Awesome..i have a 04 yz450f and tons of videos on my channel....fun fact...03-05 yz450f is the lightest 450 made to this day at 220lbs....no aluminum frame or any other 450 comes close....also after 05 they de-tuned them n changed the power curvs...my opionion 03-05 is the best and i prefer the 4 speed longer gears n less shifting....i have vids for days....best trail bike too👍

I am a big fan of this bike, I’m not the biggest fan of the 4 speed. When I’m going flat out I always seem to be looking for another gear. In the tighter stuff it’s not bad though, a few mods and it’s proven to do pretty well

Terrible bike the 4 speed is such a burden in the desert it's the slowest 450 ever made it straight out sucks. The 400 and 426 are way more fun to ride or get the 06 and up and you will be ok.

Good bike , do not go for anything older than the 2010 but I recommend the 2014 or newer. Also, if this will be your first bike don't get the 450. It's too much for beginners and won't be near as fun. Even people that have tons of experience don't ride 450 for trail and hard Enduro if they have the choice. Get a 250 or 350 fuel injected 4 stroke . Or a 200-300cc two stroke.

@rickywoods3101
@rickywoods3101 8 ай бұрын
@@leonmolin6414 different geometry, not as well balanced, doesn't corner as good, slightly less power and it's not fuel injected which makes it a lot harder and longer to tune and you have to change jets if you change elevation unlike the fuel injected ones.. you can tune the 2013+ on the fly with a cheap programmer.(Can change and modify maps) You can say having the carb isnt a negative but I'm a mechanic and I disagree. With all that said , it's a good reliable bike and it depends what you plan on doing with it.

Learned on a 110 no clutch, then the same day learned on a 2020 KX450.. Came home, bought a KLX300R... Then a month later bought my first street bike, a Suzuki SV650.. Love both of my bikes ! However, all my friends have 450's... I want one SO bad, but my mechanic said, "put 250 hours in on your KLX300 and THEN we can talk about getting a 450.." I understand what he's trying to do / teach me but, man I'm eager to buy one lol.

listen... I'm 13, I'm tryna get a 2005 yz450f. I want it to be a decent trail bike so I don't stall it a ton. I'm like 5"8 rn. I'm mainly getting it because it's only around 1700 and I live in Massachusetts. my plan is if I can actually learn how to be a able to ride a big bike (I can ride a ton of different 250s just fine I'm just worried about the extra maybe 1inch on the seat bc I'm perfect on the 250s) I'ma keep it for a while, but either way I'ma list it as soon as I get it for around 2100 (bikes completely mint and everything's nice asf idk why it's so cheap) and looking for trades to see if I can get a nice 250

@bikersoncall
@bikersoncall 2 жыл бұрын
@@farhanbhanji3164 I don't think there would be room anywhere for a battery big enough to handle a good fan, I think upgrading the stator would be a great choice. You need a puller and a spanner wrench or means of locking the motor though to do that, a puller works great and they're about $12 US. I don't like using spanner, I have a different bike, but I made a tool to lock up the flywheel, got the stator/flywheel nut off with ease, otherwise it can be very difficult. Impact wrenches are helpful too.

Top racers like Chad Reed stayed away from this bike and stayed with the 250 two stroke until 2006 because it was so bad. The 426 5 speed even the 400 was a way better bike. Trust me buy one of these bikes and you will be sorry unless you are a beginner and have no clue about riding.
