I'm very interested in surgery, but not going ahead with it because, I have focal dystonia, by thenar muscles get contracted involuntarily and quickly fatigue within 10-20 seconds when I perform a skilled task, so much that it started after 1st year, and every proff was a struggle for me just to write and complete the paper on time, even though I love the branch so much, due to my limitation can't opt for it , so im very clear for non surgical, although I love medicine a lot, but surgery will always be something that was a path not taken for me

Hi dear, I would really not recommend to start MBBS at this age. I mean you can obviously do that but it's not worth it considering increasing competition, long journey and your family responsibilities. Better to find out how you can do the best in your field with the same efforts and energy.

Neurosurgery is a highly saturated branch, initially pays you less salary, need much more years to settle, only able to work in corporate setup, night calls and emergency, more helmets less traumatic brain injury, challenge due to interventional neuro radiology. In future just like cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery would become outdated with interventions
