I've never had a problem with my Gate Titan that was the Titans direct fault. The only time I had a problem was because my dumbass thought it was a good idea to try and override the heat shutdown function of the Titan. I was really scared going into this because I just bought a Gate Titan to fix a colossal mistake of mine (I bought a Lancer Tactical w/their fet/ETU system and the ETU's gear switch went out) but it sounds like the fact I know how to take the gun apart, maintain it, and follow basic tutorials is enough to offset the risks. (a clean sensor is a happy sensor after all) (and yes I am dropping a $140 Titan into a $200 Lancer Tactical, that's another story I'd be happy to tell, but suffice it to say there's at least some warped logic behind it)

I've been converting a Cybergun Sportline 12" M4 into a full metal, fully upgraded monster. U30000 motor, M120 spring, bunch of MAXX internals and hop-up, and will be getting a Lambda "One" barrel soon. It came with a reinforced metal gearbox, metal gears (18:1 but may change to 13:1), and a micro switch mosfet trigger. Sitting at 400fps and 27rps with .30s. I know I could have spent less money by just buying a Krytac or something... but I've learned a lot on something cheap and all my upgrades can be put in a new gearbox if I fuck this one up too much. Long story short: No judgement here.

One might argue that the GATE Titan also relies on the job you’ve done. Not on the solder job, but on the shimming, lubrication, etc. overall neatness helps too. As for the sticker... One could use a selector plate with a brass clip on it and disregard the sticker. Worst case, you can calibrate the selector switch through the GCS on your computer. Is water an issue? Yes, I wouldn’t use it in the rain. Is light an issue? Yes, but I found this only to disrupt the gun from firing if direct sunlight gets into the trigger hole. This could be resolved with tape, or a small piece of rubber that can be wedged into the receiver, etc. The benefits of the Titan definitely outweigh the potential issues that are mostly user error. So it’s worth it if you want cycle completion, precocking, fixed semi, and hair trigger on the fly. All those features are easily reversible through a Titan as well, unlike if one were to achieve these features mechanically. Love your content dude, keep it up!

When you have precocking on, how do you decompress the drive train for storage to preserve the spring? Other than taking apart the motor grip and pulling the ARL?
@DZhang-cu2hs4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about warfet since I've never touched them. For Titan, all you have to do is to turn off the pre cock, connect your battery, and pull the trigger to let it cycle. After you've fired the gun, pre cock won't engage and spring will be decompressed. I think warfet will do the same.
@NegativeAirsoftTech4 жыл бұрын
You either pull the trigger on full/burst or as D said, take 10 seconds to plug in the card, the pre-cock settings are first on the list so you just plug in & press left arrow twice, unplug the card & pull the trigger.

Shoopy98 titan has an option i think or you can make a tiny hole on the grip
@fullplasticjacket91824 жыл бұрын
@@NegativeAirsoftTech On a Titan (and I think the Aster) you can pull the trigger in Semi, keep it held and then flick the fire selector to safe and it will disable precocking. If you put it to semi then it's Smart Precock and Full Auto is Auto Precock. I've had my Titan for about 5 months and never had a problem with it, but I fitted it and I know how it works. Like you said god help someone who has no clue how it works. One of the biggest problems is that the documentation of the features is really poor which means there is so much trial and error as to what a lot of the settings do and this will get even more complicated with the new Expert firmware which I have on mine. The new versions also alow you to have different settings profiles which again are selectable from the fire selector. This is great until some dickhead decides that they can have a DMR which at the flick of a switch can be unlocked from semi only to full auto. Lovely.......

For milsim’s here in Canada, I definitely prefer something reliable! I’ve seen optical triggers fail for numerous reasons and in perfectly sunny day conditions and would not want to have to walk the almost 1.5km stretch through the bush back to the car just to grab my backup rifle. For indoor games where there’s usually a tech bench provided then stepping out for a game to fix your gun is feasible. God help you, if you buy a gun, titan, pay for a tech to install, and can’t afford a back up rifle. Well said @Negative airsoft

LOL...I've installed many gate titans, Nano's, warfets, and have only had minimal issues. The real issue with gate titans is with over greasing. If you slather on a ton of grease in your gearbox it will sling grease all over the optical sensors and the titan will shut down. Thats the only real problem Ive seen with them. I've tried BTC's and gates and I still prefer Titans. Ive gotten guns wet with them, Ive slogged in the mud with them, and not had the issues you state. I do see your point though to use 1 fet for all your guns.

The fact that he likes mechanical triggersets should tell you something. He is catering to an entirely different crowd of players. I installed tons of titans, and used them myself. They work well with the right install procedures. Even if a person does not like Titan, there are still plenty of other ETU choices on the market. I don't think i've had a mechanical triggerset AEG for 12+ years now.
@ghostwalkerairsofttech19472 жыл бұрын
@@meanmarine24 I personally despise mechanical fets. Their little actuating arms break and the manufacturers of them have little in supply to cover the warranty on them. Not to mention if they respond to requests at all. Taken care of and installed properly..gate products just work...I've only had 1 doa in x years...any malfunction with them has been a result of someone else cracking the gearbox and improperly shimming the gears knocking the sensor chips off the board or over lubricating the gears..other than that...never had a single complaint with them..
@meanmarine242 жыл бұрын
Even disregarding wear, mechanical triggersets just suck to play with. Long reset, bad for semi spam. And I cannot count how many times I've had to replace trigger trolleys or trouble shoot trolley/COL fitment. An ETU is much simpler to work with.

For everyone who still is interested in Gate Aster and Gate Titan mosfets, yes they are cool, but listen to Luke here. Gate Warfets are the way to go. Less complications and being a mechanical based mosfet, it is absolutely more reliable. I recently installed an Aster, being similar to the Titan, the light sensitivity is a pain in the ass. Yes I have it running well, yes the trigger sensitivity and binary modes are great, and yes you can easily read DTCs. Can you recommend any microcontrollers that someone could fit and program themselves? For example, writing custom functions that will measure the average rate of fire, or how many times someone has actually switched to full auto during a game? Ideally, something with Bluetooth capabilities. Does anything like that exist without having to build the board yourself from scratch? I suck at hardware design, but I've written tens of thousands of lines of assembly. I'd love to have a go at building something new and interesting. We've already done some stuff with 3D printing, but I'm becoming more interested in internals. I have had a look, can't find anything, I'm curious if any pre-built programmable boards exist or not. I'm talking boards which are yours to own, it's your intellectual property if you drop a program on there that does something novel. Interested to know your thoughts.

Nothing else like it imo. The customisation is amazing. Being able to change your profiles during a game. This is why you avoid MOSFETs and tune according to the battery voltage and quality of the contacts and the purpose of what the gun is used for. I have seen too far too many MOSFETs (Gates,BTCs etc) fail/fry in harsh conditions, e.g. rain, metallic sand, sand, mud. Sure, modular FETs can be replaced but nothing is as simple as a change in battery and a washout. I only install MOSFETs if the gun has limited space for batteries where a MOSFET will get better efficiency/cycling response from the small battery OR if the gun requires a MOSFET for reliable functioning, such as on an upgraded NGRS.

I have me a couple WARFET1.1 and I have found a way to trick the weapon into being partially semi-auto only, "partially" because I have noticed that if I accidentlly push my fire-select in between fire modes the weapon double fires. Anyways. With trigger contacts bypassed from battery, set fire modes to semi/burst. Then go to burst timing and turn it all the way down. I have noticed that burst may let out a two round burst when spamming. It can be supressed by using active braking.

Sadly with the precocking on, it doesn't like that method. Needs to be semi locked or sites may not allow it. I don't allow them if they're not locked for sure...

I've had 2 gate titans, both of them are now paper weights first fried on an 11.1v. Strange they're rated for 14.8v, right? 2nd titan had a half cycle problem. Jefftron leviathan or BTC is the way to go, not to mention they're bluetooth.

Good points on titans here. Earned a sub from me. Canada located tech here, I pretty much exclusively do builds with either 3034 basic mosfets or BTC spectres. Most people I do work with like slim stocks and fitting the battery inside the buffer tube, the GATE fets take up far too much space for my needs so I often modify the gearbox to take an inline 3034 homebrew fet. I've also found some more hamfisted players will often jam the battery in the stock and cause problems for things like the signal wires on GATE fets. I've had way too many lemons with GATE products, especially titans. On a more personal level, I cannot support titans for up charging a product for a programming card, phone cable, ect with no way to update or program your fet unless you basically buy what is the equivalent of MOSFET DLC to their products.

@darkshock42mlg054 жыл бұрын
The only reason to use a titan is in a steyr aug because it has an aug mode. The aug has a dual stage trigger which i can imagine is a headache to work on and the titan simplifies it making it the same as any other ak, sig, or g36.

It is very true. I like the Mosfets outside rather than inside because if there is a mechanical issue, you risk possibility of breaking the Mosfet itself. I had a buddy tear his signal wire by motor pinion because he didn't secure it down and I had another, shim the sector so high that when he pulled the trigger, the top scanner snapped out of impact. I definitely agree with Mosfet outside of gearbox but, for sure it does have its perks. I believe what matters is if one has truly mastered the Teching and has everything down to the science for lasting mechanically.

Hey negative I’d like to hear your opinion on what I should do with my krytac as it shoots at 350 with an ASG 95. I have thought about cutting the spring but I'm not sure if that’s a great idea.

I actually love the Gate XASR, for a $20 mosfet and I've never had a problem running 11.1s as long as it's low discharge like the Elite Force 11.1s the only problem I've had as far as batteries go is when I got the gun I ran a 7.4 and after 10 shots tuning in my hop the gearbox locked up but I pulled the gearbox to advantage of the little cut out for the anti reversal latch and put a 11.1 on it and it sounds so much better and haven't had and over cycling issues since... Plus if I ever want to put a Warfet (because your right it is the best Gate) I just have to unplug my XASR and plug in the Warfet

I’m going to install a WARFET, could you explain single signal wire vs double? The intuitive difference would be total isolation of the trigger from motor voltage making the MOSFET act as a true relay. Is there something else I’m missing?

Did you happen to find this out? I am also considering installing a warfet into my specna edge but I don't know how the wiring works.

@hakont.49604 жыл бұрын
@@juju_blue_6722 With the double wire the "input" on the trigger switch gets +12V from the mosfet. With the single wire you have to splice in a wire on the positive main wire somwhere and connect that to the "input" on the trigger switch. Double wire is more common with V3 gearboxes and single wire is more common with V2 gearboxes.
@juju_blue_67224 жыл бұрын
@@hakont.4960 On my edge, the input to the trigger is already connected internally to the positive battery post. So why would I need to do it again? Can't I just use one wire to the input of the warfet?
