I was born in Japan but have lived abroad more than half my life, currently in Singapore for my work. I can only do Japan for a short period at a time - the social expectations always put so much pressure on me making me feel suffocated. It's a beautiful country to visit but not to live. I always miss Singapore when I am elsewhere. There is something very special about this country.

Hi Gibson, what i did was fill a small bottle with thai green & red chilli top it of with soya or fish sauce. Bring another bottle with half sauce than into country transfer chilli bottle of sauce into sauce bottle. Than you have sauce bottle and just chilli bottle. Japan can't bring fresh products. Thats how i get around when i got question. Its hot sauce...😁

I had no idea you liked karintou manjuu! The city I used to live in (in Gunma) also had a delicious karintou manjuu; during the winter season they also offer a chocolate-filled one. See how, maybe next time bring to SG for you XD I also find it really interesting how our experiences are so different - when I returned to Singapore after my first ever trip to Japan, the heat and humidity hit me and I immediately started to cry (couldn't even control myself, it was like a biological reaction) because I missed Japan so much and wanted to be there! Edit: You are right about chili padi being prohibited in Japan! A lot of non-native plants can't be brought in because they may harbour certain parasites and in chili padi's case, it's possible for the chili padi fruit to house some varieties of fly. There's a database you can search, here!: www.pps.go.jp/eximlist/Pages/exp/conditionE.xhtml
