Those who are thinking to just buy the iPad and use onenote on that. Remember onenote app on iPad is a lot inferior to onenote on any windows PC. My biggest grips with iPad is that it is very dumb when it comes to detecting the difference between pen input and fingers. Surface devices does this fabulously I don't need to keep changing between pen input and scrolling. Surface does this automatically. Makes the experience a lot smoother.

Hey Abihishek 👋 great to hear your input and feedback that will help others. That's right, I switch between my pen and fingers surfing the web and software and it knows instinctively when I want to scroll and when to input. Very seamless. OneNite and office is definitely more fleshed out as it run s the full package while iPad apps will run software made for that platform very well. Depends on the woder platform what you want to use. Thanms Abhishek, keep being awesome! 1TT

Although this video came out almost a year ago the prices and the spects of these machines are still the same! and I completely agree with you on deciding for the Go 2 over the other Microsoft models! And in other markets such as mine in Mexico City that decision stands much more better than in the USA market, because in Mexico, for example, the Go 2 -128 GB model that you could buy and get in the USA for just $549 US in Mexico that same thing would cost you around $800 US! (even in Best Buy -of Mexico!), and if you liked the Pro 7 model as me with 256 Gb, Core i7 proc. and 12.3 inch. display then it would cost you almost three times that already very high price of those 800 US! for the Go 2!

Hi! I'm a teacher working from home in COVID-19 times. I don't have a primary laptop and I'm in between purchasing the Surface Pro 7 or the Surface Go 2. I was reading the comments on here and I concluded that the Pro 7 is closer to what I would need for web browsing, word documents, writing lesson plans and teaching platforms. However, I went on the microsoft page and read the comments for the reviews on the Pro 7 and didn't read a whole lot of positive experiences. It has 3 stars on an average of 68 reviews. So now I'm back to square 1. Help?

I'll be recording and uploading a video on the new Surface Go 2 announcement and what it means vs the original and surface pro 7 now that it's officially announced. If what you want to do is a described above both the Go and Go 2 will suit your needs just fine. That does depend on what teaching platforms means(online or software based?) If you can make the smaller screen estate of the Go it will work well, but the new Go 2 m3 version will go you much better performance at an added cost. Any particular issues raised from the reviews you read that you were most concerned about? Keep being awesome, 1TT

In multiple aspects such as battery and longevity for basic tasks i can 120 % agree. But... lol after doing about 5 hours of research comparing all processors across the board from go 3 to 7 and 7 plus, mind you i have the surface 7 with the i7 and comparing all the prices available from best buy and amazon for the 7 to go's and 7+, with our needs: the 7+ with the computing power is the same price of the go 3 with a 10th gen I3 processor, while the 7+ has 11th gen and out performs and under several reviews are almost the same in battery performance. All I'm getting at is I see you only compared the 2 but what about the rest and their prices and performance. EDIT LMFAO, ignore my ignorant a$$, i did not realize this was made and posted in 2020, this was a vid i pulled while doing a shit ton of research for a surface for my wife and work lmfao.

No problem and it's good you researched heavily to find what is best for you and your wife 🙌 the Surface Go line was simply if the size and weight were the bigger factor to what you're looking for, then that would be the trade off to getting a Go over a Surface Pro and for some people it would suffice. Said definitely help shape the value for money discussion but when it comes to price and performance the Surface Pro one is far better but the Go can be great as a compact version where you can still nail the basics down. 👌

Hi! For a primary device, and with the Surface Go 2 available in the market, would you recommend a Pro or a Go? For context, I'm a doctor and I will use the device for web research and making presentations (I like opening 15 tabs at the same time); I want to be able to bring it with me during patient rounds (5-7 hrs everyday); I like to do light photo editing every once in a while and the occasional video editing (once a year 😅). So I'm going for the right blend of power and portability. The battery is a big issue for me too. As I'll be working 24 to 48-hr shifts, I need something that can last for at least 8 or 10 hrs before I need to charge it. This will be my primary device. My secondary device will have to be my phone. I want to be thrifty and I like my devices to be multifunctional. My main issue with the Pro is would it be too heavy? On the other hand, would the Go be too powerless(?) for my workload? I heard a lot of bad reviews on the battery of both Pro 7 and Go though. So now I'm just confused. 😅
@OneTechTraveller
@OneTechTraveller 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Elaine 👋 thanks for stopping by and reaching out appreciate the time and hearing from you! Sounds like quite a dilemma for you but hope my humble opinion can help - considering your context for professional use as a primary machine and essential productivity work, I would suggest the Surface Pro 7 over the Go series. It's heavier and bigger than a Go 2 but by far still one of the most compact PCs you'll find so it won't be an issue. The larger screen estate will help and it'll weigh less than 1kg including the keyboard. There no getting around the battery life, but the Pro gives you far more consistent performance suited to your workflow and I would suggest a quality USB C and high performance powerbank so you can have it charged leaving the main charger in your office or at home and the Perham in your bag when on the move. Keeps you away from the wall sockets without worry either. The i5 entry model of the Pro 7 is definitely sufficient for your work and future proof for many years so that's what I think. Let me know if you have anymore questions but hope it helps you in your journey finding the right machine for you! Thanks again and keep being awesome Elaine! 1TT

So you never mention what version Go you're comparing. I have the Go 3 with 8GB of RAM. Really like it. But be aware, with Windows 11, I had a HORRIBLE issue with the tablet's speakers cracking while playing music, especially re: treble, at ANY volume level. It was so bad, was considering returning it. Took a while to figure out how to download new drivers from the Realtek site itself as the Go said drivers were "up to date." Uh, no. After that update, it went away. Apparently that's a prevalent issue with the Go and Windows 11. I added stereo Bluetooth travel speakers (cheap clearance Onn rechargeable speakers, currently $12 each at Walmart), and the bass is pretty darn good, treble very good, and the noise amplification is AMAZING compared to the stock tiny speakers...and it's in stereo as well.

Hi!! I'm not sure wether i should purchase the surface pro or go . I would mainly use it to take notes with the pen and occasionally make presentations or wrote assignments, but the main focus relays on taki8ng notes!! Oh and I know there is also the surface pro 6 OR 7 pro and the go and go 2 I'm so confused I really dont know which to choose Thank you for your help😊
@OneTechTraveller
@OneTechTraveller 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Scherien 👋 yes indeed it can be very confusing so hopefully I can help clean the confusion up a little! Are you using it just for personal or also in education or for work stuff? The pen isn't included in either models so you'll want to factor that in your pricing. I'll be uploading my surface go review soon but if price isnt an issue the Go 2 Core m3 is a solid purchase. Pro 6 or Pro 7 if you find a good deal with the larger screen and better performance. The Go is really if you want that smaller size to take with you as it's noticeably smaller than the Pro series which I like. Otherwise for performance and better resolution the Pro offers that for the money. I do note taking with Go Gen 1 and it is very nice, smooth even on the 4GB RAM model so you definitely can, it just suffers if you do fast pen strokes as there is a delay which is down to the processor and basic graphics. If thats no problem for you and you find the Go V1 at a good price, that will also work for you. If you give more context I can help further otherwise this is just my thoughts! Keep being awesome Scherien, 1TT

All the points you make echo's my feelings about it too. The Go is so small, that I will use for my short-EU city trips (2-3 days away) where it doesn't make sense to carry the book. Hell even for my "Daily carry" it even fits in my 5L peak design sling. So that is very impressive haivng a full windows device in something so portable.

Do you know app in ms store that has same capability? I dont think one note matches notability because one note cant record audio and take note at the same time. Lemme know what you think. Actually, the OneNote for Windows 10 app is differenr to the iPad app. It can record audio while allowing you to take notes at the same time. Your handwriting even syncs up to the audio, although a box just pops up on top of the corresponding handwriting, but its still a good feature. The Windows 10 app of OneNote also (I think) has more options for the rule lines. Both the horizontal lines and grid lines have four size options which is great. GOOD TIP: With the Surface Pen, you don't have to go to the Draw tab in OneNote to start writing or drawing. I hope this comment helps. :)
