I do a quick video on why I bought the Omega Seamaster 300m professional and how it slots into my collection. I compare the gap which the Omega fills in my watch collection.

Glad you finally saw the light big Mike 😂 I wear my Speedmaster every day and never think about anybody noticing it. The other day I dropped off my wife’s ring at the jewelry store to get cleaned and they had a brand new sub no date that I tried on. I absolutely loved it but knew that I would always worry in the back of my mind. Omega‘s do a great job of flying under the radar, even the ultra expensive ones are only known by other watch enthusiasts not the general public.

Great pick. It's a lovely watch. Me, I've been a Rolex guy for many years (got my first in 2002), but their managed scarcity, hype, and genuine concern to get robbed turned me off the brand. I got myself a 2021 Speedmaster Professional, that I wear mostly on a black tropic style rubber strap, and it's perfect when I go back to Europe. It's a very nice watch that's not excessively expensive, flies under the radar, and easy enough to replace if stolen / lost. Great option to travel with, looks as good with a suit as with a polo shirt.

Hello Michael, my husband is a huge Rolex fan boy, he has 3 generations of the pepsi, couple submariners and a SD43. I bought him the SMP 300 in green for his birthday this year and I can genuinely say it is my favourite over any of the other pieces he wears. When he wears a Rolex and we are out I am anxious. When he has the SMP on, I feel good knowing his arm isn't going to be chopped off. We bought it on the bracelet and the rubber was given for free (£45 for the bloody deployment clasp though) he's never worn it on the bracelet and only the rubber. I can confidently say he is in love with the SMP HOWEVER, the bracelet in his and my opinion is rubbish. I wish they did a better bracelet on this. Sometimes when I am home I will wear the watch and genuinely it's lovely - the HEV dispersers after a few days of wear, congratulations and wear in good health

I’m not familiar with your channel yet but this video just popped up in my feed. I purchased the same exact reference just two weeks ago; with original bracelet and OEM mesh bracelet and will buy the rubber strap when back in stock. So far, I couldn’t be more thrilled with my purchase and the SMP 300 will be my daily. I wore Rolex exclusively since I was 23 years old; roughly 20 years ago. 17 of those years were spent with a Submariner 24/7. I was considering a Panerai Submersible and a SeaQ Panorama Date but my gut told me to go with the Omega I’ve been keeping my eye on for two years, (I actually happen to really like the HEV). By the way, my next and one of two final Rolex purchases will be the SD43 which happens to be my favorite reference; the Explorer II is my second favorite. I’m in no hurry though as I couldn’t be more pleased with this SMP.

Great combo. Now you just need a blue or dark green Aqua Terra to get the trifecta. Just a heads up, they have a newish rubber strap with deployant clasp available for the 300M at boutiques. The silver dial looks terrible on the photos, but when you actually see it in person, it’s a stunner. Photos simply don’t do it justice. Blacks cool. Probably my second favourite. Although i specifically have the grey dial chronograph variant. It’s a beast of a watch. I’ve paired it with the blue rubber, which I had to buy separately as Omega don’t do that combo off the shelf. They really should.

Glad you like the SMP and for lack of a better phhrase you are your own man and purchased what you want. I have reservations about this newer SMP because it just feels to blingy for me. I had the 1994 Bond watch and really liked it but it had some damage on the case that I didn't care for. I have a few other (megas but my favorite is the I believe the 2255.80 which is from the mid 2000s with the 41 mm case, sward hands and a electric blue dial and love it. I wear it on a melenese bracelelet and it does the trick. You may want to try a melenese bracelet which I think is a good option when you may want to dress your SMO alittle. Anyway I really like your channel.

Excellent points on traveling with watches. I travel regularly and I’m constantly looking for the perfect “travel” piece. It needs to be Swiss, water resistant enough, goes under the radar, and pleasing to my eyes. Almost all Rolex and AP pieces are instantly recognizable by most. Certainly not the watches to go incognito with. Seiko and Gschock are good watches, but I can’t bring myself to wear them for too long.

I can definitely relate to the difficulty replacing the submariner if anything happens and wanting something nice on the wrist when traveling. @jimlittle57692 жыл бұрын
I have the new Superocean, the Kelly Slater LE, and as much as I love it, if I had to choose between a Seamaster 300M and the Superocean it's no contest...the Seamaster every time. The new Superocean is a good watch to get if you have a decent size collection already. I don't think it's a good only watch or even a watch for a two-three watch collection. It's roughly the same price as the Seamaster, but the Seamaster is seriously anti-magnetic, and has a much better movement (and it's an inhouse movement). It's just a better watch and considerably so.
@donaldneo43172 жыл бұрын
@@jimlittle5769 I consider myself to have a small but decent collection 😅. 1. GMTc Black 2. Milgauss Z blue 3. Santos L 4. Speedy Pro Both the GMT n Milgauss is on bracelet, Santos and Speedy on leather strap so I am looking for a rubber strap for weekend or travel. I did owned the SMP pre-ceramic before so am leaning towards SO as I have not have a Breitling before. As much as the new SMP is great compared to the old SMP I had, its quite a tad bigger and wears slightly large on my 6.5" wrist. My mind tells me the SMP is technically better and better value but my heart tells me the SO as it is a unique design and wears better especially with the micro adjustment clasp. Thats why I am torn between the 2. Congrats on your Kelly slater edition and thanks for your input so I assume you have the SMP as well?

Bought one of those black dial ones on a Bond bracelet the year they came out (I think it was 2008). It replaced my Seamaster 2254.50, which I sold to a friend. It's a great watch, but after a few years of wearing it every day, and after adding a Railmaster, Planet Ocean, a GMT, and older black dial SMPC, I lost interest in it. Mostly because I like the dial and hands on the other one better. So even though it's an awesome watch and keeps perfect time, I kind of wish I had the old one back. Maybe if it was on a new strap like yours, that would make me wear it more.

Michael, I forgot to ask you. Did you consider the green? All of my watches besides the odd Seiko is a black dial and I'm thinking the green would be a nice alternative in my collection. Love the contrast of the dial with the raise indices. It pops nicely.

I'm just not intrested in playing the AD games and maybe getting the call to buy something I might want. The Speedmaster is probably the dream watch for most watch guys, more so than a Rolex. If someone said to me Rolex was their dream watch I'd honestly thing they where caught up in the hype, unless it was an Explorer 1 or 2. I love the turtle bezel too. Far play to all the guys daily beating their Daytonas. Oh and the difference is yours is the 300m and the other is 300 (vintage styled one).
