I’m taking delivery of a NX5010 next week and after watching your post, I might add the hydraulic top link. I also have a Kubota M5140 that’s turning pink in its old age. It’s going to be interesting to compare the two. Thanks for your introduction. Good info

I've tested a few tractors and the Kioti NX4510 is one of the best tractors I tried at that power range. It is a bit bigger and heavier then a DK. It rides better then a CK and has decent power to weight ratio. It's definitely one of the best tractors in that size and cost.

This was awesome. Thank you. I just looked at a Kubota mx5400 today and a JD 4044m. Both quoted 30k+ even before I wanted to add rear remotes and a 3rd function. Being I have just about every brand dealer within an hour of my 42 acres it's been really tough to figure out what will work but I will be doing many of the same types of projects i think so this looks like it might be my go to. Thanks again.
@cmvalentino4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful. I'm not a fanboy & shopped all the brands with local dealers. In a nutshell, about same capability as a Kubota MX4800 and fairly close in price to that machine, but with all the extra features you'd get with a Grand L where the MX is a workhorse and doesn't include the extra upgrades. Not knocking Kubota or the MX - they're great, just feel like I got more for my money. Kubota loader is faster and smoother, especially when doing curl & raise at same time. Mine is a little stronger but Kubota really gets their loaders right and no one else is as good. Granted 45HP is overkill for most of what I do, but this machine is strong. Even with filled tires and a 6' box blade on the back, I'll get the rear wheels off the ground before I run out of loader lift strength. I can bush hog waist high weeds/grass in M full speed & no lack of PTO HP to do it. With teeth fully down on 72" box blade, it will literally shear a tooth before it anchors the tractor if I get hung up on a good enough rock or something & that's with R4 tires. Big enough rock and catch more than 1 ripper will anchor it, but in general it will PULL. It has the annoying habit of starting regen as soon as I pull up to fuel pump :) but otherwise I have no complaints about the T4 emission stuff. It pretty much does regen in the background and other than smell, might not even notice it's doing it. Like if you're bush hogging or tilling so engine speed is enough for 540 RPM @ PTO, if you don't see the light is on or smell the burn off, you won't realize you're in regen. Does it about every 35-40 hrs. Lastly, service was pretty easy and did it all myself. Finding some of the filters vs paying dealer price was probably hardest part...that & the big HST filter is installed by an 800lb gorilla and crazy tight, but simple enough to work on yourself overall.

What tractor did you end up getting?
@BA-nz5io2 жыл бұрын
@@Joeman57 I actually ended up with the Kioti DK4710 Hst with a cab. Haven't looked back. It's done everything I've asked of it with no issues with the tractor itself. Had a couple minor issues with attachments (orings going bad) but that's it. I also found a really great dealer and that's been the best part for when I have had issues, the owner has always answered even when I've called on weekends. Find a good dealer and work a deal that makes sense for you. Mine was running a tractor and loader +trailer +5 attachment deal when I bought it. Got ballast filled tires, 3rd function valve and hookups (MUST HAVE), grapple, box blade, and bad boy rotary cutter. Traded the trailer for the cab since I use the cab everytime vs I still would not have used the trailer once in 2 years. Dealer now offers that trade up front when he runs the specials. I use the grapple more than anything. Got all those thing for around 42k. Which again, a Kubota or JD with all that would've been well above 60k

Question on the 3pt hitch end, does it have the ability to put downforce on the implement? = Some need the weight of the implement to provide the downforce. Those twin cylinders seem stout but cant tell if they are lift only or if they can push down or lock into a fixed depth. Thanks in advance

How has Reedy Creek been for service i am looking at getting a ns model kioti from them. How has the tractor held up for you over time
@cmvalentino2 жыл бұрын
They're pretty good dealer over all but haven't really needed them for service. Had to have them order me parts for things I broke due to operator error - like bush hog tailwheel fork because I didn't setup bush hog correctly and mangled it. I did 50 hr service myself so haven't really needed their service dept for anything other than ordering a part here & there. THE only issue I've had with the tractor as far as something breaking is the mirror mounts. They're welded onto very thin walled steel tube by the foot guards on each side. If you adjust the mirror with enough tension it isn't always working loose & moving, it can easily be too tight & not swing out of the way when you get too close to brush or pines or whatever. That was my case & ended up breaking the welds on both sides. My fault or the tractor's fault? probably some of both, but the mirror mounts are a weak point for sure

Does the kioti hst reaction dial actually change the depth of engagement for the HST pedal on the new models or only how quick it moved thru the range once engaged? I understand they went to a solenoid HST in the last year or two and the pedal has a totally different feel from direct link HST pedals. The local dealer here had no clue other than saying all tractors were like that which its not. There was no engagement, forward or reverse, until at least 1/3rd of the pedal was depressed. Does this dial change that so its changes the take-up slop before engagement? Cant find any video or specifics other than mention of the dial but would like to see detailed info on it.
@cmvalentino3 жыл бұрын
No, there is a separate pedal adjust procedure in the manual (or maybe the service manual) to do what you are talking about. That dial adjusts how "soft" the HST takes off and stops. i.e. if you let off the forward pedal it can coast to a stop (extreme one way) or almost jerk to a stop (extreme other way). The pedals feel the same as far as foot pressure and engagement point, it's just how does the transmission response behave - fast, slow, in between

@cmvalentino3 жыл бұрын
@@yellowmetaldriver1460 yep, it has been a good machine. No videos of the loader. The specs are pretty much spot on. With loaded rears and a 6' box blade it will still raise the rear tires. Very strong. I can lift an IBC tote with 300gal of water on pallet forks. Not to full height, but can lift and move it around. Consider how far out in front of pins that is and that shows the loader is no joke. It is not as smooth as a Kubota loader but close. It won't raise and uncurl like a Kubota. It does the motion but 2 movements at once like that slows it way down. Compared to Kubota of same size lifts higher, lifts more weight, but Kubota is a good 10% smoother.

Why did you decide against the shuttle shift transmission?
@cmvalentino3 жыл бұрын
HST is just insanely simple :) I do mostly loader work so that's forward into pile, back out, move, position, dump, back away, back to pile, repeat. That and bush hogging are 95% of my work My land has a lot of rough spots so I vary speed constantly when bush hogging. So HST is just simpler and most efficient. Plus Mrs CMV can just jump on & go because minus the loader & 3-pt controls it's almost as simple as a basic riding mower to operate - at least just to move it from point A to B is that simple. I'm not sure, but I don't think this even comes with anything other than HST. DK and CK do, but not sure how no-stall. PTO cruise, linked pedals, etc would work without HST? Dunno, this is only one dealer had at time so I had nothing to compare to.

Looks like an awesome tractor but if you really liked the LS why didn't you upgrade to another LS? Just curious.
@cmvalentino6 жыл бұрын
I need the loader to go as high as possible for the berms I build & maintain. LS has really strong loaders, but they don't go very high. Not a problem for most people, but dump clearance was a real important spec for me. Something like an LS XR4046, its loader goes to max height of 96" and has dump clearance of 66". Mine goes to 108" height & dump clearance of 83". I would have had to gone up to an XU model LS to get same dump clearance & those start at 55HP.

@cmvalentino5 жыл бұрын
That 2nd rear remote isn't cheap so that's a good chunk of the extra $3k. And there needs to be some price separation because they are the same thing. Exactly same - engine is tuned differently for the HP difference. Yes, I looked at LS first because that's what my small 25HP was and I liked it. LS loader didn't have high enough dump clearance for me. But nice machine. If you don't want all the NX extras, look at DK in 50HP range. Oh...at some point...either 55 or 65 HP the NX moves to a CAT II 3pt hitch. If the 5510 does, that's something more too.

I'm just asking OK. No need to get upset. Wondering why you didn't think about a 4 in 1 bucket. If you don't pick up anything to big, like about a quart size log not much over 6 to 10 footlong you can take the 4 in 1 bucket and bite it up and you don't have to chase it all over the place trying to pick it up or put a chain around it if you don't get much over a gallon-size log & not much over 10 ft long you can bite it up very easily and and walk it over somewhere to the side. It keeps you, if you are by yourself from having to jump on and off the tractor so much. And I'm just asking. little on the Curious side but this is just me I would have got one with a 4 in 1 bucket but that's like I say that's me and also I've operated heavy equipment all my life for a little over 40 years so it would just make it a little easier for me . I do a lot of stuff by myself. Any way good vid, enjoy your new ride. 😊👍
@cmvalentino6 жыл бұрын
I switch frequently between pallet forks and the standard front bucket - sometimes a rock bucket too. No idea if you can still do that as easily with a 4-in-1. Other big reason is tractor came standard with the 72" bucket and only one remote which I wanted to use for hydraulic top link. So would have been additional expense adding 3rd function and then the 4-in-1 bucket itself. Would definitely be useful at times

Still better and more convenient than renting a full size construction backhoe for $1,000s a couple times a year. What I do or don't spend MY money on effects you 0, so no idea why you feel need to criticize my decision to get a machine sized to the task I need vs having money in a smaller one AND continuing to pay rentals. That would be wasteful.
