Why I Don't Recommend SmallRig Camera Cages

2:30 just attach a slim arca swiss clamp to the gimbal plate and use the build-in arca swiss plate of the cage. My biggest issue with many non smallrig cages is the cutout for the battery door where the pinky finger usually falls. The tilta halfcage would be perfect for me but the cutout is a nogo. But smallrig also has alot of compatibility issues within its own brand. many parts dont fit together or the screw holes are just a few mm off

I have an. A6700. My Neewer V2s flash would not fire. The smallrig cage was stopping it from fully engaging the hot shoe. I like the looks of the Falcam F22 & F38 Quick Release Camera Cage for Sony a6700

I have the same prob with the Smallrig cage for my zve10, my dji wireless mic adapter unable to be inserted fully cos partial part of the cage is blocking

Camera cages & Phone cages are designed for videographer or filmmaker.

Haven't encountered this issue on my Smallrig cages for the X-H2s or S5ii, both perfectly clear a big speedlite flash with a NATO rail attached on top too. Must be just that particular cage for Sony maybe?

the market for camera cages are good these days. alot of brands out there making different and better cages for cameras. back then, it was only small rig

i bought it simply as armor plating, it takes the scrapes and nicks from shooting on the go instead of the plastic camera body. freely set the camera on brick walls and against cement barriers to line up scenes

totally agree... cages allows you to mount a lot of video making accessories which photographers don't need.

Weight eliminates shake. Cages are for anyone. For any reason.

x1s trigger got no problem maybe if you mod your blic with quick relase like on higher end godox blic. that one has better clearance
