Four months on carnivore and I'm not longer suffering, I'm no longer so bloated that I look 11 months pregnant, and no longer so bloated that it hurts into my back and shoulders. I'm no longer retaining fluid, no longer inflamed all over. AND I had untreatable diarrhea for the last 10 years, every day, and that is cleared up too. All of my pain is gone, and I'm getting stronger all the time. AND I'm losing weight. So please, don't try and tell me what's good for me, because you're COMPLETELY wrong.

Fruits kick up my addiction for more fruits, which then kicks up my cravings for other sweets, so I have to limit my fruit intake to twice a year as a special treat. Also, eating any kind of carbs usually causes me to bloat, and also brings back my anxiety and depression, which is another reason I have to restrict fruits.

Hoping I can make a long observation as short of a comment as possible. Thinking about the idea of being fixated on food is interesting, because no matter if one is a "foodie" and thinking about their next fun meal, or someone who has decided to be deliberate about their food choices, food is a fixation. I became a vegan 18 months ago for 3 reasons. My best friend and running partner has been vegan for over 10 years and is the healthiest person I know. She's older than me and out runs me all the time. I was experiencing non specific health issues like fatigue, brain fog, etc and wanted to up my fitness and health, and lastly I researched and found hundreds upon hundreds of studies about the health benefits. I got my certification in plant based nutrition and read and follow anything I can get my hands on about optimum diet. I did feel better, got more energy and lost the brain fog. I've seen dozens of people reverse their heart disease on a WFPB diet. However, eventually the same issues settled in for me that probably have nothing to do with diet. So I'm open minded. I watch videos about other diets because I truly want to do what's best for my body. And just like the hundreds upon hundreds of studies I can find about plant based eating (the longest living peoples in the world typically eat little to no meat), I can probably find hundreds upon hundreds of studies saying a meat based diet is best. It is all very frustrating and leaves most people confused. I know I'll get people commenting adamant that this TRULY is best, but if I go to a plant based website or channel, they say the same. I guess this is more of a rant than a comment, just to say that the issue of optimum diet is very frustrating and confusing. Lay people try to put their faith in 'experts', but there are very competent experts in both camps with compelling information.

I love this comment! ❤️ I have an aunt who has eaten vegan/vegetarian for 30 years. It works for her and she seems happy. My fiancé tried vegan for 3 years and ended up with a list of autoimmune conditions he is now trying to reverse with an animal based diet. It’s hard to know what’s “the best” or who to even trust (especially on the internet) so I keep an always listening to different podcast/videos on both sides and keep an open mind. There’s so much we don’t know about nutrition still. Thanks for sharing your opinion it’s always nice to see how we can “choose a different side” but still be kind, brave, and vulnerable to be open minded and share our thoughts. Have a blessed 2022 year and I hope you continue to find what works best for you ❤️

Have you seen the videos of the long-term vegan reading out there HDL and LDL levels? This does not heal heart disease? Heart disease is from my bacteria it actually comes from the mouth. Azithromycin will get rid of it. The problem is plant oils. When you cook a plant oil, literally a polymer off of plastic. That's what lies down in your arteries tightly. Animal fat has never given anyone a heart attack. The very fact that they give people blood pressure medicine beta blockers. Also this blocks the most important nutrient CoQ10, it's food for your muscles. What is the one muscle that never stops? The heart. If people are truly heavy, a vegan diet can help them lose weight it can trigger them into ketosis for their body to eat their own fat because there's lack of fat. If you don't have the proper fats you can't make hormones. Hormones neurotransmitters all that good stuff. Vegan people just live off of their stores. And convictions. I truly think that many vegans are not thinking on all cylinders at all. Our nutrients were never vegan. Ever. You cannot be vegan without a city. Nope. and since we have been studying genetics, we have found a large percentage of the population actually cannot handle carbohydrates, or even oxalates. I'm one of those people can handle oxalates. Carbohydrates pack weight on me. My ballet teacher used to say, brown rice before burgers. No way I always ate the burger. Forget about the bun. I have EDS hypermobility. I lack the specific DNA to host the bacteria to break down oxalates. I can't even take it. That diet would kill me. Almost did three times. I've been to Hell and back. Oxalate shards in my muscle fascia and tissues. Not to mention my kidneys making Stones like Corey. Only one good working kidney. We are not all genetic imprints of each other we are more like thumbprints. Little tweaks here and there. You can categorize us. Most definitely. But we're not all the same. I think veganism, is a means of control. Which is disgusting because literally vitality of life living with the circle of life you are an animal. You need animals to survive. I'm so happy the market finally has animal nutrients to take. I have been taking a concoction of certain things since I was 18 years old. Funny Dr Cusack calls it her protocol and she just made it up a few years back. Heavy eye roll. It is what it is. But, part of my protocol is drinking bone broth. It's very difficult for calcium to be within my system as well as magnesium and potassium. Having only one good working kidney my body throws out a lot of nutrients. I need the most nutrient dense foods. I actually need tryptophan from real bones, so I can take in the available sunlight to make melanin melatonin and D3. It is essential for my body to keep higher pregnenolone levels. Keeps my thyroid in check. Keeps my inflammation in check. I can't make pregnenolone without cholesterol from egg yolks. Egg yolk can be used immediately to make pregnenolone. That is your master mother hormone of all hormones. It dictates your hormone production. It's your natural steroidal hormone. When that is offset, all other hormones are offset as well. Guess what. If you're not growing every single thing that you're eating and you think that buying organic is healthier. Organic lentils have been the highest running amount of glyphosate in them more than your conventional GMO grown corn sprayed 3 to 4 times per year with glyphosate weather permeable. It's considered organic if you notice on organic things they say no synthetic pesticides the chemical byproduct of glyphosate chemical salt considered organic. They spray the plant within the last week or so of harvest, they allowed the plant to die back. Easier to harvest the seed. The plant doesn't have enough time to metabolize the glyphosate to the levels are astronomically high. By the way glyphosate not only mimics your estrogen called a xenoestrogen. It also mimics glycine. Terrible thing to do because it leaves an open door to prions. See Doctor Stephanie Seneff's work. Not only does it mimic your estrogen, which offset your hormones. It also kills your gut bacteria the same way it kills a plant. Via the Shikimate Pathway. Of course humans do not have this pathway that's why they say glyphosate is so safe. But what has this pathway is your gut bacteria. Your gut bacteria is responsible for more than just breaking down a nutrient. It's the communication hub between all cells. It helps to simulate nutrients for neurotransmitters and hormones. Each one has a specific task. Fact insulin shrinks the brain. And that is a fact. Ketones are extremely good for the brain. As a matter of fact a person with early onset dementia should immediately be put on a very strict ketogenic / carnivore diet. I've had two family members on this medicinal diet their whole lives. My grandmother had early onset dementia at 51. She died at 98 it was only 2 years that we noticed her dementia. That's how awesome that diet is. My cousin had epilepsy from an injury. Jabby jabby. If you catch my drift. 18 years old he was on over 30 medications I believe it was 36 or 38. Long story short an angel of a man just gave him that word the ketogenic diet as he was picking up more epilepsy medication. It was so severe he would have to be tied down in a chair so that he wouldn't hurt his body. A special chair was made specifically for his seizures. Within a year and 3 months he was down to three medications that were not medicines they were actually things to help him methylate. He'll be 52 this year he's seizure free and he's been seizure free after that year in 3 months. Still to this day. But all's doctors had for him, was medication. He eats a carnivore diet today. I am not without information on this my very own father-in-law was part inventor of a specific Roundup. He studied microbes bacteria insects hogs and cattle. I have so much to say about this subject. Not only, can insulin inducing diets be extremely bad, also eating many things that are doused and sprayed with glyphosate, unknowing. Killing off good gut bacteria. Anxiety mood swings, bipolar, schizophrenia is linked to methylation toxicity, glyphosate is on that list. As well as all the medications you give people that can't methylate they're going to wind up loopy. Candida is a mechanism of helping our bodies remove toxins. It can become over abundant within our bodies whenever we're eating foods that induce insulin. Insulin overworks your pancreas overworks your gallbladder doesn't allow the liver to actually properly function not breaking down the proper nutrients to actually flush your cells properly. Those that just don't feel right and can't get it right in their diet. Please have an MTHFR SNP gene mutation test. Over 60% of the population can't methylate properly. Guarantee that your problem. People don't realize how toxic they truly are. To remove toxin to do it through the liver. The kidneys do remove a few toxins but the majority of it is your liver. If your liver cannot function properly your liver cannot remove toxins. All of the jabby jabbies, all of the toxins that are on your skin that you have eaten that you have drank that you have ingested and so on. Have built up over time. Back to Candida, a yeast fungi can actually trigger a person to have dopamine levels rise whenever they feed it exactly what it survives off of. You can actually see this in action whenever you watch people that do mock bongs and eat very carb Rich fattening foods. It's not the fat that's fattening it's the carbohydrates. Their elation, and then guilt after they have eaten what they really shouldn't have. There's a reason why we have candida in our body but whenever eating an insulin diet. At least that's what I call it. Candida Will survive and thrive. When you feed the proper bacteria within your gut exactly what it needs. You function flawlessly. Our forefathers, never had nutrients in a bottle. Humanity goes on longer than they will ever give credit for we're talking millennia. We did not make it where we are without animals. We need good animal husbandry skills smaller footprint farms animals living as intended. People meeting their meat. Namibia Africa is now our largest importer of beef. Terrible quality meat. Full of dye no fat it's disgusting. No more pushing imports around the world. You want to care about your world. Stop shipping bananas fruit nuts and seeds and oils and everything else all around the world and just deal with what you grow where you live. Everyone should eat to the region of their origins. Truly. There's a reason why Inuit people can eat seal meat and seal fat and have perfect hearts. You do what you want. But I guarantee you 10 years down the road. You're going to feel a difference. And you do not find life and vitality in a ground up shake. Or making things to substitute other things. And a reminder. All vegans turn a really weird yellow salad grayish green color. You lack tryptophan. I said before, tryptophan being the lightest brightest amino acid out there allowing you to take in the available sunlight to make melanin melatonin and D3. It is essential. Also the Sun never gave us cancer. Virus is mutating our DNA via our RNA did. They always have. Since 1799. Publication Eleanor I McBean 1957. Don't put It down. please take my words to heart. 23-year herbalist. I'm really good at what I do.

I heard about carnivore from my son halfway through February 2023. I ended up starting the carnivore lifestyle March 3rd never tried keto. But that is okay. I'm 66 and had arthritis in my back, hip, knees and starting in my hands. The arthritis stopped bothering me by the end of 2 weeks and never came back! Also 2 moles and a skin tag dried up and are gone! That is another crazy thing! Anyone out there wondering about this diet that are having arthritis pain, please take a few weeks out of your life to try this, it is truly a miracle. You will probably stay on it like I'm doing, cause I don't want that pain to come back..oh, and when I sleep, I actually sleep deeper than before and I also have more energy than before!!

Hi Lillie ! Thank you so much for all your content! just wanted to let you know my journey started when i became a born again Christian and was lead to do the blood type diet and it was amazing felt so good my blood type is O and its mostly beef and veggies but specific veggies and no processed foods and i did very well . I had some issues an dthey went away alright than i tried vegan and it was okay in the beginning but after 7 years i just wanted more and wanted to feel like i did before especially since i was mainly eating really clean but ate junk later on not good ;( . But as woman i started wanting Raw Milk and i wanted beef. I had to jump into it and i took bile salts and im doing so much better consuming beef and staying away from carbs. Now i'm learning about how you and many others eat the carnivore diet! i'm excited because i just had to stop the vegan diet its good if your fasting or cleaning your system but my body needed the beef and my took time to adjust and im in bw now either going all carnivore or blood type again. maybe you can make a video about your thoughts on the blood type diet? My husband is a vegan still and he is doing well but he is blood type A an he does well with the vegan diet according to Dr.Dadamo .

Amazing. You provide SUCH great contributors. I have linked to Dr. Z's channel and will begin consuming her stuff right away! I'm down over 100 lbs. on keto/"meato" and only regret not learning the truth about food and the phony carb industry when I was teaching biology and chemistry. I could have enlightened some kids and saved some lives. I can still see some of my morbidly obese teen students eating their pizza and burger lunches every day on their way to disaster. Me too. I reached 340 pounds (6') at my peak. Now around 235 and on my way to 210ish for life. THANKS LILLIE FOR YOUR CHANNEL

One thing I noticed right away when I went strictly carnivore, is that my eye sight sharpened up again. By the way, (I know, ...way off subject), If you ever took one of those, "What type of canine are you?, personality tests, I think your result would be Golden retriever or something like that. 😆 You seem so happy and friendly. (I think mine was border collie or something similar. Anyway, nice interview. It's sad we have to actually break out of the brainwashing from school, which is the one institutions one would think would stay more up to date on the subjects they teach.

Addicted to the # on the scale. Then enter a health challenge 17 years ago that completely devestated my health and it got worse every year. Enter desperation and then CARNIVORE!!!!!!!! 😁 NOW....... I ONLY WEIGH TWICE A YEAR. I work out every day. I'M 98% Carnivore 2% Ketovore. I had a breakthrough this year after 15 months of eating this 98%/2%. I gained 8 lbs 😳☺👍 (thinking some is muscle cause I'm seeing definition😁) All my clothes fit better. I have lost a TON of inflammation and I had to get a smaller wedding ring. THANK YOU!! She verified my conclusions on evolution and the carnivore diet. It makes sense that if the hominid population spent ninety percent of our evolutionary history eating meat, then our bodies are adapted to EATING MEAT. Sure, we would supplement with fruits and grains as we wandered through places where they grew, but it wasn't until about 20,000 years ago that farming became 'a thing'. 20,000 years out of 2 million is not enough time, in evolutionary terms, to make us vegans. Our vestigial appendix shows that as well. Thank you for this guest.

Awhile back, I came across Dr. Shawn Baker, MD, and started following him and listening to his Carnivore Diet advice. I came to the conclusion about 1 1/2 years ago that the reason we needed to "limit" our red meat was due to the GMO junk and other junk our beef has in the meat from what they've been fed that is very unhealthy for us. I started to purchase "grass fed pasture raised free range" beef, lamb, bison, chicken, and eggs. I look for the "organic / non-GMO" on the label when I grocery shop. Now, the idea of no fruits, very limited vegetables, very little carbs if any...these are a little foreign to me. I switched from any and all "processed" vegetable oils and started cooking with EVOO, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, and Ghee...now I see here that the EVOO, Avocado Oil, and Coconut Oil may not be good fats to ingest, and to stick with animal fats like Ghee, grass fed beef and bison lard and bacon & bacon fat from pasture raised pigs. I have always loved calf's liver & onions, chicken hearts and gizzards, but I've not eaten any other organ meats.

Have you tried Butcher Box? If not you should! And maybe get them to sponsor you? If you go with the 2-12 10oz steaks per delivery plan, it comes out to $19.2 per pound of high quality grass-fed ribeye! Safeway used to be the same price, but it's now $24 a pound for ribeye where I live. I find it's as cheap or marginally more to just eat grass-fed steaks, basmati rice (yeah i know not carnivore but it has the lowest glycemic load compared to other rices and is high in calories), bacon, and eggs than junk foods like pizza and fast food or snacks. They also sell grass-fed ground beef for $7 a pound among other meat deals.

Dr. Gundry seems to be instrumental in many people seeing the dangers of plant based diets. Myself included. However, it's like a back-handed compliment to him because many people learn what the real proven science is, and leave him behind. A lot of his beliefs are still based on allopathic doctoring and corporate jingoism. We go beyond his pay-grade, and and can see it. Bless his heart. I wonder if he's aware of his initial impact on non-followers.

Then a month into carnivore and they started going up some. I have no idea why. We're waiting 6 months for my next labs to let my system settle. Hopefully all of my labs are better next time. If they're not, well I don't know what to tell them, because I'm staying carnivore for the foreseeable future.

@@2L82Sk8Bye Does he also cover trigs? Because my LDL isn't crazy high. In fact, it went down 10 points. It's my triglycerides that are increasing.

Great interview. I tried a plant based diet about 3!years ago. I do a lot of exercise and my recovery went to absolute poop. Sore muscles etc. Went back onto an animal based diet after about a month of plant based eating and regained lost muscle mass and could recover from exercise properly. So true about plant based doctors having no muscle

I would be interesting to see an interview for womens health! I’m pregnant and I’m not eating all meat cause my food aversions hate meat right now haha! However, I would love a video about how this diet can help or ruin a pregnancy. Thanks!!

Lillie, I saw a couple of charts in one of your videos comparing the environmental impact of cattle versus farming. At least I think it was your video. Might you have the link to those images?

If you have trouble with organ meat try, and stick to, for a while . . . Chicken Liver cooked well done in butter - beginning with pieces no bigger than one half inch diameter. You can also add more salt and/or spices to the butter while cooking if you still cannot hack it.

I am still going to eat me some calf liver. It wasn't cheap today but it's far cheaper than the bottle of supplements. I love me some liver and my body thanks me for eating it. Since my hemoglobin or iron went up so I can keep donating platelets and save lives.

My problem is I think I know what to do its just that life happens. Between Chistmas and getting the flu I ate wrong for two weeks gained weight. Now its back to getting off the sugar and lose the 5 pounds I put on.

I had tried plant based, lost lots of muscle, lots of stomach problems, gas, bloating, gastric pain, doing higher meats right now and bloating and gas have gone down, I don't look pregnant anymore, still healing my stomach issues, still having pain but I don't feel like I have a rock in my abdomen anymore. Time will tell.
