If you like this new editing style, give the video a like. To be clear, I think it is perfectly reasonable to support the actual bodybuilders (individuals like Chris Bumstead, Terrence Ruffin etc who seem like solid people) while choosing to not support the corrupt organizations. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the video/topic below. Thanks for watching.

I think casual bodybuilding is a great tool for young men to learn goal setting and hard work. Not many men go on to be professional bodybuilders but how many of us continue lifting for health and end up applying the ethic to BJJ or education or careers or whatever else? If you can discipline yourself into eating well, going to bed early and getting to the gym and following a program regardless of if you feel great or crappy you can discipline yourself into success in any area. Professional bodybuilding I agree with everything you say. For how long have people been saying the physiques used to be better?

Fairness in a judged sport is hard to come by. Whether you are a bodybuilder, a gymnast, or a figure skater, you can never be sure when the winner is chosen by judged criteria. Those criteria are what the judges think the fans want, or in some instances what they are compensated to decide.
@vittocrazi

BB isnt the same as any of those sports you listed. Gymnastics and figure skating has points awarded for executing different skills of varying difficulty. Simone Biles was dominant at her peak because she could execute skills that literally no other gymnast on the planet could. Sure there is an artistic component also that leads to subjectivity but body building is nothing but subjectivity. BB is closer to a beauty pageant than an actual sport. Its all about a "look" that is desired by the judges with no objective skill based criteria.

The NPC/IFBB are corrupt AF….been this way forever. I did the Contra Costa in 2004. They let seasoned competitors cross over and compete in open and novice divisions so the promoters (Lindsey and O’Brian) got more money and the competitors could win a $10 trophy. Seeing and hearing about the competitors health issues back stage was eye opening. One guy had to go to the ER because he was taking furosemide (Lasix) and had arrhythmias. He won the prejudging and came back later from the night show totally washed out but still won. Don’t get me started about Muscle Mania, what a joke. I only competed naturally and I won a couple small shows, but you can’t advance as a natty. The INBF and WNBF seemed pretty legit when I did INBF shows, at least we had a polygraph. It's both. Oxford dictionary for "sport": "an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment." Yes, but you dont compete in the stages working out, that would be closer to powerlifting Theoretically, they compete with poses. But again, the winner isnt the best poser, but the one that has the best physiche. Otherwise any good person, regardless of body shape could win with good poses In the end there are no defined concrete competition in terms of sports. Hence qualifying it as a beuty contest makes a lot more sense. Also, to be honest, models and bodybuilder do the same shit. They diet, control their sleep and train. The only difference is how much drugs are used😂@@Siberius-
@Siberius-
@Siberius- 3 ай бұрын
@@andreysilva8418 - Good posers edge out people who have better physiques than them all the time though, we should acknowledge. Or much more so, people who are having a bad posing day, can place much more poorly than they otherwise would. Especially these days now that the judging criteria pays more attention to certain things that became an issue. I think beauty pageants would also be a sport, if the talent round was the same talent, and they went head to head, like what bodybuilders do. It's just that beauty pageants aren't all that physically exerting when they're displaying said beauty (even if there's skill). Whichhh would actually really mean that they would have thrown a sport into a non-sport lol. It would contain a sport, without being a sport overall. But I do think bodybuilding is also a beauty pageant. Or... these days the Open division is getting back to caring about that, but for a while there it really was just a muscle-competition, rather than any "beauty" being relevant in the slightest. Bodybuilders and models focus on a lot of the same things, naturally. Just often in very different ways.

Posing is definitely hard and you need to train that as well, but in the end... There is no performance comparison among them. Yes, they might be athletes in other sports outside bodybuilding but I still strongly believe bodybuilding per se it's not a sport.

I'm so tired of how women take absolutely no responsibility and always cry that they were pressured into things. They weren't! They were offerd something and they accepted it for a profit. The profit turned out not to be so benificial and then they cry 6 ual explotation. It's not 6 ual explotation it's their own greed.

It’s crazy the amount of teens on SARMs and anabolics now. When I started lifting you’d rarely, rarely see anyone on gear under the age of 20. Now these sarms goblins and tre-ens are using drugs like crazy.

Ifbb&NPC private organization is owned by private company, they can do whatever. Nobody forcing you to compete there. Wanna “save” BB? Buy them out or establish rivaling organization, buy Olympia brand and do it right. People always complain about some corporations does something and they shouldn’t and they bad, yeah people love to tell others how they should run their company instead of doing your own thing.

That’s just the territory that comes with being the best in almost any sport. Football players hardly last a decade in their sport because it destroys their body and brain that much yet most Americans are more triggered over heavy lifting 💀

Man, a few days ago visited a museum exhibition of El Greco, so there was this short documentary at the end of his staying in Rome and how the Farnese family influenced his art work, couldn’t avoid to recall that bodybuilding started that way. Eugene Sandow visiting Italy, and deciding that he wanted not only to chisel his body in concordance to the statues he considered beautiful and represented the body beautifully, but make discipline out of it, the discipline of chasing beauty, resilience strength and therefore health through exercise. To me what they are doing nowadays is quite far from it’s starts I’d dare to say that it’s not bodybuilding, but monster building at the expense of sacrificing their own lives for the sake of likes from weirdos on social media some money at the expense of a dysfunctional pp and a shorter life? I highly support natural bodybuilding consider myself a bodybuilder and seems to me there’s a strong community growing with guys like: Natural Hypertrophy, Geoffrey Verity, Atlaspowershrugged, Bald Omniman, Alexis Leonidas. As a fact in Hungary were I live, made a few gym bros by working on some neglected muscles (neck, forearms, calves) simply due the fact that we follow the same content and we leave no muscle group behind (unless it’s on purpose, in order to make balance) that’s real bodybuilding imo.

About 12 years ago, I was a talking to a few people who competed in NPC and they were approached to become part of that website and told it would help their career in the industry. Not to mention the HORRIFIC cycles these men and women have been put on very early in their career. 😕

Wayne Demilia pushed these hit pieces so he could promote an alternative bodybuilding organization, the IFBB Elite pro league (the American and International IFBB split from each other). A lot of that stuff has gotten better over the years except for athletes dying. Also, diuretics are not necessary. That's why there are coaches out there discouraging them. In the article itself, there were women who said they were implied to that if they posed in certain photo shoots they might place better...and they were upset that girls who did not do those photo shoots beat them in competition. So really they were upset that it wasn't corrupt. And for anyone following the sport, judging had gotten way better and way less political over the years. Most placings actually make sense now.

I've never understood bodybuilding because it's not judging the function of muscularity... What does it matter if you have huge arms if you're so dehydrated going into a competition that you couldn't take a car load of groceries up the stairs for the old lady across the street? The point of being strong should not be aesthetics... It ought to be to use that strength to help others.

I totally agree. As a Woman, the Olympia has become a joke now. The standard for women is that if they want to win they have to be on anabolics and as masculine as a man. Rachel McLish was the 1st female Olympia and she was natural with some fat in competition. What the hell happened to women having a healthy, fertile, physique that is not crazy starving to death?

Considering the women complaining of doing photo shoots (when they could have said no) haven't won dic.. all and have since been refuted or that those so called judges have been long fired for insubordination & now apart of a rival company.. hell 3 of them have been charged with sexual assault. I'm not surprised Omar didn't mention that.. he's only looking for views because he can't get any... He's lost sooooo much of his market because of his lack of competivness.. once he was competitive with Christian Guzman, now he cant even carry his sweaty towel.. quit trying to stir up controversy where there is none. Just for views . You are on the same level as bodybuilding & bs.. all for clicks half the truth

It’s a poor comparison to mma. Many fighters will suffer head trauma over the course of their career which leads to depression and loss of memory where they cannot even remember the fights they took part in. There’s a huge cost for mma fighters, a fate perhaps worse than death.

Excellent video. The articles were very eye-opening as well, showing that the problem with modern bodybuilding runs much far than "dying from steroid overuse", even as grim as that alone sounds. This should be a warning to anyone faintly interested in participating in the sport, and I think we as a society/community also need to reevaluate how we view "hard work", not just pursuing a goal at all costs even if it means tolerating and normalizing abuse.
