One of the best decision in my career - studying at Syracuse. It has the perfect blend of study and fun ranging from amazing architectural buildings, super nice professors, awesome staffs, decent food options and fun house parties. I did my masters in Computer Science here and got great in-depth knowledge about my area of interest - Software Applications. Also I made really good friends whom I am still touch with and often hangout with them during weekends ( even after 3-4 years ).

I just applied and cuse is my absolute dream school. It’s really helpful that you came from CA when watching ur videos bc I’m also coming from LA, so I’m really nervous about such a dramatic shift and distance from my family and everyone I know.

Aw yay I’m so happy that you love it! I definitely thought that it would be difficult adjusting to being so far away, but honestly it’s not as bad as you think. The first few weeks are so busy that you don’t even have time to think about being homesick or anything, and then by that point you’re settled in! Also just remember that everyone at home is always just a FaceTime/text away, and you can still contact them whenever you need. I know it’s a 3 hour time difference but once you figure out everyone’s schedules it’s super easy!

Also, this video is so helpful to me so thank you! I’m from Long Island, New York and I currently go to FIT but I want to transfer because like a lot of your friends mentioned, I do want that traditional college feel and I want to be around more diverse mindsets and people. At my school, everything is all art which sounds great for an art student but personally, it’s not anything new to me and I would prefer to know people from other walks of life besides designers, artists, photographers, etc. my major is also a lot more business oriented than I thought which I hate so I just feel like I want to transfer schools. I love the vibe of this school and they’re art programs don’t look all that shabby so I’m going to get an aas degree in design at the end of next spring and then transfer here once sophomore ends if everything works out! I’m just really nervous to transfer because I don’t want to not be able to make friends and stuff because I’m not a freshman yk? Do you have any advice about that? I want to get involved on campus so hopefully me being a sophomore transfer won’t hurt anything
@PeytonBeck5 жыл бұрын
hey! I totally understand where you're coming from regarding wanting to branch out and not be at a school which is solely for art. One of my friends is a ceramics major at Syracuse and she loves the art program, so I can assure you it's good! I honestly would not worry at all about making friends and the transferring process as a whole. I know that a lot of the art majors and classes within those majors are pretty small and people get to know each other really well and make friends that way. There's also a ton of clubs both having to do with art and not having to do with art that you can join! Also, depending on your interests, i know a lot of people who work on designing/editing various on-campus magazines. You could also join a sorority (but you don't have to). Overall, everyone I have met has been great and so accepting to new people. I know several people who have transferred to Syracuse and they seem to be having an amazing time! Hope this helped and good luck!

Hi! I was just accepted to cuse and I really want to go, but i wasn’t accepted into my major. Will they let me request a transfer before I’m admitted?
@PeytonBeck5 жыл бұрын
If you want to go here, I would suggest just coming in with the major you were accepted with and then talking to your advisor once you're here! You can also call the school's advising department and ask what they suggest! Hope it all works out !!

Hi, I know this is an older video but I’m hoping you will answer my question! Do you think spending all the money to go to a college like Syracuse is worth it? I haven’t gotten accepted yet but I’m hoping to soon; I think my academics and activities and a good level to get into Newhouse. I’m worried about getting enough money to come and I know I would have to take out loans. I really liked my visit, but have you met anyone who regrets having to spend so much money for the school? Hopefully you see my comment and answer haha, thanks for posting all these videos too. Very helpful :)
@PeytonBeck5 жыл бұрын
hi! I totally understand your concerns and they're completely valid. I think that Syracuse is 100% worth it. I have met a lot of people during my time here and not a single one of them has said that they regret going to school here. I know it is a ton of money but I think that it's worth it because the school (especially newhouse) provides such a good education. I'm in newhouse now and I feel confident that I'm going to be successful after graduation! The professors really care about the students and the program is so so good if you're looking for a job in communications. Syracuse also offers a ton of merit based scholarships and financial aid! I don't know a single person who is paying the full tuition amount! I hope this helps and good luck !! :)

Hi! I'm currently going through the application process and Syracuse is one of my top choices and I'm struggling with the decision of whether I should ED or not. I want to major in biology and go pre-med just like your friend Angelica and I was wondering if she applied to Syracuse early decision and what made her decide that Syracuse would be the best school to pursue a career in medicine. Thank you!!
@maggiemajeski82565 жыл бұрын
Sloane Ward Hi! Syracuse is my top choice as well, and I am definitely having the same struggles of deciding if I should ED or not. If you want to talk I would definitely love to!
@PeytonBeck5 жыл бұрын
I would say if it's still an option definitely do ED! It gives you a higher chance of getting in and its honestly a huge relief to know where you're going sooner than later. Angelica didn't apply ED, but this was her top choice. She chose it because there's really good research facilities/opportunities here!
@PeytonBeck5 жыл бұрын
@@maggiemajeski8256 I'd say definitely go ED if you really like syracuse!

I’m really interested in this school since they have an art education program and that traditional college feel I’m looking for. But do you think jts weird to transfer there after sophomore year? I go to a college in nyc and want to finish up this fall and spring semester to get a two year degree but would it be like weird coming into Syracuse after sophomore year?

How did you manage to move all the way from California? Was it tough to take all your belongings? I live in California and moving so far seems so hectic and crazy.
@PeytonBeck4 жыл бұрын
It was tough getting everything there originally. I would suggest shipping whatever you need and then buying the rest of it once you're at school. Then at the end of the year you can sign up for service that stores everything you don't want to bring home (I use lazybones) so it's easy to access at the beginning of the next school year!

I was looking for a bigger school that also had a lot of school spirit. I also really liked the Newhouse school at Syracuse. Also, I wasn't particularly looking for schools in NY, it just happened to be that Syracuse fit all of the things I wanted in a college!

Hi, if you don't mind can I know how much you pay? Also how much scholarship did you receive. I am just trying to compute my tuition fees.
@PeytonBeck4 жыл бұрын
I pay around $45,000 per year. The tuition with no scholarships or financial aid is $69,000 but I have a merit based scholarship which gives me $24,000 off per year. There's definitely people who pay less than this because they get financial aid so it's possible to get the price wayyyy lower!
@mrodriguez11734 жыл бұрын
i’m poor so if i go id probably pay a little under $7,000
