WHY I DEACTIVATED MY ETSY LISTING!!

Quick update on why I deactivated 2 of my Etsy listings, and how I plan to reactivate.

July 1, ground advantage and priority postage went up. July 5, media mail will increase too. I never rely on etsy to advise me on shipping. They always tell me I'm charging too much, when half the time I'm not charging enough. If I do overcharge I can always refund the difference. My customers are fine with that. Get a good scale and always remember to round up, allowing for tape and such. You have a good assortment of things there. I used to use those long top clips on legal files back in my working days. @@CraftedByChristyShop I do use etsy but I don't use their calculated shipping I put in my own information. I have 2 etsy stores and 1 ebay store so I'm shipping all the time. Print all my labels from home. I can pretty much estimate my packages now. Most everything I send are packages and media mail.

we use pirate ship and no issue they even emailed me that the prices were going up. still cheaper than using the post office and etsy/ebay.

I'm a new subscriber... today! I use Shippo for shipping. I got an email that said shipping prices were going up. 99% of my shipping is in a 6x9 bubble envelope. I tested by sending one by shippo and the other I walked into post office. Same weight. It was $1.38 more to ship. They both went to same state. I was also told that when I drop off my package at the window and it has a shippo label on it, they do not send it thru the machine.

@2sistersjunkjournals Question - do you have an Etsy shop, or do you have your own online shop? I'm asking because I'm understanding, if I don't ship through Etsy, and my customers have a problem, they won't help me, or refund. Do you know if this is correct? I'm sorry to bother you. @@CraftedByChristyShop I have never had to refund except for shipping. You don't need anyone's help for that. I have a shop. I ship thru Shippo and always give them a tracking number.

This was extremely helpful! I mailed a very thin journal (handmade) to a friend, and it really wasn't bulky, but she had to pay extra postage due...for reasons unknown. I still haven't figured that one out. That being said, thank you for the great information! ❤❤❤

We've been shipping via numerous companies for apx 30 years. Prices are insane and every time prices go higher, it means less items are worth listing & shipping. Your time is worth something.

@azsunburns I know right! I just feel so bad, because I've started to purchase things before, and the shipping was more than the product, so I didn't buy. I was really trying to make it so my customers didn't have to worry about that. Thank you for your input, and for watching. 😊
