Yes ma’am! Everything you said was exactly how I felt when choosing LPN first. I just graduated on the 7th and now just waiting to take NCLEX-PN. I’ll be going back for transition to ADN next fall. I wouldn’t change my route for anything! It worked for ME. Now I can stack and gain experience for a few months until I go back to school 🥳

I’m going the LPN route because I am mother of 3 and I cannot afford NOT to work. Going for my RN will take up too much time and I need a faster way. Then I will bridge over to RN once I get my foot in the door.

Thank you so so much for sharing this hun! I’ve been seriously contemplating whether to do LPN or RN route. So, after researching and talking with fellow girlfriends who have been through various nursing programs and in the medical field, I’ve decided that the LPN program would be a great first step for me. I plan to take the entrance exam sometime next year once examination resume in Jan 2024. And yes, it is your life and we know ourselves best! I’m definitely at a stage in life where I cannot mentally stay in something too long, so these steps would be beneficial to me AND I can focus on each task. I hope to eventually become a RN one day, but for now this is and will be my journey. I appreciate you sharing this! It was incredibly helpful and encouraging. Take care boo!! 🩵🩵🩵

In my experience, (I work in PA/NJ) a agency or travel, LPN makes more than an RN spends less time in school and pays way less to get their education, so why would I pay more money to make less money? I’m not someone who wants an administrative position, so I don’t really feel the need to get my RN. and if you’re someone who really enjoys long-term care or psychiatrics, most of the nurses, I’ve seen were LPNs anyways. As someone who is 21 years old on their own, there’s no way I would’ve financially been able to go to school for the amount of time it took to get an RN anyway.

I can't afford to work less and go back to school full time yet alone 2 years no.. It's just me. Compared to other women on KZbin who are married and have a man taking care of them kudos to you okay. Thank you young lady for this video. I may be an outlier here in the comment section but I will be pursuing a LPN rather than RN due to this being a career change for me. I'm in my mid 40s and have successfully single handedly raised 2 twins who are now both in college. The goal is to transition into the healthcare sector and ultimately use my work and educational background in combination with LPN/nursing to pursue later on leadership administrative role. I do not want to start off seeking the RN due to already having degrees and not wanting to be pigeon hole myself or worse unable to land employment because of the competitiveness of RNs with experience. I've come to assess from research that the LPN route can provide a foundation for not just valuable work experience but income much sooner, lesser debt, less time commitment with school and more insight of whether the RN is necessary. Also, there may be a LPN opportunity with an employer willing to invest or provide tuition support to its employees which will be the incentive for me to further education and invest the time to obtain RN. To sum it up this will be the field that I can see myself retiring from on the administrative side of LPN after having put the hands on work in. All the best to you and others with choosing the LPN in confidence.

Would you recommend lpn to someone who did their prerequisites for an rn program? I ask because I’m debating on getting an absn (that is expensive 😭) or go the lpn route. I would suggest the RN program since you already did your prerequisites. That mean you’ll have about a year or so left to get your ADN right? If that route doesn’t work out, you should def get into a LPN program. I was going to do Lpn to BSN route but that 3 years & almost 100K, nope 😂

@@keenabeenaaa Yes I would only have one year to do my adn. That's what I'm thinking, to just do my asn and then have my hospital pay for my bsn. Honestly just wouldn't make too much sense to go for a lpn if I already did my prereqs. I'm leaning towards keiser, it's expensive but at least I know I'll get accepted.

@@keenabeenaaa Actually since your an Lpn you could do the bridge program in Miami Dade. It would only take a year to do your rn.

Even after the Lpn and you Go for RN associates but then afterwards you’d have to get your bachelors right? Curious. Because In Miami Fl they prefer Rn/ Cna/ medical assistant

Hey, I think some places may require to get a BSN, they usually help pay for you to get the BSN, but most places don’t require the BSN anymore.

I’m considering LPN school vs ABSN. The ABSN Program is 15 months but the cost is like 60k. LPN….then LPN to RN…then RN to BSN will take like 3 yrs, but the cost is like 28k 😂 thats a big difference. Do you feel like LPN is hard as well?

Lol girl that’s why I’m doing the LPN to RN first because the LPN to BSN was almost 100k lol. I’m gooood 😂 but yess, the LPN is hard, but it’s worth it.
