My trainer at TMC yelled at me one time and it wasn’t in anger. I was backing up and almost hit a fence I didn’t see. He was watching closely and once he realized I didn’t see it he yelled “STOP” from outside the truck on the driver side. He actually felt bad and apologized later lol. I told him, “man if I’m going to hit something don’t be afraid to throw something at me even!” Lol. We got along really well and he was a nice guy and great trainer. He also let me do the work but he did help as long as I understood what was going on. Only thing he made me do exclusively is roll up the tarps and put them back in the rack! What a douche!!! J/k!! He was a great trainer and I still talk to him sometimes.

I’ve trained people to be EMTs and Park Rangers. The thing that bugs me more than anything else is when they’re not coachable and when they don’t show any initiative. Here’s a tip for some people when training in any job: If you’re yelling at your trainer, the company has to assume you might end up yelling at a customer. You might lose your cool and make driving mistakes, or worse, road rage. Most customers won’t see anyone from the company except for the drivers. So When you’re out there, you represent the company. I’m not a driver yet but I have TMC at the top of my list when I get my license. Keep up the good work

Keep training brother teach others what you learn that is a blessing and set everything straight with that trainnee before he or she comes on board your truck. Hay Axel I feel your pain! I am a trainer for the Maine Dept of Transportation, that is one thing I will not put up with is someone yelling at me. We are there to teach them to do the right and safe thing. I know I can rest easy at home after I finish with an employee that they will be a safe operator for us, and they know how to take care of the equipment that pays their salary’s. It is a tough job and I appreciate the job you are doing and feel your pain, you are doing the right thing. Making the roads safer for our families traveling the roads! Axel, TMC needs to do a better job at screening candidates. With the lack of employees, all employers have lowered the bar. The net result, you get unqualified trainees. You are the boss on your rig and your doing the right thing. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!🎁

Training is hard! I'm taking a break for the winter. This is a great video! I wish all the new recruits understood the pressure and the stress we go through when we train. Super stressful, we don't get the sleep we would like, and we don't have our own space. This video is a small good explanation of our trainers stressful life. Good lookin out! Happy holidays!

I remember you telling me a lot of this at the Hotel in Des Moines when I questioned you about training. I started to wonder why I hadn’t seen any new content come out and then I saw this. I did complete the TTT course that weekend but I’ve yet to get a trainee. I’m like you, I’ve got lots of patience but when the meter is full, it’s full and we’re done. I applied with TMC but I had 2 tickets in 2019 and they rejected me. In May of 2022 It will be 3 years since my last ticket. I am not sure if I should apply again at that point or try somewhere else. I have been watching your videos and appreciate all the content you share with us. Hopefully one day I can get my foot in the door. Take care and have a great Christmas sir. Keep up the good work. Hey man, a week from being done with yard training with TMC South Carolina, just watched your “what I make in a week vid” and it’s intriguing. You say in a couple vids if drivers are making 700-800/wk they have to be doing something wrong, but like, half your checks after tax and deductions were in that range. So idk, curious if it’s really just luck of the week with loads or consistency, because basically what I got out of the majority of these videos is that I’m looking at about $55k before taxes at the end of the year. Idk pretty discouraging. I can tell TMC probably won’t be a company I stay with long. I at least expected breaking my back for a year I’d be close to $70k before taxes.

I live in a state where they take a shit load of taxes. TMC is one of the best starting and to make money you need to know how trucking works that’s why drivers don’t last

Training is stressful. Even after they get in their "own" truck, I would be stressed that they wouldn't screw up something or get hurt/killed. If they couldn't do the job I didn't pass them. But you always know if something goes wrong it will come back to you.

(Ducks in a row) and having to stay out 5 week is not even a problem, if my family can go through a 9 month deployment and many 30 day field problem too easy to stay out 5 week....I will keep looking for your videos 🤙🤙🤙 keep up the great job, an be safe

Trainee sounds like a snow flake. I am looking at TMC. I want to do everything. Why? Cause I will have to do it all myself at some point. Hard work is lost in todays society. I am old school. I believe in respect and treat others how you want to be treated. Be safe and I hope to see you some day as a TMC fellow driver.
