You can leave AWD always on, the special and adavanced special gearboxes don't have AWD penalty

Really?? I can't believe I never noticed that before. Now you got me curious. I've spent a lot of time studying gearboxes in the game code and I didn't see that. Although that was awhile back and I don't always remember everything I used to know. 😅 Thanks for pointing that out, good tip! 👍

Great vid as always. So fun to see the different routes other people take - I had no idea about the concrete slab river crossing around 07:20!

The middle river crossing is really helpful, I use it more than any other route. Just be careful for the ice

The big cat is great for logs and rescues. It never gets enough love lol. Great video.

I agree it gets slept on a lot. It really does good in Imandra, it's my go-to logger and yes, a great backup Rescue truck to have out. Good to hear from you again! 👍

3:37 Dosent the Advanced Special Gearbox negate that extra AWD fuel consumption? I thought that was the main reson why ppl used it in the first place.

Yes you are correct. I have addressed my statement in later videos about the AWD consumption with Special gearboxes. Sometimes I get things wrong but am always willing to admit it when I realize it. 👍

A very good truck, almost unstoppable and difficult to tip over. I think if he had a platform for other cargo and a trailer hitch, it would be overpowered

I agree, I think it would be overpowered. Nice to have around when you have a difficult logging mission to conquer. 👍

Since I'm trying to play region specific trucks and feeling brave, I opted to use the Azov Antarctic here instead of the CAT. It was my first time using the truck and I'd heard a lot about it, but it actually performed solidly for me. I followed your route, with the only deviation being where you hopped across the big rock - I went through the ice instead, I think wisely! I definitely had to take it slower and therefore used more fuel, bit still made it just fine. Felt like a proper Kola expedition! Thanks so much for the videos!

Yes! The Antarctic does very well in this map. Would be nice if it had a medium logging addon but it still does the job with a trailer. I rather enjoy using it here for long logs since it has the massive tires of the big cat and the weight of the logs make it quite stable to use. Good work ✅

@zorshix Pulling the logs on the trailer instead of having them on the axles via an addon slowed it down a bit, as it couldn't seem to reach higher gears on auto. However, I wanted to take it slow anyway so I didn't mind! You've said it before, but something I love about the game is that with the tools and sandbox there are so many viable options to give us variety.

Great video, as always. The CAT is great; the only reason I did not use it here on Imandra is that I am too cheap to pay the 3500 to bring it over from Taymyr.

Nothing wrong with that. When you're playing hard mode it definitely introduces more complexity into your decisions. At least you got it done that's all that matters.

It's really a good truck. I just wish they'd make it capable of attaching to trailers, so we could transport more logs at once.

Agree, this would be a great truck to use with the new Logging trailers from season 14.

@zorshix do you think devs did it on purpose, to, like, prevent Cat of being a little OP or even to assure players would always try different trucks? I had to transport some medium logs to a sawmill so I could create wooden planks, and I didn't even remembered my Cat on my garage; instead, I used a White Western Star with medium logs trailer so I could transport two cargo. If Cat had that trailer too, it would be my n° 1 choice.

@TawJev yeah I think they did it on purpose. They usually balance most trucks that are OP with some type of deficiency.
