When you do an alignment, put your body weight in the driver seat, and put a straight line reference mark on the steering wheel to column where you can see it from outside the car when the steering wheel is straight. Always aggressively bounce the car and roll the car forwards and back when doing an alignment without turn plates. That's what we did in the Spec Miata world.
@Smeedia3 жыл бұрын
I'll have to give that a try when I do the 05s alignment 🙏
@ryan_from_tmg4 жыл бұрын
ABS light is likely due to steering angle sensor needing a zero point calibration since you messed with the alignment. The ECU sees you driving straight but the steering angle sensor doesn't see 0 degrees.

Seeing those 2 brands side by side it’s a no brainer, FAs all the way, YS look cheap, the FAs can also be upgraded with a rebuild to the next level eg 5:10s, Silcone Chrome spring (Swift springs as options) Radial bearings, just all round quality, 24 adj rebound, 5 year warranty and they have the service and backup as well which I like so they gonna last as long as you can abuse em. No comparison on the bench or car, YS look like an eBay set frankly, am a little disappointed when see em side by side. Good stuff bro, glad ya seen the light, next step some 5:10s on the STI lol 🤘 I take back my comments re yr Subi dealer taking so long in precious vid, I didn’t realise they did all those other things for ya, so nice to hear a dealer looking after a client so we’ll for a change and in these difficult times 👍

TheTopher on You Tube said if you change coil overs on GT86/BRZ gets it very close to feeling like 2017 model, so bet pretty good feeling. Thanks for going through this good to know if I ever buy some new Suspension, for any car in the future. Agree seems the adjuster a bits flimsy on the Yellow Speeds plus clunk noise probably not great, and rust issues. Fortune Auto springs seem much better build wise. I think the clutch will get better as you bed in, my new clutch was like that for a while, and eventually got higher bite.
@Smeedia4 жыл бұрын
The clutch has slowly been getting better as I drive it, and th3 yellow speeds aren't totally bad just the price is too high for what you get. If they spent more time in QC they could prob be better. But fortune auto is far better 🔥

Great video, as always!!! The FA500s do look so much nicer than the YSRs. Why are the YSR front coilovers so much longer than the FA500?? It looked like it was about 3-4 inches longer, below where the knuckle bolts to it.

You dont HAVE to buy toe plates if you dont want to spend the money lol, you could use 2 equal size pieces of aluminum and a tape measure, but also make sure you take 2 pieces of sheet metal per side and put grease in between them like a sandwich and have the tires sit on those so the tires move freely if not you'll get false toe readings until you move the car back and forth after adjusting the steering rods

I have the YSR inverted coilovers for my '18 elantra. After watching this video, It seems like yours has some slight differences between mines when it comes to the build quality. Seems like whoever was working on yours didn't do that much of a good job. And the inverted coilovers are $1,300. The one you got is like $949. I get that you mean by it being soft and their preferences are different than other companies and you could of requested higher spring rates via emailing them as they are QUICK to reply. My instructions aren't just paper. It's a good feeling booklet that's several pages long. And not to mention mines was completely painted all the way and not showing any spots. So, Someone over there wasn't doing a good job.

This is kind of my reservation with aftermarket parts. Sure there are a lot of reputable companies with great parts and warranties, but then you have this shit. You pay top dollar (literally, I'm pretty sure known good coilovers from like BC and Tien are cheaper than these), for coilovers that rust in a matter of days. In your garage. On top of every other very legitimate complaint you voiced here. But, there you are sorting out the bullshit for everyone, and finding the good parts!
