I love frontend better, because its more visual. You can express your artistic side. You can touch on design, animations, 3D. For those who are wondering wich path to choose, if you are more artisticly inclined, go for the frontend , and if you like more problem solving, logic go for backend.

Can totally relate. When I was doing fullstack before, there was a lot of resistance especailly that our task were more on the backend. The only reason I tried to convince myself to keep on doing fullstack is because I felt function is more important than design, and that somehow became my self-validation to society. But I wasn't happy doing all those functional backend stuff. I know things can work without aesthetics and probably, design is just going to be secondary, but I really feel alive using my artistic skills and I feel I can pour more of me here, so yeah, I'm going for frontend.

Would I create a backend with an Admin Login that leads to an Admin page which allows them to create 'news cards' that update the on the news section of the web page. Or I have to somehow attach my website to a CMS or re-create my website through a CMS , I'm really not sure what is generally done in this case? Thank you.

Definitely software engineering for pretty much any 'practical' (i.e. industry) programming. CS is generally more aimed at research (although it will still be fine for industry as a lot of people take CS without the intention of staying in academia). Although if you're comparing between different institutes, CS may be better than SE since some institutes just have worse curriculums than others

If you have some exposure in high school, the college CS classes will definitely become easier for you. One thing about programmers is that the learning never stops. But Everything u need to help u learn is available online too. Don’t let ur age stop u from learning. At the same time tho, it’s perfectly ok to not have any programming knowledge prior to attending college! Most people are like that and the entry level Cs classes at college will teach u the fundamentals. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself

I don't understand how something can be difficult and boring at the same time. I'm talking about backend. Difficult...sadly yes. BORING? I wish... maybe then my brain would hurt less. P.S. learning Java now ( mechanical engineering background).

I'm in high school and front-end development is the first career choice that comes to mind when I think about my future. I'm currently learning HTML and CSS in school, but are there any opportunities extra-curricular wise or just in general that I can do to hone my skills and get a headstart?
@antons7210

Don't focus solely on front-end. It is becoming more and more common that companies will require you to know pretty much everything. So my advice is to master front-end and become good at back-end.

Typically, no. But like any job, if you work for a toxic company that lives by "we work hard we play hard", then you're in for bad time. Most front end devs have good work life balance, although the job can require occasional overtime when it comes to product releases.

@johnjohns_channel
@johnjohns_channel 3 жыл бұрын
to answer your question , Web developers are software engineers that specialize in the web development branch , to break it down a lil bit there is many branches of software engineering, web development is one of them but you can also do phone applications on IOS or work on Robotics such as alexa and Iris i hear there is alot of money on robotics , also game developers that code and develop games are consider software engeneers I hope that helps answering your question .
