i feel u bro, why make life more harder than u need to? just be practical. In the PI u will make the most of you life with each day counting for something because you are treated more as a human being and thats because in general people there tend to be more respecful, friendly, and open and thats not a dig to other countries. This is the pros of the philippines. There are cons, thats mainly financial but if you have that covered somehow tru a business, or benefits then practically your in a win win situation. You have money and friends, thats goes a loong way and thats hard to beat.

I agree with you 💯. I lived and worked in the Philippines for many years. As a Black man, I was most happiest living overseas because I was better received and accepted. Like a heavy weight no longer on my shoulders with regards abject racism, racial profiling, and many problems inherent being Black in America. It’s just different being overseas. I was accepted for being a person, not a skin color.mI just didn’t feel those things in the PI, Thailand, Panama, Honduras, Ecuador, Greece, Sri Lanka, Iceland, Morocco, Mongolia, and in most of the countries I lived in or visited in Africa. Like you, I love my country, however I am not happy that it is slow or unwilling to change. I am a Veteran of 20 years USAF and was stationed at Clark AB towards the end of the Vietnam War. I had since returned to the PI - as a part of my government job - and taught electronics at Poro Point, San Fernando City, La Union and Tinang, Concepcion Tarlac. You have a beautiful family.

I've been there. It's like black men from the U.S. who have been to the Phillipines share a certain kinship, because we know how pleasant the experience is. It's hard to describe in words how good it feels not to feel the unrelenting pressures of racism. I married a woman from the Phillipines and oh my God. They are awesome companions.

Greece and Iceland are countries mostly white populated. You never experienced any racism from the people there? Where you there while being in the AF? Maybe you were treated a little different because they looked at you as representing the US as a whole a country that is still considered no. 1 . No other countries has 11 or 12 aircraft carriers all active duty. So 20 yrs in the Military got you a 50 per cent retirement but did teaching electronics brought you more income?
@RonsWorld5
@RonsWorld5 4 жыл бұрын
harsep I was Iceland for a year while in the AF. I did not experience racism. Too cold most of the time to interact with the population. Plus, a curfew was imposed on all Americans there to be inside at 11pm. I was in Greece (Athens, Rhodes, Kavala, and Thassos) when I taught electronics as a part of my government job. I was in those places many times. Greece is more diverse than many think. The Milwaukee Bucks all star player Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Black Greek. His mother, father, and brothers are Greek. He is very popular their and they take pride in him. I have live and visited many countries. I experienced racism more in the United States. Teaching electronics overseas was a part of my government job. It was a 5-year project. When it ended, I became and IT Specialist and a Foreign Service Officer. My military career was in Avionics, Electronics Technical Instructor and Course Development. Between my 20 year military career (which assisted in getting a Federal job with regards my qualifications and the 5-point Veteran preference) and my 22 year Federal career in which I am now retired from, my pension is quite significant. The local high school in my city wanted to hire me to teach electronics and be an assistant Varsity Basketball coach. I declined because I did not retire to start working again. No need to. I am retired. If I were to recommend money making career paths to young people, I would recommend IT (Cisco and Microsoft networks and security) and learning to code in Python and PHP). Also, pursue Foreign Service positions, And, DO NOT work for corporations because they hire and fire on a whim, but to get a Government job. They are more secure, high-paying, have more longevity, and great benefits.

I learned that 15 years ago. I lived in DAVAO when they were still kidnapping and I felt more safe there than in Texas. I also learned Filipino are not racist. The racism comes from the west. So yes if you can't accept and live like the locals such as a simple life able to eat even though a cockroach or ants run across the table while you are eating. Don't complain stay in your country because Philippines is more than getting women to me it's about the respect.

On a superficial glance, an alpine meadow seems ideal too. Wait till winter. Way, way more bullshit in the Philippines. Tones of examples of you being a cow that should be milked and sent home to get more when dry. First let me say I loved my time in the Philippines. Thing that suck in the PI. Food safety Air safety Fake medicines fake policemen fake judges and lawyers Fake doctors (the ones in hospitals) fake cement fake rebar All these things are fake sometimes because the government is run on the principal that government servants are for sale to certify anything if they are paid.

Can't wait to move there in two years. You are so right. Always some bullshit here. And you always have to pay bills and expenses all the time because everything is pricey to a point where you struggle to maintain. Money is always number one here and it seems into your relationship and end up breaking what you have. Plus the media is corrupting folks too. It's morally corrupt. This country only has money. You find people here with lots of it but they are the most miserable. Go to places like the Phillipines, they are so happy with having less. Money isn't their number one to survive.

Another small example would be going to some stores, paying with a 1K or a 500Php bill and the vendor saying they don't have change (and make zero effort to get it).. that's not my problem.. ill take my business somewhere else... many more to list. This is my opinion along with other friends who left the Philippines during the late 80s/eariy 90s to finish school, and have returned to take care of business. That said, Philippines is alright...

Hollar bro I’m in NY right now but I was born and raised there in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I can totally relate, I’ve also lived in Manila but im staying in the province now where my wife is when I’m there. The province is definitely a more suitable place for people who are looking for a slower chilled pace. I know it’s not perfect there and poverty is very apparent. But I can personally attest that people are much more happier there and they are more appreciative of what they have. The people are so resilient despite of the personal and natural tragedies that does happened more then one would like. The US is the land of opportunity but I do miss just laying down and enjoying looking at the stars ⭐️ at nigh and actually appreciating it. I think I am well off more than 95% of you and I never ever considered myself more than a local. Even stayed with my good friend as a squatter for 1 month. Loved it.. What you don't get is the hospitality in the 30 countries I been to like the Philippines. Most of you only think of flashing money for sex with the local beautiful women or the bakla. Just so you will know if you have sex with a separated woman you will go to prison. So beware and enjoy what the Philippines has to offer.

@@TheBlackFilipino It's not just about cheap sex, the law prohibits divorce, it is possible to have a marriage cancelled by a process called annulment which is very expensive and most Filipinos can't afford. I watched your video from time to time since 3yrs ago & this afternoon after watching this episode, you made me think about what you said about what's going on here in the States. The people has become more edgy & angry all the time. White people calling 911 for police to come & arrest individual that they don't like because black families were barbecuing at a park. This is just one example of the many Karen's calling 911 to report a colored person or people of color. I will be retiring next year 2021 & I am preparing to move to the Philippines for good. I am Fil-Am from San Francisco Bay area. Few of my friends have already move there years ago. Now, I am looking forward to it.
