Do you work from models to make these studies? Do you work on several different ones at a time or do you stick with one idea until the final painting is complete?

Are these also done in oil? Or do you use something like gouache or acrylic? Seems some artists who work in oil do a color study in gouache first since it dries faster. Thoughts?

They are all done in oil. I like to do the studies the same way I'm going to do the larger works.
