Love this lens . . . more versatile than most people give it credit for. Little tip to make it even better . . . ditch the stock lens foot and purchase the 'Really Right Stuff' lens foot, then pick up a Magpul MS4 Camera / Rifle sling. It makes the user experience of toting this lens around soooo much better, and it's quick, easy, and super convenient . . . plus it's VERY secure. Money well spent.

Another great video, and some very nice shots you got there! 🙂 I ended up with the Sigma 100-400, I’ve been happy with it. I’m really hoping that Sony follows Canon’s example and makes a nice 100-500 at some point.

I got mine for 1600 used, with my 24-105, this was a fantastic choice. It’s the perfect lens for sports videography and photography

It's a great lens. I bought the Sigma 100-400 to try and save money but was a little disappointed with it - I upgraded to this and was a great choice!

Thank you for the video. Did you think about the sony 200-600 mm or the sigma 60-600 mm before buying the 100-400 mm. If yes, why did you choose the 100-400 mm?
@hannahrheaumeАй бұрын
I did! And I’ve since purchased the 200-600 - I’ll be creating a video about that soon 😌

hi i Hannah i have a question: Can I record a short film with actors and traditional shots such as the entire spectrum of field of view given by: the 24-70 mm (also 35mm; 50mm)? I am an actor and I have to film myself for a portfolio to present and I am new to everything that concerns recording. More precisely I understood that I can record portraits of animals that are at quite far distance from me, but is the opposite possible? That is to say can I record facial features of an actor who is 30 cm, 60 cm or 90 cm from my lens or does my actor have to be as far away as the animals you filmed (photographed) in your video?? Thank you for your time and thank you for the video.

When you use a teleconverter how high do you go with the ISO?
@hannahrheaumeАй бұрын
With or without tc I usually don't go above 3200. But I will say, in low light with the tc the image falls apart, not as bad with the 1/4 but definitely with the 2x.

Not looked at a Tamron 50-400 or a Sigma 100-400mm? I'm just joking...I'm looking for a used one...nice video Hannah thanks

Walking in your neighborhood to get wildlife? Where do you live that you can step out of your house and immediately start shooting wildlife? I only see squirrels and bunnies in my neighborhood and I am so bored of them that I don't want to even look at them, let alone shoot them. Great video. I am thinking about getting it. I got 200-600 and it was just so big and heavy that I just didn't want to carry it with me. This lens might be the trick. Also, for whatever reason this lens is not as cool anymore in 2024, so used prices on this are very reasonable.

I live in Washington state, we have coyotes, bobcats, deer, rabbits, eagles, squirrels.. I feel very lucky! I'm glad prices are reasonable on the 1-4. I have also purchased the 200-600 since this video and agree - it's quite heavy but the extra 200mm sometimes is a game changer!
